Plasma Button Vaporization

I've been reading posts form all of you men about your recoveries from your various prostate surgeries and it seems that we are all experiencing the same recovery issues in varying degrees. My main issue has been a weak but steady urine stream starting two days after my catheter was removed. I saw my urologist today (5 weeks post surgery) and he told me the weak stream is common due to swelling within the prostate because of the surgery. Regarding the retrograde ejaculations, I am noticing less and less semen as I heal. Once again, it is a swelling issue. As the swelling subsides more of it is able to flow backward into my bladder. Again, normal. So, I'm happy with my recovery. Be patient, guys.....it takes time.

    Hi

Do you mind being completely frank if in asnswer to the question does the RE make a diference to the enjoyment of sex in your experience?

I would go for Holep if I thought it didnt make any difference.

    THanks.

This was one of my main concern when considering my options. I had sex 16 days after surgery and it was fantastic. My orgasm couldn't have been better and I had no pain associated with it. As for the retrograde ejaculations, it's not a problem for me and it is certainly less messy. As I continue to heal sex is wonderful.....not at all effected by the surgery.

I have RE after Greenlight.  Orgasms are great and terrific.  Yes, I do miss shooting as part of the overall experience, and to be accurate, I do have clear precum and a very small amount of semen drips out after orgasm rather than during.  Ultimately, it doesn't make any difference to having sex once you know what to expect.  At 64, the velocity had slowed down considerably anyway, but I was able to visibly shoot semen.  NOw I know not to expect it and it's not a big deal of the sex act.

Hi thanks both DAlebf and gmoney for your Frank answers.

I guess if the sensation is still good then I should not be worried and would get used to it. To be honest amount coming out is vastly reduced from when I was younger anyway and enjoyment is variable so this might be sue to BPH. IS the sensation better or worse than before the operations for you guys?

      thanks

Well, I'd have to say that for me, my orgasms are definitely more intense. The first one after surgery was certainly memorable and all of the others since then have been pretty much like it. As for the retro ejaculation, I'd sacrifice that for the intense orgasms any day. I suppose there is no guarantee that you would have this same result, but I bet your urologist could give you some assurance since he deals with this often.

A urologist can never know if the procedure will work until its done.  You are lucky you have a good orgasm.  some men have had it don anthere isnor  feely at all and they just give up sex all together because it is not the same  Be sure before you do anything.  Each man is different and we all heal in ouownw ayk  en

I can't say for sure that it's any better than before but certainly  not worse.  I can say that erections seem to be firmer and last longer which is good because it is taking longer to orgasm.  Mind you, I use viagra and I've been taking testosterone shots since October '16, which has returned morning wood.  I don't think there is a connection to sensitivity and lasting longer, because it all feels so good.

Remember that the majority who post do so because they have problems.

I'm surprised that you had more semen in the earlier days after the procedure. I've not heard anyone else make that comment.

I was surprised, too. It started out with about half of what would be normally expected. Now it is maybe a fourth. Small price to pay for the relief gained.

I had to know and so 6 days after surgery, Greenlight, I found that I did have ejaculate and close to what was there before surgery.  Then, over several months, it became less and less, until now, there is next to nothing, only a slight dribbling, and after orgasm rather than during.

Same here except for the dribble. I have it during. But, because my orgasms are as intense as they have always been I don't see the loss of ejaculate as being a big problem. If anything, it does have its advantages.

Nope!   It's not the scar tissue.Even if I hadn't done the stretching, the stuff would come out.  And now the strecthing, there's nothing holding back seminal or urine flow.

If the Doctor did a good job with your Plasma Button Turp you should not have retro.  But remember your prostate makes some of the fluid so if it is smaller you will have less  Ken

I know of several guys who have had this procedure done on their prostate and all of them have retrograde ejaculations to some degree. I'm a bit confused by your response since everything I have read about PBV says to expect it.

Talking with my urologist.   With a regular turp you should get retro That is a given.  That is why they came up with the new one over the last few years. Alot of men do not want retro.   With a Plasma Button Turp The doctor has better control to stay away from the ejacultory duct and the sphincter.  And you should not have retro but only a decrease in fluid.  It does take longer to do. but some doctor do not care how there patients feel or want  They just go in and cut away at anything to just make a tunnel.  That is why I do not give total control when I have a surgery.  It took me 30 minutes when I was bleeding and was having bladder spasm a few years ago.   I told the doctor which was not mine that I will lay here and bleed to death unless he signed that my prostate was not to be cut or touch.  He did sign.  It ended up being 3 blood clogs on my prostate which he burned  He must have been mad at me because had a 24 hour flush with a 26fr 3 way catheter.  Coming out it hurt like hell  Take care  Ken
