    Hi Michelle,

How are you feeling now? I am experiencing the same internal tremor and it has caused me extreme anxiety. It seems to have just appeared but does seem to be more intense before my cycle. I am only 40 but over the last year I have started to have some crazy symptoms and I am wondering if I am starting perimenopause. I would love to hear from you! Thanks in advance.

Hi, I'm so glad I found this forum. For the past 2 years I have experienced the internal shaking, and head sweats, I also experienced the constant physical jerking when I was falling asleep, the slightest noise appeared to be amplified to the point i would jump in shock. I first went to my gp thinking I had something seriously wrong with me, he said "your depressed and put me on sertraline (not sure of the spelling) within a week I stopped taking them, they agrivated the symptoms making them worse, he then put me on citralopram which did help a little, he then advised me to stop taking them after 6 months as the symptoms had lessened.Within 2 months I was back to square 1, I went back to the gp and explained The symptoms had returned and I don't think this is depression as I have nothing to be depressed about apart from these feelings I am experiencing and I want all my bloods tested, within 48 hours of having my bloods done I received a call from my gp informing me that I was B12 deficient and needed to start the loading injections ASAP, I thought great, eventually the cause has been found.. Well after all the injections , and the ones I have now 3 monthly, symptoms still persist. So I went back to the gp and told him I'm not crazy but something is defiantly not right, these feelings I told you about have not gone away, now he is telling me that I am suffering from anxiety, I told him the feelings make me anxious as I'm not sure why I am constantly trembling inside, the only way I could describe it to him was " sit in a car with the engine running, place your hands on the steering wheel and feel the vibration, I have that all over, worse at bedtime to the point some nights I can't go to bed. Currently taking medication for high blood pressure, lisinopril and amlodapine the gp has prescribed me propranolol 10mg 3 x daily, which does help but has not cured the problem.im sure the gp thinks I'm going crazy...

I totally understand your situation as well as the many other posts that were read. Almost 2 1/2 years now of tremors, and 20 other physical issues and I’m barely standing. This is definitely hormonal. Hormones “dump” into the body in the morning so when you get up it is one of the shakiest moments.

Hi r17827 what did you do for your hormones? i have these shakes on the morning also, to the point where its impossible to eat. My hands shakes, legs so weak its hard to.stand, intestine messed.up where the shakes makes trigger my bowels to be diarreaha. What helped you?

Dawn - my story is so similar to yours. The internal vibrating wakes me up sometimes at 4 am! I am hopefully going to start BHRT soon. Have you found any relief yet?

Hi Dawn...I just read your post and I'm thinking "OMG, that's me!".  The only difference is that I've been battling these tremors for over 4 years now and keep going back to my family doctor and neurologist and they are both at a loss.  I also was told that I have depression and anxiety. I explain to them that the only thing I have to be depressed about is my health problems that nobody seems to be able to figure out.  I do agree that it has caused me to become anxious.  My symptoms also include extreme fatigue, insomnia, ringing in my ears that never goes away.  I've tried several different types of medications that the doctors have prescribed, but none seem to work.  I take multi vitamins, B Vitamins, Probiotics and Vitamin D.  My friends tell me it's all menopause related.  I don't know where else to turn.  I feel as if I'm going crazy.  Some days I can't even function at work and can't wait to get home and go straight to bed.  Can anyone out there offer some solace?

So I'm going to look for a new GYN that specializes in perimenopause. I think my current GYN just doesn't get it. I've been with her since I was 19 and have stated with her because it's familiar. But Everytime I try to talk to her about these changes I feel not listened to. Maybe the same would help you. Now I have to face the problem if finding someone. I did a search online for GYN's that specialize in perimenopause and menopause and I found a doctor. So I might give that a try.

You sound exactly like me!!!!!!! I  began fighting with my Doctor about it not being anxiety. I may be worried about the vibrating, who wouldn’t be, but I have been going to them for 25 years for flus and kids and I have never been accused of being a Nervous Nellie! I changed Dr’s and I will continue to til I find a solution. I think we all should! I think it’s mind blowing that on this forum and others, that by now. OnDoctor has heard of this! It’s maddening and incompetent on heir part to think all women are so sensitive we decide to start vibrating!

A co-worker suggested a gyn. They will begin accepting my particular insurance until May 1st. I have an appt on May 3rd! I will say that the vibrating and crazy symptoms have been gone after my last period ended and that was almost a month ago. The symptoms have not come back. I'm still planning to keep my appt though. I do believe it's not a bad idea to at least listen to what this other doctor has to say. I'm 48 and am fairly consistent still with having my periods; although they have definitely changed over the year. I know things will continue to change as I enter into this new stage of my life and I want to be as informed as possible. Good luck to you!

I'm 48 my life changed march of last year.. when palpitations started..  had my first missed p in may , since its been down hill. I have the internal tremor , i have a vibrations in my left breast , I'm anxious all the time , depression , mood change fear .. the only thing i don't   have is hot flashes.. i had one month in the summer with what i called internal heat .  I just felt hot on the inside.  It has been a living hell.  I never know from one day to the nexted how i will feel. Since this all started I'm on a beta blocker for the fast heart beat and skips.  klonipin at night to sleep, I have always had anxiety   but never like this ,I take pristique because lexapro stopped working . I dont see gyno till April and for some reason they are always so against doing hormone levels.  I find there is a doubble standard doe us as woman , becuse my hubby can have his tested when ever he is feeling like crap and can be giving all kinds of options for testosterone replacement .

Hi Kris - I strongly suggest you find another doctor who will prescribe bio identical FDA approved estradiol (estrogen).  This will help you immensely - as I had all the same symptoms. Your estrogen levels might test "normal" but since you are having symptoms - the levels are not normal for what YOUR body needs. I found relief with the Vivelle Dot patch (I am currently on .075) and Lexapro 10 mg. I've gotten my life mostly back smile thanks to this treatment.

I'm on BHRT and although I don't get hot sweats any more, I get cold shivers and the most horrendous anxiety. It's never ending.

Hi Mrs. Susan - I am 52...I got the internal tremors and other symptoms almost a year ago (March 23) at 51. But My understanding is that you can get this in Perimenopause too.
