Hi,

First of all thank you for your time and sorry for the long post,

I'm a healthy 29y old male and in the past 8 months I've been having some problems when having sex. Around February I've noticed some cracks on my foreskin image, at the time i didn't thought much of it, and it eventually healed up, after that, every time i had my foreskin would always crack in the same spots with the same pattern, and it started to appear even more cracks imageimage, when they happen during sex, i can clearly feel them and it stings a little, but after the act, i would clean it with lukewarm water and i would only feel an occasional sting or 2, and, along with the cracks, i also feel the area where the cracks are very very raw and sensitive to the touch, the rest of the penis is fine. In the healing process, after 1 or 2 days, my skin would feel very dry, accompanied by some peeling skin where the cracks where imageimageimage, that area of the skin, eventually they would heal up, but the skin in that area looks a bit darker than the rest image, the dryness i would fight it with some moisturizer.

In all this months I've tried some approaches to tackle this without success, i used a cleaning solution with neutral PH and no fragrances, anti candida fungal ointment, topical steroid cream, fusidic acid and also elidel, already went to 2 different dermatologists, and the problem still persists, with a down side, that now, it seems to be getting worse as some dots started to appear on the glad imageimageimageimageimage and also on the foreskin area imageimage. Along with all of the this, the redder area of the skin sometimes when is dryer it also looks shinier. I'm posting here in hope of some advice of someone who has gone through the same thing. Before all of this, i had a normal sex life with no problems whatsoever.

Best regards, Thank you,

the same thing happened to my boyfriend. And when i went to the doctor i discovered i had a bacterial vaginosis. maybe your partner should treat herself and eventually youll get better. i do not have stis.

This keeps coming back. I tried the pimafucort cream mentioned earlier in the thread and that does not fix it. This is bacterial for sure. I was given a 7 day course of Augmentin and that fixed it previously. May need to go back to that again.

Here is the latest flare up

I landed to this discussion today and reading all about the infections here, i might also have similar issue, but my question is , if its infection, why the cuts/skin tears happen only when we have sex? not sure why this is happening all of sudden to me. i feel sad and scared to see mates here have it since long☹️. i started noticing them since a month, but cracks are bad this time and might take more time to heal. is it really infection?

Try to apply hydrocortisone (1% w/w)(10mg/g cream-corticosteroid). I am now 5 months free from this condition. I hope this can help you as well.

I have the same issue. Doctor said it's just because my skin on penis is extremely dry, asked me to apply Cetaphil regularly and when I see such cuts he suggested me to apply 1% hydrocortisone cream. this gave me good relief but not a permanent solution. then I visited urologist and he suggested me to undergo circumcision. he says the skin got tightened and need to be removed all round the penis top part. I might do that in a weeks time. I am worried but I don't see any remedy

i think this is is going to be the route i have to go down as well just waiting on my urology appointment.

Had a urologist appointment a few weeks back, it had to be done on the phone because of covid. He said it will likely have to be a full or partial circumcision to resolve the problem. I will have a follow-up appointment for him to see the issue in person.

Really? Just want to share my experience, this permanently cured my skin problem (with the same skin condition in this thread). But because I am afraid it will return/come back, I am still applying this cream even though cracking, red spots and itchiness were already gone.

I have just recently started having this same issue now a month in so i phoned the doctor and he prescribed dermol 500 to use in the shower and a steroid cream and referred me to urology he thinks the only real cure is circumcision which i find quite daunting , but something need to be done the cracks reopen every time i have sex and it becomes red and sore when i take a p**s then they start to heal up and the cycle begins again .

my worry is that ive read above people who are circumcised or have been as a suggested route of treatment and it hasnt solved it.

I've always been circumcised and it's unrelated to circumcision. It's simply a fungal/bacterial infection and must be treated vigorously as such. I am happy to share its curable!
