You know have been going the same thing 4 at least 5yrs now. But I recently had another MRI with a special contrast. They found out I have a tumor on my P. Glan in my head & I also have a few veins in my brain that are not working because of my Glan & the tumor. You might ask your Dr. If I can see a Glan Dr. Wishing you well

Hi Jane I have just looked up what you have and read that in most cases it does not spread and is treatable, so I wish you a speedy recovery...I am now wondering if that could be what's causing mine, because I haven't had any scans, all I've had is eye exams....my symptoms are: facial numbness, almost constant dull head pain, constant stiff neck and shoulders, right ear feels blocked, slight ringing in ears, stiff jaw, difficulty concentrating (driving), get dizzy easily, feeling on edge more than usual...things that help: sleeping, spending says out with the kids (park, water park etc), watching tv, playing sport, does this sound similar to you or not? Tbh I just thought I had anxiety but it's been over 3 yrs now and it still remains, thanks. Mike

I do not a deivated septom (how spelled) from a car accident yrs. ago . so get sinus.. not bad... but I had not been sick in 18 yrs. & got pneumonia..(had the shots before) this was a broc. pneumonia ..lasted 6 wks. bad & than ok than 5wks. later woke up with sore throat & this numbness.. went to many Drs. had head x-ray I have two small cyst on my thyroid.. Going to a specialist on the 10th.. My neck is the worst like a vise around my neck on both sides & goes up the cheeks & back of head.. I did do the Nettie pot sinus cleansers (electric one) before this happened so do not know if I got air up in the sinus cavities or what.. this is driving me nuts head feels so tight worse in the evening.. I also wonder if the anibiotics I took when I was sick has something to do with this?? I had my whole head, teeth etc.. ck's// I do have one tooth on top.. not infected but old Mercury fillings in it.. want to have it removed as no tooth under it.. to match for chewing.. have heard Mercury can cause alot of problems especially if very old.. my is starting to break up a little.. have to go to a specialist to have removed.. I am sure that is not the problems as I have on both sides.. but Mercury is released released when u have teeth cleaned & brushed ..look it up.. GOD Bless all of us who suffer without knowing what is the cause.. so many different things.. even food.. well enough .. thanks for this site. Shirley USA.

I have been suffering with horrible sensations in my head for over 30 years now.  It started when I was 19.  The pain and weird sensations started after a night of heavy drinking, but then it went away.  It came back two weeks later after another heavy drinking night.....and it NEVER went away!!  I suffer 24/7 for over 30 years with hot knives in my head, strange sensations all around my head, the pain is always worse when I close my eyes.  When I close my eyes my balance is off and the pain just worsens.  It has even caused neurological symptoms such as my arms and legs flying up in the air when I close my eyes.  I write to you now because another stage of this pain has started.  About 8 weeks ago I started feeling horrible pressure in my head.  The pressure causes me to feel like I am falling whenever I stand or walk.  This feeling has not gone away and it just adds to the horrific pains I endure.  I don't know what to do at this point as all avenues of medical help have been exhausted.  I learned to live with the pains that came on, but now with this pressure and not being able to stand or walk without feelings of falling, I don't know how I can live much longer with this.....Thank you.

I know what you mean about "weird sensations" in your head. Mine have never been as bad as yours, though.

Investigate the use of "Taurine" (which, among many other things, is supposed to help the brain and nervous system).

Find a really good and experienced TCM practicioner (Traditional Chinese Medicine).

God bless and help you soon.

I've had this problem my entire life.  I'm in my mid-40s now, and it's gotten a lot worse because I moved up into the mountains recently.  Where I live, at about 7000 feet above sea level, it storms nearly every day.  I can tell when a storm is coming because the pressure in my head increases to the point where I can't think at all, and I get spells where it feels like a giant hand is pushing on my head from the inside out.

At this point I don't have a lot of choices as to where I live.  I would really like to get this condition down to a manageable level, which is why I am hoping that someone on here will have some sort of solution.

I have been to dozens of medical doctors, tried chiropractor care, accupuncture, ayurvedic, and massage.  I lived for years in Asia and availed myself of the many Eastern medical philosophies.  I feel best when I live in a climate where atmospheric pressure changes occur randomly (as in an Asian monsoon).  Now that I'm way above sea level and the barometric changes are on a daily basis, my quality of life is 0.

I know I've had this my whole life because as a child we traveled a lot, and I would get terribly sick whenever we were driving in the mountains.  Not just nauseous, but dizzy, and my head felt full of pressure.  My motion sickness continued well into adulthood - it wasn't until I was in my 30s that I could be on a an airplane without vomiting on landing.  I found that ice on my wrists helped the most.

I too think it is something inside my head - some cavity, such as sinuses - that has air trapped in it and doesn't equalize when the pressure outside the head falls.  I have tried the sinus rinses (neti pot), decongestants, allergy drugs, etc. etc.  Nothing is helping any more.

What conclusions are you reaching in the e-mail group?

    hello Alan, or anyone,

I have the same symptoms as you guys. Pressure in the head for 2 years. No real pain but constant pressure. I can do everything I use to do but everything feels worse.

Shopping malls and intense intelligent discussions are the worse!

I do not think this makes us stupid or has any permanent effects on the brain.

Did anyone find a solution to this calvary?

    Please help.

    Thom,

    San Francisco

    Hello All,

I have been suffering from this for 4 1/2 years now and have put a previous post awhile ago.  For me, I have come to the conclusion that in my case, I have an intestinal gut issue affecting my head.  I would not have believed this when it first started, as all of my symptoms were in my head (massive head pressure, face was numb, could not think at all, horrible panic attacks) and my digestion seemed to be fine.  I have done years of study on my illness at this point and things kept getting worse and worse.  Finally, after MRIs, CAT scans, EEGs, blood tests, I have finally been diagnosed with SIBO/Histamine Intolerance.  This was a shock to me as I honestly thought this situation would have a neurological basis.  However, even with this diagnosis, I have had a very hard time "curing" this situation and it has lead to more dysfunction in my body.  It is possible that a disturbance in my Central Nervous System, called Dysautonomia, has created this gut issue, or the gut issue has caused disturbance in my CNS.  In addition, I feel that Adrenal Issues and Menopause played a part.  And my stress level was through the roof--and really, it has been all my life, so maybe that's what finally pushed me over the edge.  For me, it seems that there have been many things that have gone wrong in my system, but I think that SIBO is playing a huge role.  I am fortunate enough to have found a wonderful doctor.  She is a Godsend.  In any event, I have received much help from a discussion that is on another website.  I know that the Patient Forum Website does not allow links, but if you would like to send me a personal message, I will give you that link.  Of course, it's possible that this is the case only for me and not for you, but you may think it's worth checking out.  This has been a terrible life-altering situation in my life, but it has also been a life-long learning process in many ways, physically, mentally, spiritually, family, gratitude, the precious gift of being alive.   Please know that my prayers are with all of you.

Regarding my previous entry, I want to emphasize that I have been diagnosed with SIBO/Histamine Intolerance.  Not everyone on the other website has been thus diagnosed; however, the majority have come to the conclusion that intestinal gas is causing big issues with their heads/brains and more.  It can be a little or a lot, but the gas pressure is affecting them adversely.  As I mentioned, the gut was last place that I thought I was having a problem, but it seems to be the case.  Perhaps you will want to read the comments on the site that I can give you the link for and see what you think in your case.  Of course, it is never my intention to diagnose anyone.  I just want to relate my experience.

      Hi Elisabeth,

I chanced upon your post regarding having digestive isssues and pressure on the head. I just wanted to follow up if you're still' having these symptoms and what you did to help resolve them?

I am currently experiencing constant pressure and heaviness in my my eyes and head. I dont have them in the morning when i wake up but as the day progresses specially after eating, i start having the pressure again. I have ruled out vision problems thru eye test and my blood pressure's controlled too. Only other symptom im having is acid reflux, indigestion and belching a lot.

I gave birth 6 months ago & had infected my incision. I was given bunch of strong antibiotics and nsaids to relieve my cesarean incision and then i started having this heaviness in my head and eyes and indigestion too..

Hope you can share what worked for you. Thanks.
