I don't like fish which contains alot of iodine plus there's only a quarter of the rda in one tablet so I can't see it doing any harm .
Still feel ok which is making my mind up about not having rai again.
Take care all,baz

Well made it to the weekend but goodness I've never been so tired. I've enjoyed getting back but it's not been easy I've been having a napp when I get home and had a lot of headaches. I've got another week of part time hours so will see how it goes.
Marigold, sorry about your eye, I would get it checked if it gets any worse.
Bess, I am keeping my fingers crossed that you are sorted, how did you get on with the last blood pressure checks.
Kat, I hope you get away as planned you might get a cheap last minute deal. We have a week in Scotland planned the week after next which I am looking forward to.
Sue, hang in there once you start picking up you will be able to get off the rolloercoaster of chest infections.
Take care

Just weighed myself and have put 4lbs on in a week!!! No change in diet and have been out walking more. My pulse has dropped again sitting around 50 when resting, I'm thinking Hypo, did bloods Thursday but results weren't in yesterday when I phoned. Had a proper caffeinated cup of tea to wake me up Ooohh it tasted nice. Feeling not too bad, legs a ache a bit and the delightful indigestion was back at 2am this morning! Supposed to be on 20mg of Carbs a day I halved it yesterday and today, hope results are in on Monday have GP on Wednesday.
We have a wee cottage on a farm in Devon provisionally booked, the farm has 5 cottages in total and has an indoor swimming pool and games room etc so should keep the kids happy, think I went to Devon when I was about 10 but haven't been since.
Jane whereabouts in Scotland you heading to? Are you bringing the caravan?
Glad your first week of is over it must have been good to catch up with everyone, hope the 700 emails have reduced I think I might have the same when I go back. I'm going to adopt your attitude (well try to) and not keep waiting for the next stage to happen, I think we all know the symptoms well enough now to know when something is changing.
It's horrible here today, Hubby is taking the kids to see Harry Potter this afternoon and i'm going to watch all my Sky+ programmes in peace :-)

I put weight on like that when the carbs were slowing me down. This year I've put on over 2 and a half stone. I've lost a couple of pounds since I've come off carbs so we will see if I'm going back up or it's just the carbs. At least you are being checked regularly, i took 40g carbs a day for 15 weeks and didnt go under! I was convinced that I was hypo I felt so tired and lethargic, the endo said the coming down makes you feel like that and i didnt get on with propanolol. Have a good holiday, we are going in the caravan only just over the border at north berwick. Can't wait! Let's hope it stops raining by then.
Take care

Just had my blood results back and guess what.................. looks like the RAI has worked YIPPPPPPEEEEEEE!!
My levels are now T4 9 T3 2.8 TSH 0.1 so my T4 has dropped from 58 to 9 in 2 weeks! I knew in myself I was heading down the scale that's why I halved the Carbs and then halved them again and then stopped them yesterday. So I was only on the Carbs for 6 days in total so any effect they had on my levels must have been minimal. Marigold remember I said my neck felt clearer that must have been the turning point. My pulse is still quite low and this morning I didn't feel fully awake till lunchtime like I needed an expresso to kick start me, stuck to the decaf though :-)
So I wonder what next? Have an appointment with the GP on Wednesday morning, I'm quite excited.
Sounds funny getting excited about heading hypo but I'm sure you all understand.
Take Care,
Love Kat xxxx

I noticed before they put me back on the carbs my tsh was 0.09 with t4 18.1 and t3 5.7 so mh bloods were no that bad I can't understand why they said go back on them?
How did you feel wen u went hypo? Did you feel almost physically sick with fatigue and like you can't wake up enough?
Take care

I have all the symptoms of being hypo but my levels are at the very bottom of the normal range, I'm not feeling any better so I think I'll be officially hypo very soon. My symptoms are feeling like I can't wake up, a really fuzzy head like its full of cotton wool, my heart rate/pulse is very low (but not as low as yours!) very tired having been going to bed before the kids and feeling cold. I stopped my Carbs though after just 6 days when all of the above kicked in and I haven't been on propanalol for ages, if you have just stopped them today no wonder you are feeling so bad. Roll on Thursday hopefully they will start you on thyroxin and you should start feeling better, it's a waiting game till then. They maybe thought you were still hyper due to your TSH level because the other levels are in the normal range, I was reading today that after you have RAI you can get a false TSH reading as the pituitary gland that produces TSH shuts down for a while so you should go by your T4 or T3 level after RAI.
Sue reading your results means that you too are definately hypo - well done :-) so your on the final stage now! I also read today (done a lot of reading today!!) that if you have had heart problems in the past they start you on the lowest dose of thyroxin to begin with till your body gets used to it and then they gradually increase your dose till your levels have levelled out. The
ECG will just be a check to make sure your hearts okay on the thyroxin.
Phew check me out Dr Kat or what!!
Well I hope the Doctor starts me on the old thyroxin tomorrow I would hate to feel any worse than I do just now.
Take care,
Kat xxxx
