Hi

Hope you don't mind but thought I would start a new thread.

Tess the flowers sound great. That was very nice of your Dads friend. I planted sweat peas in the spring and I have managed to have a constant supply in my lounge since June.

Tess how is Claire?

Linda how are you? How is your Mum? How did your last CBT session go?

Lin are you going to join us here? Sorry to hear you didn't manage to get out shopping.

Tomorrow we take Alison to Birmingham. So today I plan to get all her washing done. Not really feeling up to it as these last few days all I have wanted to do is sleep.

Wishing you all a good weekend.

Lizzy

    Hi All

Lizzy & Linda yes it has been a nightmare with my other brothers and sister. We are now going to make Saturday a special day for my family and my sisters family.

I hope you had a lovely day with your friend Linda when she can to visit for coffee. Lizzy hope you are doing ok today.

Had some bad news yesterday my close friend's husband died. He was diagnosed with cancer of the gullet in beginning of October. He died suddenly yesterday morning. They think it was due to the cancer and possibly a blood clot that caused a heart attack. He went to school with Stewart my husband and they were in the scouts together. He was told he had terminable cancer.

She is a really good friend and was there for me when I had my cancer for support. So I want to give her the support that she gave to me.

He was only 52 years old. She has three grown up sons.

Chris went to an interview today to get on the psge course for teaching at a University in London. He now has to wait about three weeks to see if he has got on the course.

Stewart has now nearly finished the utility bit. Wanted to get that done before he did anymore on the kitchen because of the change in the weather.

He is back on shift again tomorrow for five days so will have to wait till he is next off work.

Hope everyone is doing ok today.

    Hi Tess and Lizzy,

Will be thinking of you tomorrow Tess, I`m glad that at long last you can finally lay your Dad to rest with a special day with your families. I guess it will be a long time before you can say the same about your brother`s involvement with the financial side of things!

GP offered me counciling at our health centre but not sure how successful that would be after the CBT course, so I have to think about that. I`m thinking now that the way am feeling at the moment is more to do with my thyroid than anything else, not due for a blood test until Jan so I guess that`s not too long to wait.

Going to St. Eds tomorrow with Ann they have a christmas bazaar, she has been busy baking cakes for them. I just hope this fog lifts before then!

    Have a good weekend everyone,

    Linda

    Hi Linda & Everyone!

Thanks Linda will be good to unite Dad with my mum at long last!

I hope you have a lovely day tomorrow at St Eds with Ann. I also hope the weather will be ok for you for travelling.

Like you say not too long to have another thyroid blood test. I go for another one myself in january when I have my cancer check up. I will be going to the new hospital. I don't get my results back for a couple of months after my cancer blood test. I go early January.

Claire is having to work Christmas Day! She is working at Huntingdon from 10am until 10pm. She is going to pop in for an hour before she goes off to work. It she is off work not too late will come round again after. Steph is working as well but she starts at 7am until 11am. Andrew/Zoe will be having their first Christmas on their own in there house. They are coming over on Boxing Day when we are all going to Claire's house. Of course Dad won't be there this year as well.

    Take care

    Hi Lizzy, Linda and Everyone

Yes Lizzy went really well at the weekend scattering my Dad's ashes. There was 10 family members there so was just nice. Was good to reunite dad with mum again. We took some flowers to lay as well.

The weather was dry and not too cold. Was a bit muddy so had our walking boots and wellies on. Went back to my sisters for tea. We can now all move forward.

Got Sophie tomorrow for the day so should have lots of fun! She is in the middle of potty training. She has been really good with doing her wees on the toilet. Still got to master the poos yet lol.

Linda I hope you are doing ok today as well.

    Linnor has your granddaughter arrived!

    Hi everyone,

Well, it seems something may have gone right for once! Mum had her first cataract removed on Tues, it was a traumatic afternoon as they have four people in at 1.00pm assess them, then the surgeon arrives at 2.30pm and decides what order his list will be!! Well, by 1.30 Mum was getting confused and repeating herself, so I spoke to the nurse and she was operated on second. All day weds and yesterday she kept telling everyone that they hadn`t done it as she still couldn`t see. Then I got a call at 7.45 this morning from a very excited Mum saying she could see, even without her glasses, better that she had for years!!

I`m begining to get on top of the housework after all our work that was done a year ago and then Ann moving, I`m pacing myself and trying not to set too many goals. Ray loves to go out even just for a ride, because of all the things he can`t do, so I`ve made one rule, we don`t go for a drive until the things on my list are done! lol Mean aren`t I

Hope you are all coping with the cold snap, my knees and toes are more painful. Hope you all have a good weekend.

    Hi Linda, Lizzy & Everyone!

Have had a very busy week! Had Sophie on Tuesday and again today and bless her she has a bad cough and a bit of chest infection. When she has had her medicine she is alright for a while until it wears off. Shes has only been on amoxillian for a day so far so hopefully will pick up over the weekend.

Got a weekend in for the first time for two weeks ! Hoping to finally sort all my kitchen cupboards out and get everything for the kitchen out of the spare room. Stewart is on days but Chris will be about but got a friend coming over for the weekend. Said we would have takeway for tea on Saturday and that will give me chance to sort out. Said I would cook a roast for his friend before he goes back. He is a student at the Uni where Chris is hoping to get in to do his years teaching course. He finally gets paid next week so we are looking forward to that too. Will be able to get some money back in our bank.

Linda so pleased that your mum's first eye operation has gone ok. Does she know when she has the other one! It is good you are now getting on top of your jobs and feel better for it.

Got my friend's husbands funeral to go to on Thursday 2nd December. On Sat 4th December we are going to Nottingham hopefully if the weather is ok to see Andrew. We are staying overnight and come back on Sunday. On 6th December its Molly birthday and we are going to have her and Sophie over for a birthday tea. She is having her party on Sat 4th with her friends.

Nearly got the utility room finished now. Then we can finish the dining room. Its all looking good.

Yes Lizzy I have been feeding my cake with Brandy! I have got to catch you up lol.

    Take care.

    Hi Tess and Linda

I hope you are both well and not in too much pain.

We had a small amount of snow in the night so I lit the coal fire first thing this morning as I don't want the house to get too cold.

Good luck with your kitchen sorting Tess don't do too much! I hope Sophie feels better soon. Even the kids are now asking me if they can feed the cake, its a good job we are not going anywhere on xmas day wouldn't want to be stopped for drink friving.

Linda I'm sure you will feel much better once your house is sorted. I hate my house been upside down. I'm so pleased that your Mums eye opp went well my Mother In Law goes to have her eyes done in the next few weeks.

Wishing you all a good weekend.

    Hi Lizzy & Linda

Yes we have had a lot of snow here! Everywhere is really white. Finally got my kitchen cupboards sorted out now. So much easier to have everything back down in the kitchen. Just have to remember where everything is now lol.

Hoping to put up our my Christmas ornaments and bits today if I get the time. Stewart is on days today so give me to to do a few things. Although Steph popping in later and Chris might be off from the school today because of the snow. He tried to drive some of the way but was to bad. He is on his way back here but was held up in a traffic queue just a few miles out from where we live. He doesen't know what the hold up is for. Only thing I could think of if someone had broken down or an accident! Hope it is just someone broken down. Snowing hard again here now!

Not got Sophie tomorrow so want to get a few more jobs done! I need to go out and get Molly an advent chocolate calendar. The one I ordered from Asda was out of stock. Got friend coming over Wednesday for dinner if snow not too bad. Got my other friend's husband funeral on Thursday. Luckily we have only got a ten minute drive to the church, but her family have got a 40 minute drive into Peterborough after to the Crematorium. Hoping to go see Andrew in Nottingham at the weekend.

Will only go if the weather and snow not too bad. If not will have to wait to see him at Christmas. As he is busy on the other weeks and we are.

I bet your Christmas Cake will be nice and boozy Lizzy! Gave mine some more last night. Want to get my mince pies made soon as well and put in freezer.

Linda I hope you are ok today and finally getting your house sorted.

    Hi Tess and Lizzy,

Just a quick update, have had a busy week this week! lol

Mum`s sight seems to be very much improved, and she is sure she wants the other eye doing! When we visited yesterday, we saw the senior carer in the corridor and she told us that Mum wouldn`t let them phone me or my cousin, but she had had another fall!! No bones broken this time, paramedics checked her over and only bruising. Still in lot of pain so when the GP does his Thurs surgery in St. Eds they are going to get her looked again just to be sure.

Just going with the flow this week as lots of appointments on top of the weather. Hoping to keep tidy and on top of washing and cooking and go back to proper housework next week.

Glad your kitchen is getting sorted Tess, just don`t overdo it! lol I`m a fine one to talk. Lizzy try to stay warm within your budget it must be harder and harder as the weeks go by especially with a family and christmas just round the corner sad

    Take care Linda

    Hi Tess and Linda,

Well hows life treating you both?

Linda I glad your Mum wants to have the other eye done I sure it will help her loads. Wishing your mum a speedy recovery from her fall. I hope you haven't overdone it this week.

Tess it sounds like your cake is going to be as boozy as mine. Yum Yum. Did you manage to put yourxmas ornaments up? I hope your friends husband funeral went well.

I have managed to do all my xmas shopping for relatives and just got the children to buy for. I'm still debating on what to do as there is no spare cash in the bank and I really don't want to go into debt. So I have some thoughts on what to do and I think we shall have a family talk and see what idea the kids like best.

I have been feeling quite low as Alan has had 3 interviews over the last couple of weeks but he didn't get any of them. Its hard to keep positive when so much is going off. The counselling is helping a little but is also making me feel guilty as its costing so much.

Wishing you all a good weekend.

    Take care.

    Hello Everybody,

As you have all been vey quiet does that mean life is treating you all well. Or is life so bad you just don't feel like posting.

    Its so cold here!!!

Are any of you snowed in? The outside looked so beautiful yesterday Jack Frost had covered all the trees and cobwebs. The pond is frozen solid its a good job we haven't got any fish.

Take care everyone and wishing you all a good day tomorrow.
