Hi
Hope you don't mind but thought I would start a new thread.
Tess the flowers sound great. That was very nice of your Dads friend. I planted sweat peas in the spring and I have managed to have a constant supply in my lounge since June.
Tess how is Claire?
Linda how are you? How is your Mum? How did your last CBT session go?
Lin are you going to join us here? Sorry to hear you didn't manage to get out shopping.
Tomorrow we take Alison to Birmingham. So today I plan to get all her washing done. Not really feeling up to it as these last few days all I have wanted to do is sleep.
Wishing you all a good weekend.
Lizzy

Hope the kitchen is going ok Tess and you are managing to pace yourself a little!
Lizzy, hope the in laws turning up was a positive thing!! lol
Well, still have a very swollen foot/ankle but painkillers mean I can at least potter about and do a few essential things. I am doing something very different today! Discovered that our County Council hold special days/activities for carers so I am going on a Pamper day today! Will have a pedicure and then meet other carers for coffee and art therapy. I have lost a lot of my confidence over the last twenty years and for me to go along to something like this on my own and not knowing anyone is quite something. So watch this space!
Well hope you are all ok and have a good day before the weather changes over the weekend.

Hope you have all had a good day.
Tess hope the kitchen is coming along well and that Chris has settled in. How is Claire?
Linda that sounds like an excellent idea, a pamper day, I'm sure you will love it. I am looking forward to hearing all about it. Do you know why your foot is swollen?
Well the inlaws are not too bad!! Anyway Mother in-law was not too impressed with my xmas cake she said that I had put far too much Brandy in, in fact she was quite rude about it. Miniture bottle no/3 went in yesterday. Yum yum.
Jeff has the talk about knitting put you off. I do hope your Mum is Ok.
Linnor did you have a good holiday?

Lizzy don't worry about what your mother-in-law said about your xmas cake as I am sure it will be ok. You made it and I am sure it will taste nice to.
Linda you are so brave on going to your pampering session on your own. I hope you had a lovely time.
Claire is a lot better now but still not able to eat solid foods. Still having to take her forti -juice drinks for her vitamins etc. Her doctor has put up her medications to see if they help her feel better and she can eat normal food. She has to go back in two weeks and if not any better he will put her on another drug that will boost what she takes to make her better.
Well have been busy these last few days! Was Steph/Chris 22nd birthday yesterday. Also had the man come out to do our french doors. Well what a mess up! He said would come at 1pm to do them but finally arrived at 3.30pm.
He even asked before he went if he could have some of the money and I said no would sort out with him when he came back tomorrow. He said he would come at 4pm today but again didn't come until 5.30. We had to ring him to find out again what time he would be here. Well he has put the doors in and they do look really good. What a unsettled and stressful two days. He wasn't going to do some of the work we agreed on for what we were paying him. We got him to level off the floor and should have done the two sides and put the cavity wall feeling back in. He wasn't going to be able to do that today and would have to come back Monday. So Stewart said not to bother about that and got him to knock fifty pounds off and he will do it himself. We went with him as Stewart's sister recommended him to us. I certainly will not be recommending him to anyone else.
Went for a check up at the Dentist today and luckily all was ok again. He said the bone was wearing away on one of my teeth. Every time i go he is always asking about me having an xray. I have it on my records that I don't want one because of my cancer. I did read an article in the paper recently about xrays in the mouth could be one of the causes of thyroid cancer. So there is no way I will have one unless really necessary.
The doors have certainly made the dining room look lovely. Just can't wait to get it all finished. Stewart is on nights now until Monday then will be up in the afternoon to start again on the dining area and kitchen.
Well going to Steph's tomorrow for a get together for hers and Chris's birthday.
Got them a birthday cake as a surprise.
Well have a good weekend everyone!

Where are you all lol! Don't like this cold weather we are having as given me more aches and pain! Doesen't help as we can't put our central heating on at the moment as Stewart needs to bleed radiators and put new one in the dining area in our kitchen. Can't wait for the heating to be on. Stewart bought radiator today but we need to get his friend John back to check the gas.
The kitchen and diner is taking shape now. Stewart bless him not got much done today as full of cold. Hopefully we will get more done tomorrow depending how he feels. Only got two and half weeks until kitchen units arrive.
Lizzy I hope you are doing ok and the counseling sessions are going well. Have you been out walking anymore!
Linda I hope you are doing ok! How is your mum doing now! How is Ann getting on in her flat.
Jeff I hope you are ok today.
Linoor are you back now and hope you enjoyed your holiday!
Take care everyone!

Well Christmas is nearly here, wife said all the Xmas decorations up in City centre, they get earlier every year.
Wife is waiting for blood test results GP thinks she may have coccydinia find out on Monday.
Still waiting for new tablets to kick in, cannot wait to feel a bit more positive. Most sites say fluoxetine take anything from 2-6 weeks to kick in.
still waiting to hear from work, is no news good news??

Sorry for the short post this morning, just wanted to let you know I was ok!
Got on well, with my carers day, I was a bit unsure but it was actually quite plesant. Got some info about other things that are available. Ray and I then went to an over 50`s event and picked up even more info. Lots of bedtime reading!! Lol
Last time I saw GP he said my blood pressure had gone up and to go back in a month. Normally book our appointments online, but hadn`t found anything for my GP for over 3 weeks, was getting worried he might have gone away again. Rang on Mon and she said you have to have a telephone app first!! Then he will make an app. So eventually got one for yesterday pm. What a long way round to get an app!!?? Well I guess I must have got so worked up about not being able to see him blood pressure had gone up again! So now have yet another tablet to take. I`ll soon rattle.
With all the hassle, I can feel myself going downhill again, but didn`t mention it yesterday, thought I`d wait I see if I feel better when things have settled down again.
Chris, my son, passed his driving test today, first time, so a bit of good news at least!
Ann is fine, apart from a black infected toe from climbing the three peaks, not a good thing to have for a diabetic, so hopefully antibiotics will do the trick!
Mum has been doing very well, but was not so good today, the lift to her floor was broken and that was enough to confuse and upset her, so was a bit tearful when we left and that always upsets me.
Tess, I hope you begining to feel a little better following your Dad`s death and the upset your brother caused the family. Sending you a hug.
Lizzy hope things are ok with you too, any news on the job front?
Well, going to sign off now as I`m going to have an early night with the tv, take care all

I hope you have all had a pretty ok day.
Linda I'm so pleased that you and Ray had a good time at the carers day. I'm sorry to hear you have now got to take more tablets. Congratulations to Chris for passing his driving test first too brilliant. Ann did well too I hope her toe gets better quickly.
Jeff hows the fluoxetine going I tried them last year and I only managed 12 weeks and my Doc had to take me off them as I went hyper I felt like tigger. They can take a long time to get into your system, but my friends think they are good so hang in there. What is coccydinia? Are you waiting to see if you can keep your job or not?
Tess I hope your pain is not too bad. I hope you get your heating on soon we have already had a couple of coal fires. It sounds like your kitchen is coming along well. i hope Stewart feels better quickly.
Linnor hope you had a good holiday.
Well Alan is still out of work!!! Money is getting very tight. I have had a good couple of days my mood has lifted quite a bit which is a relief. Next week I have got blood tests to make sure my kidneys and liver are ok. The counselling is going very slowly, I'm not sure if this is normal but I seem to be doing all the talking and she just asks a few questions. She has told me that I have to stand up to my Mum thats easier said than done. Not done any walking as I have not felt at all well think I may have had a cold or a small flare.
Wishing you all a good day tomorrow and pain free.

Jeff i hope you wifes blood results are ok and she feels better soon. Also that your tablets will kick in for you. Hope all is well with your job when you hear.
Linda well done to Chris on passing his test first time! My Chris passed his first time as well. Ann did really well with her climbing and i hope her toe will get better without any further complications. I am glad your carers day went ok and was good to hear you and Ray went to the over 50's thing together. Have you done all your reading now lol! Dosen't take much for your poor mum to get confused bless her! Thanks for the hug! Still having family problems getting money from my brother and we haven't got the ashes yet! So can't really move forward properly until that is all settled. So write a Soap Opera with what has been going on lol. A long story you just wouldn't believe.
Well was Sophie's 2nd Birthday today and she looked so lovely in her party dress. Although Amy has got her partner in hospital with chest pains and some drink related problems. She was taking the girls in to see him tonight and the birthday cake. She made Sophie a Mr Tumble birthday cake! Its a programme she watches off Cbeebies. Looked after Sophie all day yesterday and then the girls again last night while Amy went to hospital. Also had Sophie all day Tuesday so am feeling quite tired tonight. Poor Stewart's cold is getting better slowly.
Lizzy glad you are feeling a little bit brighter than you were! It must be a worry for you with the money being tight with Alan not working. I do feel for you as it is so difficult when you have children as well to provide for.
I hope your bloods go ok next week! I don't go back to see dr until November to have blood test done! I might go before then and ask to have a low dose anti inflammatory to help with my pain. The codradomol doesn't seem to work at all. Also going to ask if i can have my iron levels checked as well as been feeling a bit breathless and tired. Haven't had them done now for over a year.
Well take care all and catch up again soon.

Thanks for asking about holiday did not go as planned 1st week was ok but 2nd week was a complete mess mum in law was taken into hospital in Exeter with severe back pain which turned out to be a septic kidney shw had suffered all the 1st wk and would'nt let us take her to dr's. So our second wk entailed going to the hospital every day so dad could see mum daves brother did not put his self out once but thats another story We had to come home Tuesday this wk because we had hired a car and dave had to be back at work,so we had all the stress of finding dad somewhere safe he could stay but I must say PAL helped us no end they arranged for him to have a room in their residence unit. We still have no idea how long she will be in as London hosp will not have her back untill all infection has cleared and drains from Kidney are removed.
So I now need another holiday to get over first one :D but seriousy sress is not good for pain management.
Hope you didnt mind the essay
will catch up soon.

What a shame your holiday got all messed up. How is your mum in law now. Its one of those things you can't foresee but changes the whole of your holiday. I now what you mean about another story with family members. We had problems after my father died as my brother has been helping himself to a very big amount of dads's money. Problems still going on now and Dad died in July and still not been able to scatter the ashes yet! There always seems to be things going on in most families lol.
I know what you mean though about going to the hospital while away on holiday. Over a year ago Stewart my husband had an burns accident at work the day before we were going to Yorkshire. He managed to drive our motorhome ok. We were away for two weeks and had to go to a outpatients hospital somewhere to get it changed every two days. Luckily it has healed up ok now and not left a prominent scar. We put a claim in against his employers and that has now been settled. This wasn't the first time this bit of machinery had spurted out extrememly hot water. They still haven't fully made it safe as yet.
Bet you do feel like you need another holiday now. Stress is very bad for us all!
Hard sometimes though to avoid it with what life throws at us. Try and take some time for yourself.
Linda, Lizzy & Geoff how are you all. I hope you have all had a decent weekend with not too much pain.
I have had more aches and pains just lately! Had lots of headaches recently as well and got my daughter Claire to take by BP. Was highter than my normal level so going to see gp on Thurdaday anyway so mention it to him then. Need more help with pain meds at the moment.
Take care all!

Really struggling at the moment, GP added in another blood pressure tablet last week as my blood pressure had remained high for a month. Lots of instructions on how to start taking it to avoid any side effects, but if it`s not that that`s making me feel so awful I don`t know what is!! Even missed my best friend`s husbands retirement party on Sat! Have to have blood tests and bp checked again a week tomorrow, so if no improvement will ask nurse if I should see doc again.
GP gave me Naproxen for my pain, Tess, but only take it when necessary. Couldn`t tolerate Tramadol at all it just made me sleep all the time!
Hope everyone else is managing with this damp weather, just going to take things slowly today and only do what I can manage.
Take care, Linda

Linda sorry you are not feeling good still. I hope they can sort out your blood pressure and get you feeling a lot better soon. You must have been really disappointed when you didn't get to the party! It is so annoying when you don't feel well and are unable to go.
Do you watch X Factor! Chris didn't get through but a friend of his called Craig got through. He got through with his friend Joe and they are called Diva Fever. They got to judges houses and got knocked out last night.
On the front of our local paper today Simon Cowell went to his house in Peterborough to see him. Looks like they could be coming back as one of the Wild Card Acts. Apparently they are bringing one back from each Category. I thought Cheryl was wrong in not putting Gamu in so hope they bring her back.
Chris is going to one our local Primary Schools in Whittlesey today to see about doing some voluntary work. Applied for several TA jobs but seem to be going to more experienced people or going internally. He use to work at Waterstones book shop in Peterborough and should be able to get some part time work up until Christmas. His old boss going to put word in for him but this doesn't start until November. He luckily had a wage owing when he left and is now waiting for the tax office to send his overpaid tax back to him. So hopefully won't have to fund him to much money until then.
Well Lizzy, Jeff and Linoor hope you are all ok.

How are you all today! Well I am angry as Asda running late with my shopping again. This has happened a lot of the last few months. Was on time last week but late again this week. Should have been here between 11 and 1pm. It is now nearly 1.30pm! I have rung them and asked for my delivery charge to be credited back to me. It this is not done I shall be contacting Asda again and complaining. Don't need this today as got splitting headache!
Definately off to the doctor tomorrow to check out my blood pressure lol!
Can't get appointment until I ring at 8.30am in the morning.
Linda Chris has got an interview for a TA job in Ely next Tuesday 12th October at 11am. This is his first positive outcome from any jobs he has applied for. He has also sorting out some voluntary work at our local school. Always happens that way when you don;t get interview for Ta job and then apply for some voluntary work. He is not should if it was a full time position or part time. If it is part time and can get the job will fit in well to do some voluntary work as well. Just have to wait and see!
I hope everyone else is doing ok today!
Take care.

How are you all today! Saw doctor on Thursday and he is bringing my thyroid blood test forward and doing a full blood count to check my iron levels as well. Got to go on Tuesday! Still not feeling a hundred per cent.
See what results show!
Could have gone for the flu injection this sat or next! Didn't go today with still not feeling so good so will go next Saturday. Although got a bit of a dilema. Normally have the seasonal flu jab and ok with that. The government have put the two together now and have added the swine flu jab. Didn't have that last time so not sure what to do? Has anyone had the swine flu injection and how did you get on with it. Will see how I feel towards the end of this week and make my decision. My daughter Stephanie has the same problem and worse for her as she is pregnant!
Been waiting all day for the sun to come out here as the weathermen said it was going to be a lovely warm day. Think they got it wrong here.
Well take care all.
