It's horrible but it's nice seeing that others are going through what I am. I can't work out or barely lift anything due to the pressure. I'm always dizzy, tired, weak. It's put my life on hold. I can't even work

Exactly teh same sad What the hell is wrong with us. Have you ever suffered with extreme anxiety or panic attacks? Or have you had some kind of bad flu type illness leading up to before all these symptoms started, I only ask this because I see a slight pattern in myself, and I wonder based on what others migth say if we can somehow come up with the answer. Since doctors really can't! sad

Can't say I've had flu like symptoms but few weeks ago had tonsilitus and glandular fever. But can't see how that would trigger anything off who knows all I do know is it's doing my head in big time and would be nice to get back to being my old self again.

Yeah, you see, it's crazy because we all experience the same sort of symptoms so in my mind it seems highly likely we are experiencing something similar surely. I mentioned the flu like stuff because I had bad flu a few years ago and straigth after I had all these terrible problems with head pressure, and all the symptoms we talk about, as a result I had severe panic attacks at the same time, it's hard to say if one caused the other, I really don't know.

Aanyway, as I said it all went away, for about 2 years, after lasting for more than 2 years! Urgh, can't believe it actually went on that long but it did. So just before xmas I got a serious case of Flu again, bed ridden, very poorly. What happens the week later, bang all the head pressure and all the terrible symptoms came back, BUT so did the panic attacks to an extreme level. Which one came first I ask myself, is one responsible for the other. It's worth noting I endured some extreme stress around both times this has happened to me. I am not blaming stress, but when nothing else logically makes sense and all tests come back fine, what else can we do sad

That's right I've had no tests yet doctors won't do them just gob me off with a tension headache but I no it's not that.

Yeah same here, what's absolutely crazy is this> I have a bad knee that I injured from football a couple of years ago, I told him about the symptoms etc at the same time I was saying about the severe symptoms I experience with my head and stuff. Now obviously you'd assume that the doctor would prioritise the head, but no, he sent me for an MRI of the knee with no worries at all. As it turned out I actually had a serious injury to my knee which I suspected and knew deep down all along. Anyway, I asked for a head MRI and he just won't do it. I totally don't understand why doctors are so reluctant to do brain MRIs and scans. It makes no sense.

Obviously with the knee MRI coming back showing that there was a problem and that what I suspected was right, I can't help but worry that I am suspecting something being wrong with my head correctly.

No what you mean I don't understand why it's such a big problem to issue these scans the dr still gets paid lol and then there's peace ôf mind for the patient if all is ok as it rules out nasty things,, but no it's like a crime to ask for these things that are here to help and diagnose problems.

It's almost as though sadly, if we were rich we would probably be cured now, as horrible as that sounds, it seems like the truth sad

It's all about saving money on the NHS I am sure, so unless they think we are literally about to drop dead they just don't really care or show any sort of urgency. Which to me says: if you have a progressive disease that kills you slowy you will have to wait until somethign urgent happens until we will help or you have something that is very uncomfortable to live with but it won't kill you, so live with it mate.

That's what I feel like they are saying to me basically, which actually makes me cry at times with frustration because it is so frustrating to have to live with such extreme symptoms sad

Hi. Sad to hear another person living with this. What are your symptoms?

I've been going through this hell for over 4 months, started gradually but now I seem about the same every single day.

Wake up some days with pressure, some days without, I think it's down to position I sleep. As soon as I get up and start my day it builds up.

I get the pressure from behind the bridge of my nose, this leads to headaches and feeling dizzy.

Yeah, tension headache or migraine is what they want to say.

Also, @sy-g: you were wondering what activities we did leading up to when symptoms started. I remembered that I started swimming a lot before this started. I also was an avid reader. I also used the computer a lot once it became popular - played a game.

I was able to get a brain MRI. I wonder if they would refuse doing a CT scan for me.

So I made an ENT appt && orthopaedic appt both this thursday, I'm also right now taking amitriptyline and baclofen and as of today bcuz of what I read went and got sudafed in hopes it'll help.

But a few questions for anyone still on here:

Girls are any of u on birth control n if so what kind n did the symptoms start shortly after starting to take it?

Do any of you smoke cigarettes?

&& do any of you notice mold in your house cuz I heard that could cause our symptoms too but I haven't noticed any mold but it could be where it's not seen

      Hi.

      I don't, smoke, house isn't mouldy and I'm not a girl lol.

The closest thing I can find on mine and others symptoms is something called Sinus barotrauma.

How does it happen? Pressure changes when diving cause barotrauma. During descent, air spaces in the sinuses and middle ear must be able to equalize to the surrounding water pressure, which increases with depth. When pressure in air spaces can't equalize, the diver may sense pressure or pain from one of these areas. During ascent, if the expanding air can't be vented, the cavity pressure increases, resulting in discomfort. This type of injury can range in severity - from mild to extreme.

Yes I know this happens because you are under water but the air expanding in the sinus cavities seems to be what is happening to us. Could something have happened which hampers our bodies reaction to pressure changes?

      Hi amber,

Not had mild in my house that I can see coz I'm a clean freak lol and use to smoke give up last Xmas just vape now which is much healthier.

I'm a clean freak too but I read that mold could grow in the walls where you can't see it n the spores move you breath them in and get some of the symptoms were all having. I don't know just a thought I'm willing to try anything at this point

Clean freak here too, but, it can develop courtesy od damp around windows and walls, and funnily enough we did have damp proofing done again around xmas time because it had started to try and come back. Who knows if it's linked in my particular case.

Yeah suppose it could play a factor unfortunately don't think we will ever no. Had my tabs from doctors so got a fresh batch of amitryptiline and naproxen so will keep you up to date if I get better. At the mo don't feel too bad still there in the background but not getting me down at this mo.

I don't smoke, and stopped taking birth control 2 years ago after this started to eliminate the possibility of it being that. I live in a brand new apartment complex so doubtful there is a mold issue if any at all.

Just woke up and head pressure is extremely bad today. Also woke up with head pains and pressure behind eyes. Strange how some days it's so much worse than others. Some days it's better, but it's always there, it's never gone.

have you ridden in an airplane recently? The first time I started noticing this was when I flew overseas to Asia years ago - during the flight, the pressure was terrible... last year, I slept through parts of the flight so that it wouldn't worsen to that same level. Also, I don't know if I asked already - but when you ride in a vehicle and focus around, does it get worse?
