Hi, do your symptoms change constantly throughout the day and do you feel the pressure more when moving or bending over?

The pressure/pain is constant. It may change in intensity during the day but it is always there. Sometimes bending over makes it worse.

Does anyone suffering wake up in the middle of the night every night after about 3 hours, my brain is like it's time to wake up lewis and I'm like wtf no its 1am. I look F****** possessed when I look in the mirror. Looking at me you'd think Tyson fury has just give me a slap the symptoms are endless. Dont take high doses of anti depressants or propranolol it will not help rather will end up making you worse try antibiotics on an empty stomach they may help a little, peace.

Hi Alan, I've had constant top of head pressure for 6 months! Neuro sent me to ent. Ent scanned sinuses and said all clear, sent back to neuro. Spinal tap in December, several mri's and mrv, even tried nerve blocks. No change. I am a cancer patient, so they are doing another spinal tap tomorrow. I feel like they are just missing something. This has truly been worse than chemo. Kj

I totally agree with what your talking about actually being diagnosed with something instead of them saying there's nothing wrong. I don't know how much longer I can put up with this the sharp pain in my back has started when I take a breath now.I keep wanting to go to hospital Such a bad day, 3 months in now can't see a way out. We need to take this further.

I urge everyone to acquire every result they have and post on the email group so we can compare results it's only one phone call to the hospital or you local practise.

Hi Karen, I've had an MRI and blood test white blood cell count was a little high and there was slight protein in my urine.

My question is what can spinal tap tell us that an MRI and blood test may not pick up, do you have any idea?

      Cheers lewis

Hi Lewis, I had the spinal tap today and will have better information on Thursday when I meet with neuro on results. I know today they checked the actual pressure of my fluid using a gauge. Additionally the fluid will go through pathology to check glucose, protein, red and white blood cell counts, test for infection including Lyme. Also need to rule out cancer.

im new to the discussion but have the same problem ,constant pressure in head above and behind eyes, had 4 mri s 2 ct scans and med 2pills a day for 30 days no results from any. get the look from docs that at my age they dont give a hoot. .from the number of people searching it looks hopeless right????

Hi Frank. It's not hopeless. I have an email group set up and I believe I'm making great strides into getting this condition diagnosed. I believe its due to a blockage within the sphenoid sinus cavity. Problem is these scans are deemed normal unless there is a large amount of fluid seen in the cavity. I bought my scan and the ostia is completly clogged so its hampering natural drainage. I'm in the process of collecting enough information and evidence to support this.

Alan I am curious to know if you ever found any thing that would help. Or better yet, find cure? I have a lot of the same symptoms and I have also tried different avenues no luck. Please let me know if you found anything

I just had surgery on the sphenoid last week. doctor said it will take a few weeks to tell the defference.

We're you diagnosed with sphenoid sinusitis? Did you have the symptoms like people on here? Do you feel any difference now?

My new ENT  Dr. Graham (whitch is the 4th one) @ Oschner in New Orleans had ordered a high resalution C scan which showed the sphenoid closed at the bottom on both sides. He did the balloon and opened everything. It will take a few weeks to tell the defference he said.

yes , I had a lot of the same as the others.

I thought it was the tri geminal nerveat first, however the nero said no.

So did this not show on a normal scan? My theory is that its to do with a sphenoid blockage but doctors say the whole sinus cavity would be full. I think thats rubbish. I very much appreciate your input.

It took seeing 4 different doctors to find one that took an interest.

the last one took an interest and had a better scan done. and no the regular scan did not show the blockage.

This for me is a real break through. All these scans that people are getting done don't show the problem. Can you please tell Dr. Graham (ENT) that he may well have solved the problem of the sphenoid sinus cavity.

      Alvin

what was different about the second scan? I see my doctor next week and want to see if I can get a CT scan of the sinuses done. Did the doctor specifically look at the sphenoid sinus?

He had me get another scan with a higher reserlution which gave more clarity to the scan which he could see the bottom of the sphenion where it was blocked off.

do you live in the u.s.

I can give you my phone# and call me and i can explain it better.

I live in Canada, a small town northwest of Toronto, Ontario

I am going to ask to be referred to an ENT as well which I am sure will be a long wait. I have been dealing with this for a year now. Sometimes the pressure isn't too bad but my face feeling tingly and fuzzy and it feels like it is burning but I am not flushed. Really weird. I feel awful most of the time. Did your face feel funny too as well as the pressure?

    • Posted

YES, I have the same thing going on.

I have been dealing with this for over a year and have seen every doctor imaginable. Then I found this one, which he said there is no guarranty.

But at least he found something he thinks may be the source.
