Penis foreskin cracks during sex, peeling skin, dots and spots [documented]

Hi,

First of all thank you for your time and sorry for the long post,

I'm a healthy 29y old male and in the past 8 months I've been having some problems when having sex. Around February I've noticed some cracks on my foreskin image, at the time i didn't thought much of it, and it eventually healed up, after that, every time i had my foreskin would always crack in the same spots with the same pattern, and it started to appear even more cracks imageimage, when they happen during sex, i can clearly feel them and it stings a little, but after the act, i would clean it with lukewarm water and i would only feel an occasional sting or 2, and, along with the cracks, i also feel the area where the cracks are very very raw and sensitive to the touch, the rest of the penis is fine. In the healing process, after 1 or 2 days, my skin would feel very dry, accompanied by some peeling skin where the cracks where imageimageimage, that area of the skin, eventually they would heal up, but the skin in that area looks a bit darker than the rest image, the dryness i would fight it with some moisturizer.

In all this months I've tried some approaches to tackle this without success, i used a cleaning solution with neutral PH and no fragrances, anti candida fungal ointment, topical steroid cream, fusidic acid and also elidel, already went to 2 different dermatologists, and the problem still persists, with a down side, that now, it seems to be getting worse as some dots started to appear on the glad imageimageimageimageimage and also on the foreskin area imageimage. Along with all of the this, the redder area of the skin sometimes when is dryer it also looks shinier. I'm posting here in hope of some advice of someone who has gone through the same thing. Before all of this, i had a normal sex life with no problems whatsoever.

Best regards, Thank you,

Hey, I m a 21 yo and im actually have a similar problem but i believe it was due to the use of steroid creams. It started on august 28th and has been recurrent since. I had unprotected sex and didn't clean under my foreskin before going to sleep. I had a bad breakout of white stuff but it usually heals fast so i didn't think much of it but it got worse as days went by. I went to the doctor and was prescribed lotimin for a week and had no results. I went back and was prescribed hydrocortizone and was told to combine both. I did that for about 1-2 more weeks and noticed my skin was stretchier so i stopped using it. Now my skin is always tender. it does occasionally crack but i do still get white occasional bumps and red dots on the glands. Im really not sure if i still have a fungal infection or if i just got skin atrophy/thinning from the steroid creams. Ive been using coconut oil, neosporin, and vaseline. no improvement. At this point im desperate. I have red/tender looking akin under my foreskin 24/7. it sucks.

I am writing about the process of dealing with and healing the cracks and not the cause of it.

Regardless of the cause, the healing must be same for everyone.

I have similar problem in regards to cracks on foreskin, and I know the cause in my case.

My problem is seasonal and is due to dryness. Every winter I end up developing cracks at least once because no matter how well I try, due to one reason or another, I fail to moisturize and end up developing cracks.

Okay, now to the healing part:

The culprit for the vicious cycle is scarring. If you don't take the proper care and don't allow proper time for healing, the scarring will be more than normal in extent and eventually you will end up doing strictures and will not be able to retract the foreskin the way you used to.

So, what should you do to heal the cracks properly -

    1. Clean and wash your private parts with lukewarm water and mild soap as frequently as you can.
    2. After cleaning & washing, wipe the affected area with soft clothe or towel.
    3. Apply a prescribed amount of topical cream or ointment any other form of topical medicine that is prescribed to you by your doctor. If you are sure like me that the cause of your condition is just dryness, apply lowest strength steroid cream/ointment.
    4. Now this is the must and most important part: After applying a proper medication as of above point #3, if possible wait for 5-10 minutes to let it dry and absorb a bit. Don't wear any clothing, including you underwear. 5-10 minutes after you apply the medicine (or immediately in case you are in hurry to go out and put on clothing) apply a plentiful (at least size of 2 or 3 peas) Vaseline or any non-medicated, additive less (including any kind of perfume) petroleum jelly over the medicine that you have already applied as of point #3. Now this will help in 2 ways, 1st, it will cover the medicine and will protect it from getting wiped off due to your skin rubbing with your clothing. 2nd, it will keep your skin moisturized. Applying a lot of petroleum jelly is definitely going to soil your underwear, but, believe me, it is going to do wonders.

Keeping your skin moisturized is one of the most important parts of healing process. Scarring is a poor form of renovation that our body carries out after an injury. Steroids help by checking the speed and by controlling the collateral damage and pain that is caused by inflammatory cells. This applies for any part of the skin over your body. If your cuts and cracks are deep and very painful, you may apply a cotton bandage to cover the area after application of medicine followed by petroleum jelly.

I am recommending overuse of petroleum jelly here because you have to keep sure not to allow your skin to go dry. And because of constant friction and rubbing against your clothing, the normal moisturizer will not be effective.

You may apply bandage, but bandage may not be comfortable, may come off and/or will need frequent adjusting and checking.

Anyhow, REMEMBER, moisture is also one of the very best friends of fungi and bacteria. So, you will need to clean and repeat the procedure as frequent as you can (at least 3 times a day). You should judge for yourself in deciding between what is a proper moisturization vs what is damp/wet that may lead to infections. Once your cracks heal, moisturize but don't over moisturize.

And last but not the least, if you have fungal infection and/or are prone to fungal infections, please avoid steroids alone and see a doctor. Fungal infection/ring worm on foldings of your body (like groin, armpits, under the breast) are different thing than having fungal infection on your penis. For other parts you may take over the counter medicine, but don't take any chance when it comes to your penis.

I used to experience this after having intense sexual affair with my partner. But it stopped when I started applying Lub on penis before intercourse.

I just scheduled an appointment with a Urologist for Tuesday. I'll report back what I find out.

I do not have health insurance so I'm paying out of pocket but after discussing it with the staff over the phone my initial visit will only cost me $175 and $80 for additional visits.

I'm excited to get this resolved no matter the cost.

I'll updated the details Tuesday evening. 12/17/19

ask for pimecrolimus cream 1%... it worked for me and it wont hurt to try because its not a steroid that will thin your skin. also heard it reverses atrophy

Having had a similar experience my first thought is that you have phimosis where the foreskin tightens around the glans and when retracted (masturbation or sex) the skin breaks in small areas to allow it to retract. I labored with this for years before I yielded and was circumcised.Efforts to stretch were unsuccessful. Good luck. In my case I asked that I not be given a close cut and the surgeon accommodated me. However with the passing of years the foreskin stretched and again tightened and I had to have it repeated.Suggest not to do that!Get a close cut.
