just like to leave an update on my end. bumps when erect are gone but i do notice them come back sometimes. basically just dealing with the redness at this point. i havent been using anything as treatment and tbh it is getting better on its own the less i stress about it. just the redness i that i hope goes away soon

Glad to hear you are finding some relief. How long did it take for symptoms to improve? What treatment did you find to be helpful?

its been about a year now since this problem has started. and i havent been using anything and its been getting better! although i notice a lot more pre semen and clear discharge after masterbation but idk if that has to do with anything doctors dont think so. sex and everything is normal so im not really sure what to do anymore. redness is still there but not as bad as before

I am in the same boat. The same purple bumps and dots on the penis glans for the last 5 months.

I have been to a dermatovenerologist specialist last month.

He doesn't see anything suspicious although I stated that my penis head did not look like that before. He thinks this is caused by skin dryness and skin peeling that occured month or so before I began to notice bumps and dots. Apparently those bumps and dots were always there but since the skin became thinner due to dryness and peeling , they became more visible.

So - no diagnosis and no std (stds apparently manifest mainly through urethra discharge and difficulties during urination or changes on the penis skin but not UNDER the skin).

I got just a hialurone cream and ordinary A-derma cream.

Just marginally better after few weeks of cream application.

I hope this eases your mind at least a bit.

READ ME! hey everyone, ive had similar symptoms to what everyone else has been saying they have had for the past 2 years, burning head of penis, burning sensation in rectum, along with pressure, sweats in groin area. really made my life miserable. ive seen a family practitioner along with 2 different urologist that all originally believed i had prostatitis, bladder infection, uti, yeast infection, but none of the medications were working. a few months ago, i noticed an impression of a bump in my stool and reported it to my urologist which then scheduled me a colonoscopy with a GI doctor, he found a severely inflamed non cancerous polyp( 3mm in size), he then referred me to a colorectal doctor/surgeon to have it removed for about 1000 after my insurance. my symptoms went away afterwards, i assume theres nerves that connect my rectum and the tip of my penis. i hope this helps , i would recommend starting with a colonoscopy. the removal surgery wasnt bad, just felt internally bruised for about 5 days, and somewhat painful bowel movements for about a week and a half.

hello, for me no improvement, the burns in the urethra are really painful and the bumps even more visible. I don't even have to be erect to see some of them. I did several tests for communicable diseases and all came back negative. it may be a rare skin disease but given the circumstances in which it happened I doubt it.

do you have like little fungal infections that go away on their own without doing anything after 3/4 days? I had this a few times since the beginning of my problems. redness which I think is mycoses because they are transmitted from the glans to the foreskin and leave quickly in a few days, it came back a few weeks ago after a big blow of stress and left as quickly in 3 days

I think it contributed to damaging the skin of my glans because the doctor had given me a cream for mycosis which made me peel. the last 2 times I didn't put anything on and it went away quickly

the appearance of my glans :

if there was only a visual aspect I would not worry but the burns in the urethra mainly at the level of the glans are unbearable in the long run especially since as I had noted in my previous message I also have burning in the anus and pain in the groin

How did this begin? Was it after unprotected or protected sex? How long have you had it?

It could be sebaceous hyperplasia caused by some type of infection (bacterial or viral) or sexually transmitted.

You should see urologist for urethra discomfort. You could have UTI. Also test for ureaplasma/mycoplasma. I treated for ureaplasma and my discomfort in urethra went away, but still have red bumpy glans for over a year. Worse after hot shower.

after an unprotected b*****b by a prostitute, the rest of the report was protected. I felt 3 days later discomfort in the urethra. it's been 1 year now.

I passed all possible tests, several blood tests, several urinalysis, 2 urethral samples. I saw 3 urologists, 2 proctologists. no one finds anything. everyone says that I don't have a transmissible infection but in any case I have something that is ruining my life

Does it get redder/more irritated after hot shower?

Have you noticed any changes to urine stream (like urine stream splitting) or discomfort when urinating?

Did you take multiple STD tests weeks/months later after exposure? HIV tests after 90 days?

It is important to also see a dermatologist, not just urologists if the skin is affected.

Doctors are unable to diagnose if you are testing negative for everything. Mycoplasma/Ureaplasma is hard to detect, should ask for Mycoplasma/Ureaplasma culture test which could be culprit in urethra discomfort.

My redness/bumps have not gone away completely, but I must admit they have slightly improved over the last 14 months. I've tried every antibiotic, anti-fungal, cortisone, and topical steroid with no luck.

      Latest recommendations from urologist was:

Does not believe it is infection etiology based on my tests being negative

Recommends using a moisturizing emolient 3x a day on glans

Dermatologist thinks it's related to blood vessels under skin. Also does not believe it to be infection/STD based on all negative tests. Does not believe it to be HPV because HPV does not get redder with heat.

Here's what I am trying and it has helped it improve slightly:

      • Taking cold showers so heat does not irritate it
      • Use a moisturizing emolient at least 3x a day and try to avoid irritating that area
      • Anti-inflammatory diet, eat healthy and clean
      • Exercise regularly
      • Try as much as possible to remove anxiety/stress. This has been a struggle for me, as this has caused me the most stress and anxiety I have ever felt in my life (led to counseling and anti-anxiety medication).
      • Focusing on helping my immune system--AHCC, Garlic/Turmeric/Ginger supplements, Fish Oil
      • Staying hydrated and drinking plenty of water

Hope this helps you or anyone else reading this. I've had this issue for over 14 months now and still hoping we find a resolution

Thank you for your answer. I did all the tests for sexually transmitted infections 15 days, 4 months and 1 year after the report. I also met 2 doctors specializing in sexually transmitted infections and both tell me that I can have sex with my girlfriend (whom I met recently) without protecting myself.

one of the doctors told me that he couldn't see what infection could be so mild. do you also have a kind of burning in the urethra especially when urinating and after urinating?

the deadlines for appointments for a dermatologist are 6 months towards my place... so I have an appointment in February in a dermatological office but I have an online appointment with a dermatologist in 2 days. I will keep you informed of what he told me

Yes, all my issues started after sexual exposure. There was genital rubbing which I think is what triggered this, but sex was protected.

Had lots of symptoms in the days which followed:

Entire penis was red, seemed swollen and definitely inflamed

      Scrotum was very red

      Dysuria when urinating

      Stinging feeling when ejaculating

Rash at tip of penis which has not been resolved for 14+ months

Rash on thighs which cleared in ~week from Pimecrolimus

I've seen 4 dermatologists (all say it's not an STD and nothing is transmissible but I still feel like that's hard to believe) and 2 urologists.

Have taken too many antibiotics to name (Azithro, Doxycycline, Bactrim, Amoxicililn, Fluconazole, Minocycline) and every topical possible (CeraVe, Pimecrolimus, Taclonex, Hydrocortisone, Antibioitic oinments (forget the name)

Red bumpy/shiny rash persists. Gets much worse after hot shower. Bumps really noticible when erect. Skin has also become wrinkly/weird texture, likely from so many topicals. Redness most prominent around tip of penis/meatus. Also had a very sensitive urethra, still kind of tender, and felt like urine was getting stuck. And lastly, urine stream definitely changed since all of these symptoms began, my urine splits into 2 streams at the beginning and end of urination.

We should make a super-thread to consolidate all the various threads of people having this issue to help us find a resolution.

I recognize myself in everything you say except for the jet of urine. do you have pain in your groin too? can you post a photo of your redness that persists? I have a small one too

I also had skin rashes, like little yeast infections some time after sex. my skin is also dry/wrinkled and the opening at the tip of the penis is redder than before. I sometimes feel tingling at the orifice
