Hi,
First of all thank you for your time and sorry for the long post,
I'm a healthy 29y old male and in the past 8 months I've been having some problems when having sex. Around February I've noticed some cracks on my foreskin , at the time i didn't thought much of it, and it eventually healed up, after that, every time i had my foreskin would always crack in the same spots with the same pattern, and it started to appear even more cracks , when they happen during sex, i can clearly feel them and it stings a little, but after the act, i would clean it with lukewarm water and i would only feel an occasional sting or 2, and, along with the cracks, i also feel the area where the cracks are very very raw and sensitive to the touch, the rest of the penis is fine. In the healing process, after 1 or 2 days, my skin would feel very dry, accompanied by some peeling skin where the cracks where , that area of the skin, eventually they would heal up, but the skin in that area looks a bit darker than the rest , the dryness i would fight it with some moisturizer.
In all this months I've tried some approaches to tackle this without success, i used a cleaning solution with neutral PH and no fragrances, anti candida fungal ointment, topical steroid cream, fusidic acid and also elidel, already went to 2 different dermatologists, and the problem still persists, with a down side, that now, it seems to be getting worse as some dots started to appear on the glad and also on the foreskin area . Along with all of the this, the redder area of the skin sometimes when is dryer it also looks shinier. I'm posting here in hope of some advice of someone who has gone through the same thing. Before all of this, i had a normal sex life with no problems whatsoever.
Best regards, Thank you,

update: i healed up and im basically back to form.
Dermatologist prescribed pimecrolimus cream 1% and it helped a lot. Also, NO neosporin down there.

This is becoming a bizarre self help community! Lol. Exact same problems as original poster and many others. Just wondering how many of us are Diabetic?? I am and have thought it may lie inside that realm of possibilities. I also have a low Potassium issue. Glad i found this forum as many probably are. I thought i was freakishly alone in my problem.

I am not but that was one of the first questions the Urologist asked me.

I put up with it far too long. You won't want to do that! I got a loose cut (as opposed to a tight one) and have never regretted it. Keep us posted.

Went to the Urologist on Friday. We went over everything and he prescribed me Ketoconazole cream 2% applied twice daily. He said that this was a strong cream and should clear it up. I have a follow up appointment in 3 weeks. He said that if it is not cleared up by then, he will refer me to a dermatologist.
I'll post updates along the way.

I had a similar but also somewhat different problem than the OP. I had dry, red and often flaky skin on the glans. I also do have a few chronic red spots on the glans. I have some minor cracks in the tip of my foreskin, but those were never a big problem in my case.
I found out the cause in my case. I have a chronic thyroid illness (Hashimoto's thyroiditis) and despite having relatively normal TSH, T3 and T4 values in my blood, I had several hypothyroidism symptoms (hypothyroidism = underactive thyroid). After five days of taking 25 μg L-Thyroxin (substitution of T4) my skin has healed substantially and now produces much more natural "moisture" by itself (the T4-substitution is also already helping with many other mysterious health problems I had).
Maybe you can look up the symptoms of hypothyroidism (one can find several symptom lists on the internet), and if you find yourself there, talk with a doctor about it and get your thyroid checked

Ive had the issue for awhile.
I saw my doctor who recommended vagisil cream.
It helps during the healing process.
Make sure you apply it after shower and the area is dry.
Be warned that it can be a mess when you urinate.
It helps keep the area moist while it heals and kills the fungal infection. ****

I've had the same issue for just about 4 weeks now and am beginning to get properly worried. Is there any remedies that people have found?

I just switched my soap to from Irish spring to Dove sensitive skin and at night I'm using the vagisil cream to keep the skin around the penis from cracking and getting any fungal infection.
I noticed after 2 showers that the skin does not crack or fell painful or itchy. Maybe it's the weather change mixed with a harsh soap? I'll post back in a week and let you know if things are better.

Thanks for the reply! I'll definitely try what you're trying. I noticed that lotion definitely agitates the area. I've been putting on antibiotics in the area before bed and, while it has helped, it hasn't eliminated the issue.

Have any of you guys had any other issues like flu type symptoms or any other marks on your body like your head, face, the trunk of your body? I have had this for years but it comes and goes I am currently OK, I decided to ask for my medical records went through them and think I have a staph infection that's ran wild for years, now I'm not saying you have it but it's worth mentioning if you suffered from recurrent tonsillitis have had skin problems in the past, it's just a swab and something to rule out, hope you get answers.

Ive found something that worked for me, and maybe you should try it. The three creams i used was Lotrimn AF, Hydrocortisone cream with Aloe (you could find both at walgreens and at NIGHT Eucerin Eczema Relief.. it took about a week to see fast results. I used the Lotrimn mixed with the Hydrocortisone.. Morning, evening and Night.. but before you go to sleep, i put a dab of the Eucerin on. The whole is that it isn't dry down there.
During that period NO kinds of sexual activity. ONLY clean under the foreskin in the shower and peel back SLOWLY and GENTLY so the ripping doesnt get worse. Allow the cracks to help and ALWAYS KEEP IT MOISTURIZIED DOWN THERE WITH THE CREAMS

So is there still no cure or technical name for this?? Also is it dangerous if left unsolved, what could it lead to?
