Anyone have the symptoms of shortness of breath with chest tightness, (air hunger) with lots of belching after eating? If so please describe... And does it get better? Mine started like 3 weeks ago and it's awful feels like i can't get a deep enough breath.

I'm also experiencing food allergies/sensitivities also to soaps and flowers and different smells, all make me choke/ cough and feels like chest tightness. Never ever have I had asthma in my life but feels like it now! My anxiety/ panic attacks are bad, antibodies are high for rheumatoid arthritis, and hashimotos, just don't know how to deal with all these new symptoms that keep getting thrown at me other than to sit and cry, cry cry! Anyone else having similar issues??? Are these symptoms all consistent with the menopause change??

apologies for jumping onto the back of your post however, i’m really hoping someone can help me please?

i’m 47 years old in 2017 I had a full hysterectomy, this left me with one ovary that works.

after a couple of years I started suffering from what a doctor thinks is menopause symptoms, I was struggling to sleep I was waking up raging hot at night feeling like my head on my face and most of my body was on fire,I felt nauseous, tired, very foggy head like, I’m very foggy head liked, my boobs out I was generally exhausted, I was prescribed a gel called Estrogel it was only a very small dose and after 48 hours of taking it I found that I could sleep I was prescribed a gel called Estrogel it was only a very small dose and after 48 hours of taking it I found that I could sleep I didn’t have a hot flushes and I felt less tired.

now four years on from that hysterectomy something very strange is going on in my body......

A couple of times this has happened now to the point I have been rushed off in an ambulance after people dialling 999 as I was left in such pain under my rib cage and chest area, i’ve had lots of ECGs done, and lots of bloods done when I arrived at the hospital, primarily they were looking for serious things such as heart problems but they said they can’t find anything wrong, it has been suggested by one of the A&E doctors that it could be muscular skeletal pain.

does anyone else suffer with this?

I get a pain that appears between my chest and my rib cage it says through to my back it makes me feel very sick and the pain can be very severe to the point it has almost brought me to tears, I was in so much pain that I took ibuprofen and after about 30 minutes the pain subsided, I found that when I eat food is sometimes taking 40 hours to go through my body, I didn’t realise this until the other day when I had eaten sweetcorn then almost 2 full days later it exited by body evident of what I’d eaten, this allowed me to track how long it took to process through my body.

i’ve suffered with bloating, excess stomach acid but not heartburn, unfortunately I also suffer from diverticular disease, pernicious anaemia, polycystic ovarian syndrome and I also have insulin-dependent diabetes.

I suffer with bloating and fullness after eating I have also found that I have been burping a lot more almost like I’m producing far more air, sometimes it will travel downwards but for the most part it feels as though it’s sits in my upper digestive tract almost in my stomach area, does anyone else suffer with this? it can be extremely debilitating and very little help shift it.

i’m really getting to the point of I’m not sure how much more I can take and I’m trying to find out if any other ladies are presenting with menopause symptoms are actually suffering in the same way as I am.

I'm trying to work out if it’s far more common than anyone would believe, as what I am describing aren't classed as regular menopause symptoms but obviously us ladies know that sometimes even things listed don’t always pertain to how we sometimes suffer.

any advice or experiences would be very very gratefully received thanks for listening to my whining!

i have all of those symptoms plus others, too many to list, ive had so many tests and scans etc, ibufprofen wont do your reflux any good x

when you said diverticular disease, it made me think of this friend of mine who suffered from it and many othet stomach issues. He and many many other people I know swore the blood type diet cured them completely. First, its not a "diet" to lose weight but a lifestyle change to eat foods that your blood type shows you can digest. But there is also a second book by this Italian author where within the foods you can eat bases on your bloodtype, you cant eat certain foods together at the same time. Research it!

these symptoms sound like GERD or acid reflux. very common onset during peri/menopause. ive gotten prescription Prilosec in the past and its helped a lot. now i just have a box of otc prilosec for flare ups every once in a while.

Iam suffering from many of the symptoms since a year now. like many of you ladies ongoing investigations without anything touchwood. Still has many symptomsgoing on and everyday is a struggle but thought I'll share some of the stuff that works for me, homeopathic carbo veg 200 for the air hunger/ gas issues and aconite 200 for the panic attacks.

I try to stay away from pharmaceuticals as much as I can and opt for alternative medicines as much as I can, but im very careful with natural medicines too.

Prayers and hugs , we are all in this together and we will get through this ❤🙏

      Hi priya

Prayers & hugs to you too. Ive been struggling this past year too... first lots of bloating & then acid reflux, throat closing feeling, panic attacks/depression and now neck, jaw, ear & head tension. I can't sleep past 3 or 4am. I have never heard these symptoms as being perimenopausal so i never suspected it last year....i wish our doctors were more educated & helpful in women's stuff. I agree the homeopathic remedies help. How are you doing? Have you looked into bioidentical hormone therapy? I just started a week ago. Sending out hugs & support & comfort....i know how hard it is & wish we had an in person women's support group. ❤

What a relief to find this forum!!

Like so many on here, I literally thought that I was losing the plot!

I am nearing 48 and the breathlessness that so many of you discuss is happening to me. I had Covid last December and shortness of breath has definitely been worse since then. I felt I was controlling I better since a few weeks back....A new pet kitten joined our family and since that my bouts of desperately trying to find that much needed deep breath have been awful. Is it perhaps that I have developed an allergy to our little bundle of fur. we have had pets before and I have never suffered...Last night I also had an awful dry mouth and difficulty swallowing which really caused me to panic. Generally during the day I am fine but like a lot of you, I dread going to bed as it starts again! I have started my period today, so maybe that also answers my particularly bad experience last night. I have been grateful for the recent mild weather, as my comfort is sitting in the garden in the evenings which does help but can't imagine doing this in December!! At least in finding this, I can take comfort that I am not alone...x

I have been feeling horrible for 2.5 years now. I rarely have a good day. 4-5 days prior to my period seem to get even worse. Constant chest pressure, constant stomach bloating and nausea. Feeling of throat being full to swallow. Similar to that "feel like starting to get a soar throat" feeling. Have had endoscopy, colonoscopy. On acid medicine even though things looked fine. Have seen cardiologist, ENT and now neck doctor. Many days I can't function because of the brain fog. Had blood work done 4x in a week and WBC kept getting higher with first three. Then number 4, back to normal. The leg pain during certain times that radiates from the groin. I have to have a Cystology to check bladder because I have had microscopic blood in urine for 2 years (not sure if anyone else has experienced that). going today to see a new internist, maybe a set of new eyes. Hope everyone gets the answers and relief you need!!!

WOW! All the symptoms seem to consume you! But Dr's all swear it can't be related to hormones....WHAT? But they can't find anything either!

I thank ypu so much for this forum. I could've written it myself. word for word. I've always struggled with anxiety and now Generalized anxiety. it never stops. I wake up by 5 am can breathe and I struggle to take a breath all day

seems like the xanax helps very little. feels like I have to yawn to get my breath. I haven't found a Dr yet that is helpful. feels like im a burden to them. going to my last ob was like being in a McDonald's drive thru. you get what you get and get out. it is a constant non stop thought that I am not getting enough air. reading that women are also having my same symptoms is refreshing. not that I would want my worst enemy to go through this but at least I dont feel alone. my insurance sucks and im waiting now to get it changed. I know little about my family history so it makes it hard to know what to except. I hope its just peri. but it feels unbelievable menopause could cause all of this.

shortness of breath (constant), only skin, acne, missed periods, mood swings, insomnia, extreme fatigue (very unlike me, until now I dont think I have ever napped), oily and thinning hair, the list goes on and on. Im glad to know that others are experiencing this it eases my mind. btw.. im only 40!!!!

So many unhelpful conventional doctors & obgyns.... that's been my experience too. It's so hard. Ive been trying to get help for a year. Hang in there & seek out other help.... functional doctors & naturopathic doctors actually do testing & treat hormones & look at you holistically.
