    Hi

just wondering if anyone has a solution/answers.

I woke up with a headache in November and have had it everyday ever since. It feels like pressure, around the top of my head, front of my head and temples. My head feels like it needs to deflate.

Doctors thought it was tension headache, tried me on cocodamol and Amitriptyline. Didn't work. Had an MRI scan, came back normal.

I was referred to a specialist and I'm now on propranolol (beta blocker) I've been taking it for a month, still waiting to see if it works.

I have quite a tight neck and shoulders, stressful job, but no sinus issues.

Any help would be much appreciated, I'm only 24 years old and usually completely healthy.

    Thanks.

Hi, I've had pressure feeling behind my nose and sometimes it pulses and the top teeth. The ent chap put a camera up my nose and said I don't have sinusitis. Anyway about a month later my maxillary sinus was puffed up and red. Just been for a mri scan and my pituitary gland was lighting up, something he'd never seen before. He's sending me for another mri scan on the gland and sending me for a ct scan to see what's causing the pressure problem. It's really annoying because it's constantly there, going on for almost 2yrs now. I'm 43.

      Hi Lauren,

I wonder if PROPRANOLOL working for u? I am asking because this was suggested by one of the doctors but I haven't tried yet and will give it a try if its worth. He said this medication starts working after about 6-8 weeks. What is the quantity you are taking daily? Please advise.

      Thanks

Hi Everyone. I too have been experiencing this pressure in my head, mainly on the right side, that has been making every day life very difficult..I find it hard to focus on my job and some days just want to stay in bed. I have also experienced some episodes where my dizziness gets really extreme and I feel like I am going to black out - my heart also races - after these events I am then massively fatigued for the rest of the day. There have also been some strange pains, cramps and tingling sensations in my legs.

Just wondering if anyone else has had the funny turns as well as the head pressure? I have seen a cardiologist and all is fine, next step is a nuerologist.

    Tom

I understand your delima. I am the same as you. Had my ears flushed Tuesday. There was a lot in there in my left ear. I have an infection. I am being treated now with an antibiotic and prednizone. I hope this works. We will keep in touch.

I am so glad to hear I am not the only one dealing with this. Not glad that we are all actually dealing with this... I have done pretty much what everyone else has done... except meds. And from what I am seeing the meds dont work very long. I have started to "test" myself... I noticed that caffeine makes the pressure worse part way through the day. So does Gluten. when I have cut both for about a week  the pressure disappears and I am not in pain or foggy anymore. Every few weeks I fall back and have a strong cup of coffee and immediately the pressure comes back... its so weird. I dont know if this is corrilated or not... but I am still playing around with it.

I have a pressure in the left side of my head and have had it for many years now but I only just told people about it because I was scared of what it could be. I have this push like feeling in the left side of my head near the temple near my eye and feels tightened. It's hard to focus on things sometimes, only time it feels better is when I put pressure of some sort onto the spot. Anyone had/have this? Please help!!! sad

I know it's been a while since there were any posts in this discussion, but hoping to get some answer to some very similar symptoms..head pressure, head spacey, out-of-it feeling, mild tensions/headaches.  At rest, usually fine.  Worse is while driving - i'm assuming this is because head is constantly turning left/right or up/down, aggrevating the neck muscles.  My doctor is saying it's from having a compressed neck (poor posture from working a desk job for so many years), so I'll be started PT here soon to help correct it.  Just wondering if anyone's is (or has) going through this as well, and if there's been any success?  Thanks!

I have had this on and off for many many years i,m 68, it is anxiety i think,  i have it bad at the moment.   If it was serious like a brain problem something would have happened by now, its not a nice thing to experience, it has halted my life on many occasions.   I,m just glad to go to bed when i,m like this but sleep 4 hours only,  its what is going on in the subconcious mind which we don,t have any control over.

me too! I was going to post something similar. The headache is constant, it's a pressure on the top of my head, it is always there now. I could feel brain fog and slight pressure for a long time but just assumed it was anxiety. I now have the worst headache of my life. For a week I have been taking paracetamol and ibuprofen to reduce pain, but this is the first time in my life it's not doing anything at all. I do have social anxiety, but there is no way that social anxiety could cause these type of headaches, I've been getting better socially anyway, and I know what tension headaches feel like! What else do you experience, maybe we can help eachother?

Hi Wanonymous. What you probably have is a sphenoid sinus drainage problem. It's the sinus cavity deep inside your head. There are 2 drainage points either side of the back of the nose cavity, sort of behind the eyes. I have the same or similar symptoms, had them for 11 months now. It's definately my left one that is blocked, its not sinisitus as I've had a CT scan and it shows no infection, I do however think what's blocking mine is some sort of mucus/blood. Over the last 2 months, every morning i blow my nose and this bloody thick bloody mucus comes out. Only my left nostril though and because of this I do feel a little better. I think what people have who have these symptoms of brain fog, pressure all over thier head and from deep behind nose, dizziness/brain fog/light headedness, headaches etc all have a yet diagnosed condition. There are 2 many people out there with these distinct symptoms and no resolution. I believe an operation such as endoscopic surgery to remove the thick blood/mucus from the drainage pathway would help massively. The problem is ENT specialists don't like to operate unless they have to e.g. sinus cavity is full of infection. Instead they let people like us suffer. As you can guess I'm very passionate about this and want to help others get better and of course myself. I have set an Email Group up for fellow sufferers of this condition. If you would like to join please private meaage me with your email address and I'll add you. There are over 60 on there so far. I also think there is a link with migranes and the sphenoid sinus cavity e.g. if it is partially blocked it can cause head pressure and headaches.
