hi guys I've read most of the messages. Basically I have the same experience I have constant pressure in my head that makes me so nauseous and drowsy. It is very uncomfortable makes me wanna just faint. my brain MRI was normal and I went to a neurologist and he gave me muscle relaxant and antidepressants that made me worse. I went to the emergency room and they didn't help they gave me Fioricet (Butalbital, Acetaminophen and caffeine) it helps but doesn't cure the issue. I'm scheduled to see a new neurologist tmw I hope I find a solution Bcse it's been 6 months since I'm suffering with this condition

Hi... I have been looking up information about this head pressure issue...because I have also been suffering with it for the last year...and I really want to find people who can understand and relate to what I am talking about. Recently, my head pressure has gotten really bad...happening nearly every dad y...and especially whenever I lay down. It all started last year in May. I started out with an uncomfortable feeling right where my head meets my neck. It was getting more and more uncomfortable...and becoming painful too. But I kept trying to ignore it and figured it was just from a strained neck or sore muscles. When I couldn't take the way it was feeling one morning, I made a trip to the ER. They did a ct scan there and the doctor said there was possible small herniated discs...and nothing to worry about. The nurse gave me a concoction of benadryl, valium and a couple pain meds, which loosened up my neck...and helped temporarily for a few days or so. A few months later I made an appointment to see a chiropractor and he told me that he wasn't even worried about the discs in my neck, but when he felt my neck muscles he said they were inflammed and swollen. He cracked my neck that day...and that somewhat relieved symptoms for a day or 2. He wanted me to come into the office twice a week for 4-6 weeks...but my insurance doesn't cover any of that stuff...and so I couldn't afford to go there every week. In the meantime I have been getting constant headaches and really bad pressure in my head...and it goes through my whole head. It gets worse when I lay down...sometimes to the point of being unbearable...so I've been nursing it with tylenol or ibuprofen...which takes the edge off only temporarily. The bad pressure is in my head every day now and I'm starting to get really worried. I also feel very tired almost all of the time...and sometimes the head pressure makes me feel sick and nauseous. I went to see my regular doctor today...and she ordered an MRI of the brain and neck...so now I have to set up the appointment for that. I have also been feeling dizzy at times and just an overall sick or unwell feeling most of the time. Does anyone know what might be going on with me? I'm just hoping its not anything serious...

Wow! You've described every symptom I've experienced when all of this started with me 8 months ago. I don't feel all those symptoms anymore but I still get pressure in head. ..just not as bad as before. I've had CT and MRI of my brain, been to ENT, Neurology etc. Everything comes back normal and no one seems to find anything, so I'm convinced that I have to live with this, unfortunately. When this first started 8 months ago, boy did I think had a brain tumor or something horrible! But, "everything is fine," at least that's what the doctors seems to think. I know that I haven't felt my normal self since this occurred, and it really upsets me that these medical professionals can't seem to find the cause. Well, please let me know how your MRI turns out. Good Luck!

I understand your pain. I have been dealing with head pressure, lightheadedness and pain in my temples and behind my eyes now for over a year. Last May I went to emergency twice and the pain killers they gave me did nothing. No pain meds take away the pressure pain which can be really bad at times. CT Scan and MRI on the head and neck were normal. My family doc prescribed INDERAL which relaxes the blood vessels and after a few days that seemed to ease the pressure and pain to a tolerable level but it never really got rid of the constant pressure and lightheadedness. Sometimes I am lightheaded just going from sitting to standing or bending over. Sometimes my face feels like it is burning and tingling.  I am off the INDERAL now as it doesn't seem to help. I have some days that are more tolerable than others but no good days at all. I am at the end of my rope so I can relate to how you are feeling. It is difficult to get the docs to understand how this impacts your life. I realize at this point that it is not something I am going to die from but there is no quality of life and it is very frustrating. I see the neurologist again in a couple of weeks so am hoping I can convince her that this isn't just migraines since no migraine meds work and that this is unremitting, constant pressure and pain. Do you get the tingling and fuzzy feeling when you are lightheaded too? There seem to be a lot of people out there with similar problems, it would be nice if someone could figure this out.

Yes I do get lots of tingling and fuzzy feelings. I get alot of tingling in my hands especially....and numbness too. It is hard to hold my phone to talk on it sometimes...because my hands go numb. Its even hard to drive sometimes with all of these symptoms...but I think I would really go crazy if I wasn't able to drive anymore.

Wow, that is scary. Really sorry you are going through all that. I wish I could offer some helpful insights but all I can do is say that you are not alone. we must keep pushing the doctors to keep looking for answers. i hope they find a blockage in your neck and can actually do something about it. My family doctor keeps saying that we can't treat it until we get a diagnosis but it takes so long between appointments and referrals. What are we supposed to do in the meantime. Keep pushing them to keep looking!

Mine is the whole face, forehead and cheeks. It's like I am wearing a mask. It's not all the time but when it occurs I am usually more lightheaded as well.

I know this post is SO old but have you had your B12 level checked? It can cause numbness and tingling and weird head sensations. Read the book "Could it be B12" Very interesting and scary how many doctors dont check vitamin levels. Even if its "within range" the United States range is too low. For neurological symptoms which would be the numbness and tingling it should be well over 400 before treatment. Just a thought. Hope you see this good luck!
