So I've been having this for almost 3 years now pressure in the head like someone is pulling a hat over my head from the back to my eyebrows I get an off balance feeling and my vision doesn't seem as good.
I went to a neuro opthamologist regarding this and he said it was migraines and I said I don't get the headaches that one would expect of a migraine so how can that be it. He said the symptoms are associated with them without having a full on typical migraine that you would expect. It makes sense I've tried anything and everything as far as other treatments chiro physio you name it. Understanding this is what it is and the relation to migraines and anxiety was huge for me. I hope this helps try to reduce your stress and fight the good fight

Just out of curiosity, as I have pressure in my head. It is contained to the right side, (which is slightly larger than the left side). I have constant ringing in my ears, but I put that down to working in loud environment for 25+ years. (Tinnitus). The headaches, when they come are like flicking a switch most of the time. Rarely gradual. Quite stabbing in nature, and mostly painful.
I was put on anti-depressants. Like that would work. .... took them for a couple of months because, hey what do I know about medicine. Stopped them cold turkey (not advisable).
So now I just cope with them. Some last minutes, others hours. Rarely a couple of days.
If you find any similarities, please contact.
Otherwise I'm just putting up with it.
Docs are useless to me with it. Just telling me I'm depressed.

Hi,
I hope this thread is still active, I ony found it today
I am 27yo, I have been pretty much healthy my whole life, only that I am nearsighted (-3.00), but otherwise - no problems.
In May this year I had a scare when I suddenly collapsed on the street - granted, it was a middle of the night, I was a little bit drunk, a little bit tired, a little bit flushed I guess from the gig I was to see at a bar. But nothing special and I remember everything very clearly. I was standing with friends outside the bar, smoking a cigarette, nd suddenly I felt really dizzy, I had time to think, maybe I should go to the bathroom to throw u, and the next moment I was lying on the sidewalk with all the people really worried looking over me... And I felt fine even then! But friends said I was out for like half a minute and got an ambulance. I had blood pressure taken, some blood test including sugar levels, CT scan done at the hospital that night - all came out negative, except they said prolly my blood pressure dropped really fast and I lost consciousness... Anyway, I banged my had pretty badly, it was swollen and hurt for probably 2 weeks and then still hurt when touched for I guess a month or so. However, I had no concussion, and no stitches even. Later on, in the end of July one evening my thumb went numb and I ot really worried, as by the time it was time to go to bed, my whole right hand was feeling numb... I thought it had to do with blood circulation, but it was pink and warm, totally normal looking. In the morning it looked OK, but I had a cold, so I went to a doctor. I had looked at for the cold, but other than that - she said prolly the hand got numb because I sat a lot that day. I had my doubts, but it was not botherig me anymore, so whatever. :D I had a week to stay at home because of the cold, and during that time I started having electric current like feeling running down my hands, I could call it when I bent my neck. It was so weird that I googled it. It came out as Lhermitte's Sign and I got sooo scared I had MS... But it also happens after neck trauma. So when I went back to my family doctor and explained what was happening, I told her I was really scared I had MS and I want her to check somehow she thought I was overreacting, but I read a lot about how MS is really hard to diagnose, and thought being looked like an idiot at by th doctor was worth knowing for sure. But my doctor thought it coud be to do with the neck. So she agreed to let me see a MS neurologist if I go get a neck xray first. I got more scared everyday and there are lines for procedures in my country although heathcare is essentially free. So I got an appointment with a neurologist at a private clinic and he ordered encephalogram for me which was all normal, also MRI, but I did not go for that as my xray came back first. It turned out I had neck osteochondrosis also know as Cervical osteochondrosis. It covers most of the symptoms I have, and it really is not something too terrible. When I move my head to sides, I hear soft cracking, I had since I was really young, so that is probably from that, and the electric sensations in my hands is gone, I had it prolly for 2 months, which could be explained by the fall in May, as I hurt my neck there as well. Throughtout this whole time, I was having some tingling in the back and top of my head, but for 2-3 weeks I had it really often, and for like a week I have it almost all the time, especially in the evening. Also, I have this pressure feeling in the nead and face is a bit numb and tingling, as well as lip area and behind my nose and eyes i feel pressure as well. One time a couple of days ago I woke up in the middle of the night ith such intense pressure in my head, I thought it was going to explode. It hurt as well as the pressure feeling, and also I felt sick. Sitting and standing helped, but I was afraid to lie down for an hour. Afterwards I fell asleep and in the morning felt OK. Also, for 3 months or so when I swallow my ears pop a little ALL THE TIME. I am really worried this cannot be all from the neck thing I have. But again, I read up on it, and it seems it can be. I am going to see a rehabilitologist (I think in English should be physical therapist) for my neck diagnosis. And I am going to explain all my symptoms and ask if it appears to be from the osteochondrosis.
I am sorry I had such a long story to tell. I just wanted to give some context.
But bottomline - I do think that you guys should check because neck problems could be it for you too. I mean my neck itself - does not hurt at all. Still I have that condition, and according to the internet it could be responsible for ear problems, numbness/weakness in limbs, lower back pain, dizziness, eyesight problems as well as headachesof various intensity even migraines....
Hope this helps and if anyone has somehing same to me, please let me know, cause I am still scared and doubtful, but at the same time I feel like an idiot, like I am overreacting... Although this is really making me depressed...

Hi how are you feeling now, any better. I can relate to a lot of these issues. I've had this for 2 years now. I recently had a sinus operation to open up the sphenoid which helped but did not cure me.
I had my neck looked at by 2 good physios and the they both think my neck stiffness is due to a sinus issue. I think an operation to open up my ethmoid sinus could further help me and if it's not that it must be my neck.

Dear alan,
I have same feeling during last days....
Founding information on net.....
My pressure was also remain high up to 150/90. Doctor even couldnt find out the real problem.
1) pls check your blood test for dengue/ chickenguniya/ malaria/ typhoid etc.
If you have fever in side body and you feel weakness then I am sure this is the one o. Them reason.
Usually I even don't have pressure but I had dengue fever for last couple of days and I feel heavily pressure and tightness on my head and in eyes. Doctor also confirmed that I would have pressure. But then after I did blood test so the reason was dengue fever.
Then I take treatment and not all is in under control.

Hi everyone... I've read through this thread and it seems I may be able to help. I am 42 and about twenty yrs ago I was diagnosed with IBS, lactose intolerance, GERD, and gastritis. Not all at once but through the years. In 2007 I began itching intensely esp at night but not every night. In addition I suffered from apoxia on at least two occassions that made me feel like I was going to suffocate to death. I too took antidepressants for three years which all of my symptoms were exacerbated. As of this year I was diagnosed with HISTAMINE INTOLERANCE. It basically means tour body struggles to break down histamines which are also food born. Yes! I never knew of such but it seems the bacteria normally found im and on food causes a histamine reaction in the body and if you don't have the two enzymes used to break down the histamimes it causes a myriad of symptoms including severe headaches. Research it! But what you will need to do first is stop consuming the foods that cause a histamine build up. This includes anything dairy, ripe fruits, egg plant, avocado bananas, pineapples, etc. I know it almost leaves nothing to eat. I was overwhelmed as I am vegetarian and it turns out everything I was eating made me sick. Stomach fluttering, blurres vision, gas, nausea, vomitting, extreme stomach pain/cramps brought on by anxiety. Yes stress and anxiety affects the stomach in a major way. The good news is eventually you can reintroduce the foods back into your system contingent upon YOUR reaction, everyone is different. It seems this affects more people than known because most doctors are ignorant of the fact and western medicine conventionally just treats symptoms. That is why they haven't been much help. I hope tjis helps someone. As I am on my way to a better me. Peace & Blessings to all!

Hey Alan,
My name is Isaiah I'm 16 and for about 5 months now I've had pressure in the back of my head everytime I'd lay down but it's just recently gotten A LOT worse and I'm actually pretty scared.. I've obviously looked up symptoms on the Internet and the one thing keeps popping up that I'm deathly afraid of and that's 'Brain tumor' I just recently told my mom because it's gotten pretty bad but I was really scared to do it, I was thinking an MRI so I know what it is and I can't sleep at night because I do have major anxiety and my head starts feeling like it's getting tighter and it gets hard to breathe and it's just a nightmare.

My story seems very similar to a lot of people on here. I was diagnosed with intracranial hypertension years ago and have been on medication, not many symptoms at all once I started on acetazolamide. However, 3 weeks ago I started to get similar symptoms again which started with a series of awful migraines and awful neck pain. I had pressure all over the head, pulsing in the ears, palpitations, sore eye sockets, difficulty with light and really blurred eyes. When I move my eyes I can hear them grinding! I've had it every day since then and been unable to work. Over xmas I was taken in hospital for a lumbar puncture as they thought the pressure would be high and thy would need to drain off some fluid. However it was only 16, when the average is 18. So I'm at a total loss and the docs are. I need to get back to work but can't. Oh I'm also dizzy sometimes and a bit confused and my eyes are painful. They also did a CT scan and it was clear and blood tests to rule out of other stuff. I've been given by the doc amatriptaline and have just after one week gone up to 2 weeks. Has anyone had anything similar and tried this and when does it start working? I've also just ordered magnesium, as I see it mentioned below that it can help.

Hi Emma,
I highly recommend getting a CT scan or MRI of your sinus cavity. I have been dealing with those symptoms for years now and I believe it is a severe sphenoid sinus problem. I am having surgery next Thursday and believe this will solve my problems.
I've had multiple MRI's, cat scans, ultra sounds of my brain, thyroid, abdominal and multiple eye tests that all came up normal. It wasn't until I went to an ENT that I gained traction of my issue.
Hope this helps and stay positive!!

Thanks for your comments Huante22. Can you feed back after you've gone through your procedure do you think? They keep putting mine down to migrane as well but I don't think the pulsing and palpirtations are that at all. Good luck and hope it helps!
