I signed up just to reply to this forum. Any other women experience these after giving birth?! Or am I just the lucky one person who has? It's taken about 4-5 months for them to almost completely go away (after my period has returned) but I wanted to see if any first time mom's had this reaction to hormonal change? I went to several doctors, had MRIs and was convinced I had a neurological disease. They were worst at night falling asleep and anxiety and stress often made them worse as well.

    Oh my goodness!!!

I am so grateful to you Michelle for raising this. ...

I noticed I have been having this tremor for a few weeks and have been really concerned.

I mainly get it at night and can hardly sleep due to the anxiety and constant thoughts going through my mind wondering what it could possibly be. Have recently began experiencing it during the day too.

I called my GP today requesting blood tests which I now have booked for next week.

Your question with the responses have put my mind at rest and now I feel I can accept it as part of the perimenopause.

    I am so very grateful.

I was feeling the same way. Doctor after doctor and all telling me everything was fine. Well, I was shaking like a leaf internally, how could everything be fine? The more I worried, the worse it got.

I will tell you, it has gotten way better in the last month. I have been battling this for several months, worried I had MS or worse. However, I wrote a letter to a wonderful doctor that I found after reading an article. He actually wrote me back. To sum it up... he has seen several patients with internal vibrations, tremors and most just go away. Never knowing the cause. He told me to stop going to doctors because at some point something will come back "abnormal." I agreed. So, I started to except my weird tremors and they have gotten better. I do feel its possibly anxiety and hormones. I am 43. I have 3 kids. Everything is changing. My worry is awful. I go from a headache to thinking I have a brain tumor. So, keep hope. Keep talking about it to others. Share your story, laugh about it. B***h to your friends about it, then just maybe, it will start to fad.

      BEST OF LUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have been having these internal tremors for over a year, now. I am 57 and have been menopausal for nearly 2 years. These tremors have been getting worse, lately and has become a daily occurance. I wake up in the middle of the night and I feel so ill from my body just vibrating (only on the inside). I feel it is something with the nervous system as if something is attacking my body. I feel so tired from these episodes. I had mentioned this to my PA that specializes in menopausal problems and she's never heard of it? My regular PA also didn't know. These are doctors from a top 10 hospital in America. Maybe this is something other than a menopausal problem? It didn't start until after I went into menopause, so I relating it to it.

I haven't gone through all of the posts, so was wondering if anyone else experiences this and what is the best method to try to alleviate this. Someone mentioned using l-Theanine on another site, but it didn't help. The only thing that helps, but only temporarily is if I hold my breath for 20 seconds and slowly release the air (while I have the worst episodes). But they come back after a while. Any ideas and recommendations would be great.

I hear ya. most doctors don't know what you are talking about. I know it is anxiety and hormone related. I spoke to a wonderful doctor in the Rhode Island area that says that he sees this problem and mostly goes away on it's own.

keep breathing, keep eating right, keep talking about it to others.

i know it will get better.

I'm 55 and I've had these tremors on and off over the last 5 years. Finally stopped my period early this year, so am hoping that I'll soon see the other side of it. I notice that they flare up in particularly stressful times. For me, I get them during the night, wake up 4-5 times in the night to the feeling of shaking- often after a dream, but just an average dream - not anything scary. I do the deep breathing into the part of my body that is shaking, and after about 3 breaths, it stops. My heart beat is never racing, which always puzzled me if this would be related to anxiety. But I truly think it is. Often I feel like its the "Wack a Mole Game" where you stop shaking in one area, only to start up in another a couple minutes later . For me, I have found three things that reduce the frequency and intensity greatly : CBD, broad spectrum 10 mg in the morning (helps with the anxiety) and at night ~500 mg of magnesium citrate and L-theanine (100 mg). I think we are just prone to underlying anxiety that our hormones helped us through before. Now, we're kinda on our own to get through it!

I like the comment that someone else mentioned that said her doctor told her to stop taking tests because they will always find some abnormality and it will drive you down a rabbit hole of more tests and anxiety. I truly believe this. I've told my symptoms to about 5 different doctors who really couldn't come up with any true diagnosis. One was sure it was sleep apnea. Two sleep tests later, it wasn't.

Try not to be more anxious. Go to bed knowing that you will have them during the night, it is your body changing, and try to breathe and relax through it all.

      I hope my suggestions help.

The facebook group is called Power-Surge, For Women Going Through Perimenopause and Menopause.

So glad that you managed to find the kind of HRT that has helped you.
