Penis foreskin cracks during sex, peeling skin, dots and spots [documented]

Hi,

First of all thank you for your time and sorry for the long post,

I'm a healthy 29y old male and in the past 8 months I've been having some problems when having sex. Around February I've noticed some cracks on my foreskin image, at the time i didn't thought much of it, and it eventually healed up, after that, every time i had my foreskin would always crack in the same spots with the same pattern, and it started to appear even more cracks imageimage, when they happen during sex, i can clearly feel them and it stings a little, but after the act, i would clean it with lukewarm water and i would only feel an occasional sting or 2, and, along with the cracks, i also feel the area where the cracks are very very raw and sensitive to the touch, the rest of the penis is fine. In the healing process, after 1 or 2 days, my skin would feel very dry, accompanied by some peeling skin where the cracks where imageimageimage, that area of the skin, eventually they would heal up, but the skin in that area looks a bit darker than the rest image, the dryness i would fight it with some moisturizer.

In all this months I've tried some approaches to tackle this without success, i used a cleaning solution with neutral PH and no fragrances, anti candida fungal ointment, topical steroid cream, fusidic acid and also elidel, already went to 2 different dermatologists, and the problem still persists, with a down side, that now, it seems to be getting worse as some dots started to appear on the glad imageimageimageimageimage and also on the foreskin area imageimage. Along with all of the this, the redder area of the skin sometimes when is dryer it also looks shinier. I'm posting here in hope of some advice of someone who has gone through the same thing. Before all of this, i had a normal sex life with no problems whatsoever.

Best regards, Thank you,

Following this thread closely too as I have the same problem. Please anyone who has found a remedy post what you did.

I've had this problem for about 2 months now. I am using a broad-spectrum antifungal cream twice daily, every day for the last 3 weeks with no improvement.

The next things I am going to try are:

      1. Change the soap - currently using DOVE as I saw someone else is using this too. I recently changed to this, not sure if its the problem but the smell is particularly harsh.
      2. Try not to split the skin any more. I haven't been able to go for more than a few days without the skin splitting. So this will require abstinence.
      3. Try to keep my foreskin pulled back while it heals. Cuts are directly below the glans and healing seems to be inhibited by skin folds.
      4. Red spots on glans.. Not sure what to do about these.

      Good luck everyone.

      Hi fellas,

i too suffered from the same. Came completely out of nowhere and my wife and i think it was because we'd used a condom that had just that month expired (was really dry). we think the friction caused a sore which became fungal invected.

took the advice from you all and pleased to announce after 10 days of treatment my foreskin is back to normal.

i took an canesten pill which in the UK is something prescribed to women to help remedy thrush, then applied the thrush cream all over my foreskin, then a thick layer of vasaline on top. this was cleaned and applied 2/3 times a day. we obstained from sex during this time also.

whilst the thrush treatment helped kill off the fungal infection, the vasaline helps to keep the penis moisturised.

taking it easy during sex for next couple months to make sure it doesnt come back. that includes applying vasaline after sex to be safe.

hope this helps you all. it appears to be something that can rectified, but it just takes time unfortunately.

any questions holla and will help anyway i can

    Hi,

First of all, ill share my developments over the last few weeks.

So far my condition has not shown signs of going away at all, but, i can tell you for sure that after i started using polysporin when the cuts flare up, I've noticed some improvements worth mentioning, as my skin seems to rupture less and has gotten stronger, i can still see some cuts appearing after sex, even without condom and i can hardly fell them (this taking into account that i always start slow to make sure it's well lubricated in order to avoid excessive friction or pull caused by dry skin on skin contact.

I've been postponing the biopsy, as after going to a dermatologist in order to do it, he said the autopsy would not show any useful information from his perspective.

For this particular condition, i can say that the exact specialist would be a dermatologist, because even if its in the penis is still skin, but, the urologist also has experience with issues in the skin on the penis, on account that a lot of men in the first appointment schedule it on a urologist as the issue is on the penis. I would say that if you got to one of them and the issue still persists, go to the other one, as they all have different experiences with patients and conditions and some opinions on this matter will always be welcome before doing any permanent procedure. That's why that after 2 and a half years i'm still trying to manage this issue instead of going to circumcision as per suggestion of the 2nd doctor I've visited, and you can also see by some other users that they also have this condition in spite of being already circumcised.

TL DR: I've tried polysporin and have seen some promising improvements (no permanent tho) but even with an active sexual life i can easily manage the issue with it.

It seems weird that they would suggest an a biopsy multiple times and then back peddle saying that it wouldn't show anything useful. Is there any way you can go for the biopsy anyways? I'm sure you might be happy as would we if we could rule anything else out.

Agreed, iI don't think circumcision will fix the problem as I have been circumcised since birth and still contracted it.

I've been to a dermatologist too and still say that in my condition a biopsy would not tell anything. But now I'm in doubt if are they able to correctly read a biopsy. I've tried everything, from antibiotics to topical creams and nothing worked. I've no cracks on foreskin nor symptoms, just a dry skin that never heals, and I'm thinking about an autoimmune condition, but the doctors are not helping, cause they say that I does not have any signs, just dry skin and this is difficult to understand, but honestly does not thing that this thing goes beyond the XXI age medicine

fungal infection. i went to my doctor and was prescribed antibiotic topical ointment and a Prescription for ointment that is for cuts and abrasions. since using the antibiotic i have no more cracks, dry skin and the fungal infection is gone! Mine was caused from a nic while shaving (i shave my pubic area) and not properly storing my razor. i extensively cleaned my shower, threw away my razor, use antibacterial soap when washing, made sure there was no cross contamination etc. this shouldnt take multiple doctors to figure this out

its been two days and all signs of anything are completely gone. i will however use this as directed by my doctor. i am already a clean person. but this has really opened up my eyes to fungus and bacteria. making sure that things like a razor, wash cloth etc are kept clean and changed out more than i already do. great post here and i hope others can get relief

also, on tuesday i have scheduled a complete blood test (which i do yearly anyways). things to be tested for will be diseases, vitamin deficiency, diabetes, testosterone levels etc. a simple blood test can rule out things that can also cause these issues that some of us are or have Experienced

i went to my regular doctor who has been my doctor since i was in my teens (i am now 39). he performs my physicals, blood work any other medical issues that i have (which isnt much since i am a healthy person) this fungal issue is a first for me and led me to believe that i had done something wrong. he assured me that this was not an issue of me being not a clean person. like i said before though, i have changed my habits with my wash cloth, razor, soap etc. if i ever see the emergency room or a hospital i make sure that they transfer files to him. it is important to establish a primary care doctor. it is concerning that a few on here have been dealing with this for years. my girlfriend also went in and got checked out by her doctor a couple days ago and came back with a clean bill of health.

Thanks to OP for starting this thread to begin with but THANK YOU SO MUCH Charlie for sharing your story and your remedy so I wouldn't have to suffer like others have for long being misled by doctors and wasting money. I had one visit where I quickly realized doc was clueless as to cause since wasn't STDs so then I research myself next day and I read your post and then had clueless doctor prescribe same thing yours did to me and after two days dry rough skin, cracks, and skin peeling went away that had started spreading across penis and skin elasticity, firmness, moisture, and smoothness returned to normal. I continued treatment as prescribed still and I am good now.
