PIP ASSESSMENT FAIL

Posted , 9 users are following.

Got report back last Friday and was amazed by the lies in it, missing out meds, not noting new meds. Normal head & neck movement yet on med records it says restricted movement. Good to know a nurse as said I will get better when specialist said the opposite. I took a friend and I held on to her as my balance isnt to good. Yet he says its 20 meters from waiting room to interview room and I managed it on my own.I am so angry. Phoned ATOS and asked about starting an offical complaint as PIP told me.

Also waiting for phone call from case manager from PIP. I will fight this & I will contact my local mp. I cannot believe the gov still as ATOS doing assessments. Has anyone else had this problem and how did it end. Thanks for reading x

      Hi debzz65.

Glad ur doing MR by letter. Mine was over phone which i've been told is a no no. I understand how you feel sweet I have depression.

All I can say is when you

Do letter send as much as you can to support your claim. If ur not sure contact ur local CAB.

I found what I thought was a good site but when it came to asking them for advice got told to check internet. So I phoned CAB and they are great.

Fingers cross all go well for you sweet. X

Hey paula, sorry to hear about your PIP claim. I went through a similar experience. I went to an assessment, got a decision in which the decision maker stated the reasoning being why I got no points was because of what was said in the report. i read it and it was full of contradictory infomation. I fail to understand why they bother to get people to fill out a PIP2 form when they basically ask you the questions at the assessment.

Hi ChrisA15. Thanks for reply. Did you ask for a MR and then appeal. I took my paperwork from MR to CAB and when they looked at it she told me that even though I got very low points. PIP have stated on the letter that I do need help. So i'm just waiting for the court day. More stress

The more I read the more certain I am that not going for the transfer from DLA to PIP was a good decision.

At 67 having had High Mobility/Middle Care DLA since 1995 (with many regular re-assessments) who in their right mind would want or could cope with that for the next 20 years? I'm too damn old and disabled to cope with that system - just give me a peaceful life for my final years.

I kinda get what you mean.

I got penalised the other day for turning up to a community mental health team appointment on my own...

I explained that I have no brothers or sisters, my partner is disabled and my parents work full time.

      What choice did I have?

Felt punished for trying to get well. It was a big ask for me to get there; I was up all night before hand worrying, but this seems to mean nothing.

The whole system is so unfair.

Everyone here has my deepest sympathies.

      Love to all xxx

Yep asked for MR, sent in lots of further infomation from several doctors and support workers and got still got the same score (0 points). Went to a tribunal with a support worker, I had to have help answering questions from my support worker which they weren't happy with. Eventually at the end they awarded 4 ponts in the Daily living component and that was it. They completely ignored all the medical evidence sent over, there was a lot but still. Gave up on PIP afterwards, I will probably try again if my health deteriorates further.

Hi chrisA15. I'm so sorry to hear that. Gets me so mad hearing people who need the help yet through lies of a so called professionals do not get it.

I hope you manage to get the help you need sweet. X

      Hi Les59996.

I personally think that they should leave the over 60's on DLA.

I know what it must be like for you. After all the stress it's caused me.

Well I do hope you have an easy tranfer from DLA to PIP sweet x

I can feel for you - I have done the same, although there is now no scope to apply for PIP in the future - too old.

Hi, the transfer won't happen - the DWP eventually closed the PIP option down as I didn't make a phone call in the time frame given to start the claim - I sent 2 letters instead requesting the PIP1 form to fill in but they were never replied to.

I would have gone along with your suggestion if DLA had remained an option for me.

Hi Paula i totaly agree with you hear and have said as such on hear in one of my posts. Do they really think that all of us who got the DLA like 10 years ago for example have improved with age hardly not.

Having said this though at least us ones on state pension will have some money for survival,, i feel for those who are younger, trapped in the 'working age'  section with really with bad health on going problems, being told by PIP your well enough to work yet being turned away from JSA as clearly not fit to work,, so these ones end up with nothing and if under 25 dont always get help with rent either. Appauling.

Audrey, unfair is putting is mildly, as you say, what was you to do, if you failed to turn up at all then no doubt they would have made something out of that too. You cant win can you. Unfair system and very corrupt too.

Everyone has my deepest sympathies too xx

      Hi Paula

I think you will find the DWP are doing the exact opposite. It appears the over 60's are being targgeted first.

    • Posted

They are, especially those that became 65+ after PIP came in in April 2013.

Presumably this is because everything tends to get worse when you get older so the DWP don't want aged pensioners claiming for needs that didn't exist in 2013.

And, as there are more and more people now reaching 65, isn't that another reason for scrapping Attendance Allowance? The government don't want another balloooning benefit expense Better to close it down and save the money/put it into something else.

seems so. I rang the DWP to see if I could claim it having lost my DLA. They said that you can still send in a claim form but all new claims are being held back pending the announcement in the Budget.

Once it is announced, then they will notify you of the closure and suggest that you ask for help from Social Services such as a carer coming in a couple of times a day - you have to have a care needs assessment by them first followed by a financial assessment to see if you should contribute towards any care offered.

Les a big yes to that one,, i agree, im sure thats the way they are thinking
