I really hope someone finds something to help! I've been dealing with this for over 4 years. My MRI came back normal. Next week I'm scheduled to have a CT of the sinuses. I'm honestly HOPING they find something so that they can help me out. I have tried Topamax, Amitriptyline, Maxalt, allergy meds as well as antibiotics and NOTHING eases the pressure in my head. I wake up with this pressure and when it's time to go to bed it's always hard to fall asleep. If anyone has any suggestions I would love to hear them! I akso have pressure sometimes in my ears, behind my eyes and sometimes have icepick headaches. I went to ENT yesterday but they found nothing sad

I have sinusitis, have been feeling ill since March 8. I have gone to the ER twice for severe head pressure which when they checked my blood pressure it was really high but the dr told me it was high cuz of the pain I was in and also being nervous and scared. I was put on an antibiotic for 10 days starting on the 10 of March but feel like it's not doing its job cuz now I have a dry mouth which started 5 days ago but wasn't constant until yesterday. I still have pressure on the top of my head and my neck still hurts a lot. I go for a follow up tomorrow with my dr so I'm hoping she can help me with this cuz I'm tired of feeling not like myself, want to be happy again.

Have you been diagnosed with sinusitis? What are your symptoms? I've had these symptoms of head pressure that cause headaches, feel worse when bending over or moving head. Going on a year now. Doctors haven't diagnosed me yet but I know it's because I have a blocked sphenoid sinus cavity.

Ive had similar issues for many years. I just tried a natural nasal spray called. Xlear. It clears up pressure in the sinus tract.

Yes I was diagnosed with sinusitis and I finished my antibiotics two weeks ago but yesterday I got that pressure headache feeling again behind my eyes and frontal cavity and I'm wondering is it a relapse of not killing all the infection or something else. For two whole weeks I was pain free!!!

If it's an infection of the sphenoid sinus cavity, it can be really hard to shift. The antibiotics can find it hard to get that deep. I've had several courses if antibiotics and it won't shift. Doctors just don't realise the problems sphenoid sinusitis can course. How were you diagnosed?

I did some back straigtening exercises yesterday and I developed this issue today. I assume  when I straigtened my spine, it might have increased the relative angle between my neck and spine which would've thrown my head more forward(relatively - my back actually moved back), which could increase pressure on a nerve/blood vessels. If a major vein got compressed, it could increase cranial blood pressure which could cause this feeling - that's the reason why head pressure increases in anxiety (Cranial pressure goes up as blood pressure increases with anxiety). I'm assuming a nerve could also create this feeling, but I don't know how. Anyway, I took my hand and pushed my neck back via my chin, and now the pressure is largely gone (I still experience it in certain head positions, but at least it's not the default.)

Now that I think about, a compressed nerve could trigger a sympathetic response in the brain(anxiety, stress, etc.) which could increase blood pressure. I'd assume a compressed vasovagal nerve (Which passes through the spine and neck) would directly affect the heart, which would affect blood pressure. Though, I would think that'd more than likely cause hypotension thus a dizzy/light-headed feeling?

Once the pressure begins subsiding and the brain is not in an altered and stressed state you can try some natural preventive sinus treatments like Xlear nasal spray. Apple cider vinegar, anti inflammatory diet i.e. blueberries, apples , squash, chia seeds, tumeric . Look it up. It will take a little time to get the body used to the anti inflammatory process of being anti stressed. But you have nothing to lose. Its not a quick fix but youll feel better. Good luck

Oh, my diet is plenty anti-inflammatory. I don't eat processed foods (All the inflammatory oils/carbs involved; refined carbs easily grow inflammatory bacterial populations, while common oils seem to augment the inflammatory response.), and I drink cocoa, honey (Both potent antibiotics) and do consume a good amount of turmeric with my rice. Also some garlic for some awesome immune system boosting powers. smile

I don't like unnatural substances entering my body. They rarely seem beneficial.

Yes, yes and yes. I hope you find some relief. Again, Fioricet and Xanax are the only thing that works and gives me relief for days at a time. One fioricet usually does the trick, especially for cluster headaches. For the pressure, Im convinced it has to do with the sinus issues.
