Hi, I have had this for over 4 years....getting gradually better....To teh point now where I am mostly pain free (most days ) and dont think about it.

It started very bad.... dizzy etc then huge head pressure (constant during day, every day for about 3 years, it messes every part of you, stomach, muscles eyes ringing in ears etc).

I put it all down to stress, had a major panic attack... 1st ever, then felt dizzy, then that brought on googling every symptom... not good, definitely made it worse as you don't let your mind rest. Had tonnes of tests done(I've had numerous CAT, MRI, etc... seen Chinese healers, chiro, physio, the works....

, tested positive for lymes, though not currently in my system according to tests (have the antibodies for it now).

Feel normal most of the time and it is constantly improving though over a long time.

Things that helped after you've been to the docs and they cant find anything.

    1. running - go on long runs / fast walks as often as you can.

    2. stop googleing / thinking about it... .that makes it worse (i know if your in pain its difficult, though do something else to confuse your body.... Run / swim / spend time with friends and family... watch comedies)

    3. read an anxiety book... Dare or at last a life.

    4. sleep, eat and drink like a monk.

    5. stretch and move lots... Yoga helps, look  also at health through posture.

    6. give meditation a go Calm are offering an 8 month free trial ( i believe), or headspace etc. It works.

    7. stand/sit properly

    8. lessen screen time.

    7. be positive.

All these forums are full of people with problems, not many offer a way out /  solution, as soon as they feel better then they log

All I can say is follow these tips and see if it makes a difference over a few months.... It's worth a shot to you if you are in the same position as I was.

    Good luck and take care.

    Jon

I’ve been having a severe non stop headache for about three weeks. I went to the dr. Yesterday and I’m waiting for an approval for an MRI from my insurance company. I’m scared. I’m 47 and have never been on any medication before. The headache gets worse as the day goes on. I have ringing in my ears and when I try to sleep it is most painful when I lay down. There is pressure and I am exhausted. I don’t have any cold symptoms. I’m not nauseous and have no weight loss. I just don’t get this. I have some stress in my life but I have had worse and this is consistent and so incredibly terrible. Dr. Prescribed prednisone which I took yesterday but received no relief although it’s only been a day. I also saw a chiropractor which didn’t provide any relief. Any advice is appreciated. Thank you.

I go tomorrow afternoon. Tonight I can’t sleep. It hurts so bad to lay down. I’m sitting in my family room in a chair with a towel at the base of my neck. My temples are throbbing, the top of my head hurts the back of my head hurts and I just want to curl up and go to sleep. I’ll update when I get results. I of course am thinking the worst. And I have thoughts of my three kids and Husband and family and I am scared.

I went This afternoon. I will get results on Friday but do have another appointment with the dr tomorrow morning because I feel worse. I actually slept during the mri which was much needed. My thought is that if it was something very serious they would have said something ASAP. I just feel lousy and I’m getting really frustrated. smile

Yes I think they would have let you know asap if it were something bad. I am just hoping that both you and I find our answers. I have been going through this for about 10 weeks and I feel like I am loosing it sometimes. I just have to keep on praying. I can remember but do you feel off balance and someone pushing on your head?  Also is your neck stiff?  Sorry if I asked before.

It’s been helpful to talk about this. I do not feel dizzy or off balance.  I have no issues with my eyes or speech. I am starting to feel hungry but I can only eat a little bit then I feel nauseous. The main thing is the pressure in my head and ringing in my ears.

Hello - so as sad as this is, my dr thinks that they are migraines due to Perimenopause sad. Thankfully nothing life threatening, but still very uncomfortable. I have now started to get some vision issues in one eye, it feels like I’m looking through a clear kaleidoscope. I’m using excederine and my eye dr suggested taking magnesium. I’m also using an anti nausea medicine which has been helpful. It’s just weird that it is an every day thing. I guess getting old stinks sad

Hi guys I'm in the same boat as many of you - moderate/severe head pressure pretty much all the time and frequent headaches - for nearly 2 years now. I'm 27 years old and I would say I have suffered from time to time with mild anxiety/depression in my adult life, without seeking medical help. I've had all the scans and tests done (MRI etc), seen a bunch of doctors and physical therapists, without much luck so far.

I know that the solution lies from within (ie Jon's response a couple of posts back) I'm trying to exercise more, eat better, drink less alcohol but not seeing much benefit so far, although I feel I need to work more on the positive thinking and relaxation aspect to make my lifestyle changes count.

Here's my question: Does anyone have experience in taking BENZOS (xanax, valium, klonopin) for short term relief of their head pressure symptoms? For me the 3 I mentioned all work like a charm and give me a kind of safety net I know I can use if I need to, to feel 'normal' and go about my life. I just take klonopin as it lasts longer and feels less 'druggy' than the others

Thing is I'm well aware of the dangers of using these kinds of drugs and almost feel guilty taking them, worried I'm giving my myself an easy way out and impeding my recovery. However, all the horror stories I've seen about klonopin use seem to involve the user taking the drug EVERY DAY and gradually increasing their dosage to HUGE amounts  I take 0.5-1mg max, 2 or 3 times a week. I have never upped my dosage or built up tolerance. It couldn't be doing me harm, could it?

Hello. How does the pressure in your head feel?  Like deep pressure?

I feel the same as you.. I do take zanx about 3/4 a month.. I’m afraid like you are about getting hooked, so I’m very careful.. but the pressure gets so severe that I got to have relief..

Does anybody think it could be something more curious if the nerve pills work to calm it down?
