Dear Ladies

I am sharing my two year perimenopause  dairy on this forum. Hopefully it will help some of us ladies shed some  light on our symptoms which I have been noted on my day to day life for over two years.

my symptoms started about three years ago, I am a young 51 years old, when I first talk to my doctor about my symptoms he didn't believe it was perimenopause instead he put it all down to stress.

my symptoms started with bloating, skin itchiness, mood swings, hives, body rash, breast  pains, bone pain, periods every three weeks, body heat.

my symptoms would appear suddenly and after a few days it disappear.

Each time a new symptoms would come up, to include,( headache, migraine type), tight scalp, leg pain, loss of intimacy, abdominal pain, nipple soreness/tenderness, wrist/elbow pain, ankle pains,

Lately I have been experiencing, blood pressure fluctuations, burning sensations in my mouth, dry mouth, panick attacks, fear when I'm alone, crashing  fatigue, loss of energy.

Loss of appetite, nausea, gastric problems.

I  Also get flu like symptoms, tiredness, dry eyes, sadness.

Shoulder pains, thinning hair,

doctors have done lots of tests and cannot find anything wrong with me.

    Hi Kadija

I feel your pain , the only symptom you have not had or have not noted is heart racing /palpitations ,. I have had all you have written down and the heart issues .

It’s a horrible stage of life and it makes you loose friends as I choose not to speak to my friend who last week said it’s a mind over matter the menopause , really that’s like saying to a person who’s depressed give yourself a good shake ...

Keep up the fight we will all do this together 💕

      Hi clare

i missed this one, heart palps, I had all kinds of ECG done, and heart X-rays, blood works, all is fine. It happens sometimes at night, or days on end, scary stuff.

      Hi Clare,

I'm not too bad this week. Battling on and trying to feel as human as possible!

      How are you feeling?

Do you get to talk about how you are feeling and what your symptoms are out if this forum?

Sometimes, we need a good ear, some reassurance and a big hug!

This is my life; especially elbow pain and dry mouth with awful taste added, as well as a million other symptoms. I am I think coming up to 3 years in on this Peri nightmare. I had to give up work 1 year ago as symptoms were just too intense. I am 46 and three months into HRT(Ellest 1mg). I feel so alone and like I am terrified to be alone as the panic attacks are so bad. Love to you all. ❤️

Hi Lisa I’m 2 years into hrt conti patches, they have helped with hot flashes and dizziness but that’s about it. I have every other symptom going. It’s a nightmare. Joint pain and sleepless nights are worse for me. Hate been on my own like you due to extreme health anxiety. I think if I’m on my own I’m going to die or have a heart attack. Hate feeling this way but this forum is a god send xx

Lisa, have you ever considered bio-identical hormones?  Synthetic aren't recognized very well by the body and that might be why you aren't feeling better.

Hi caseynjason, where would I get bio identical hormones from? Is it my GP? Honestly they are worse than useless; I had to beg for HRT as they said I am too young at 46 to be having Peri symptoms. Are you in the UK? I am and just wonder what my next step should be. Naturopath maybe, so fed up. Thanks for your reply. ❤️

When I am on the Progesterone part of the HRT I have bundles of energy but have extreme thirst and dry mouth which increases panic attacks but once back on Oestrogen I crash after about 5 days, so really confused what to do for the best. Some days I honestly have to say I feel suicidal

I am in the US, and I had to go to my local compounding pharmacy to get their suggestions on Dr's who is prescribed through them.  I am about to write up a new post because my visit today went so well.  I am not fully menopausal, though my levels show I am, but the Dr. said she didn't need numbers, because I shouldn't be feeling this way.  None of us should!!  She said she doesn't even draw labs after we start because she just goes with how we are feeling; we know our bodies better than anyone.  She prescribed me 3 mg of Biest and 200 mg of progesterone and said that should take care of most of my symptoms, and we will adjust as we go along.  She was amazing.  She told me to put down my labs that I had in my hand; I was ready to fight to prove my point, and said I am interested in you as a person and how you are feeling.  I almost cried.  It has taken me 4 years to get here.  Don't ever give up and accept that it is okay to feel this badly.  I have been to naturopaths, Dr.s, Hormone clinics, and this is the first time I've been actually SEEN as me, a woman, suffering, and knows her hormones are not okay.
