Rectocele recovery

Hi, I had a rectocele repair only 16 days ago and wondered if people could share how I should feel by now. I have four kids and am on my feet a lot probably more than I should be. I am taking movicol and that works as well as pretending to blow bubbles to get my bowl moving - all works. I am worried my vagina is going to be really tight after this. Does this happen. I also have what feels like a row of scar tissue between my front and back passage. I guess where skin was somehow folded in...? I am feeling miserable but not in horrendous pain. I picked my one and a half year old up a couple of times by mistake recently and didn't feel too bad. I am mostly worried about whether my stitches have burst - no idea but no blood. Also how do you know if you have an infection. I have yellowish discharge but no real bleeding. Any ideas of what I should expect ...especially sex after this - is it going to hurt/be too tight?

I'm not sure of how to join this discussion.
Day 8 after rectrocele prolapse surgery. I've always had problems with contispation. Dr. warned me not to get constipated and not to strain. I know this may sound silly to some but I really don't know what that means. I'm taking stool softeners. Stools soft but I still have to push. Today I have terrible burning, like I've eaten spicy food! And have not. Does anyone know what might he happening? No call back from the doctors office. Is pushing straining. Very afraid I'm going to do something wrong.

Hi creativeseams,
Know exactly what you mean.
I occasionally have that problem, when my stools are soft yet I am unable to pass them . I also find that I cant get clean when like this; I wipe and wipe and still can't get a clean wipe. The pressure gets so bad sometimes that coughing causes a small leak.
Luckily I am not like this acmll the time and ia can control it to some extent with diet; I do eat alot of wholemeal, fruit and veg and drink plenty water and dome times I think I overdo these things.
If always happens when I eat too much chocolate, drink too much blended fruit or have home made veg soup. So I have to balance things out.
I try to avoid eating too much chocolate at any given time and when I have home made veg soup I try and make sure to use white bread of rolls.
I have had to cut down on blended fruit too.
I also try to start my day with toasted wholemeal and if I am like this when due to do my shift at work I toast up white bread which does help toughen things up but unfortunately does then constipated me but at least I know I won't leak at work. But then have to spend my days off trying to reverse the constipation.
I do have periods of time when things work as they should but can't always figure what I have been eating or not eating that causes things to go wrong.
I never ever had this problem until I prolapsed for 2nd time and had a kink in wall at back end near exit after wearing ringed pessary. I went once every day for years until then. Some days I spend all day going back and forward to toilet and never really empty properly and end ul sore and nippy with wiping too much.
I wish I had a permanent answer but can only say to note shat you are eating and try to eliminate whatever causes that soft sticky constituancy and if you have days of more normal like stools then try and note what you where eating a few days before.
You are very early days yet and things will get better but try avoid pushing, you could try raising your feet using a stool ( or squat potty), it position you so easier to evacuate your bowel. It does help. Maybe try prune juice with porridge first thing in morning.
Try not to worry you will get there.
X

I didn't take Laxido (stool softener) at all this time as I don't get on with it, had a terrible time with it after my first op. I have been using Fybogel this time it has been much better but as I get IBS too I have to be careful. Speak to your doctor if things don't improve you don't want to get too sore down there! X

I had rectocele and pelvic floor repair on Dec 18, I am almost 2 weeks post- op. I am worried that my stitches have dissolved too quickly. It doesn't look right down there, not like neat rounded area of stitches like the internet shows when I research it. Should I go back to surgeon?

Hi Stephanie
I am sorry to hear you are worried, I did not have the same as you and all my stitches are inside as what I have felt is like a ribbed sausage.
I am sure they cannot dissolve too quickly as I am sure that's what I can still feel inside on mine.
Are you in any pain etc? Maybe give the hospital a call and see what they say if only for piece of mind.
I worried a few weeks after having mine I had the front wall done and I could still feel the huge lump inside but over time it is sort of going down. I'm 5 weeks Friday so a little in front of you.
I never realised these ops were as major as they are, I went out today and came home shattered and with huge pain in my side. Its getting me down now as normally I'm a very active person.

She had a feel and said everything felt good inside and supported well. My cystocele is still there of course but the rectocele has gone. She has no idea why I’m so sore in my back passage or having difficulty cleaning. Especially at the six week stage she said nothing should be sore. And I definitely shouldn’t feel like I’ve got a tangerine stuck up my but, but it does. She said I’ll have a follow up with the surgeon in about four weeks time hopefully it will have settled by then.
She also said she could still feel the line of stitches right up inside me and would have thought they’d have been dissolved by now. If they are still there at ten weeks call Hospital to see if they can remove as they’ll be an infection risk. She also said I should not be feeling a dragging feeling when I’ve been shopping or moving around on my feet for long periods. The repair should have stopped that. But I never had a dragging feeling before the op anyway! So I’m baffled. Just got to wait for follow up I suppose. Hope everyone is recovering a little more now? X

Hi Deb
Well that is good news for you at least things are going in the right direction.
I'm surprised your physio had a feel mine gave me a few exercises and bye bye, apparently sit ups are a no no from now on.
I can still feel something along my line as well I am inclined to have a feel in the mornings, I know pretty sad and Ill be honest after the first week of me having kittens as it felt huge it is slowly going.
I am like you I get a dragging and I'm also still getting that pain in the left side if I do anything remotely to much, which is a pain and like I said surgeon reckons shouldn't be happening, I do think sometimes they either don't care or don't know lol....Mum was watching something where people had had ops and things had been left inside them, I thought great lol
Its weird and I guess we are still early days and I'm hoping these feelings will go away. My first sick note runs out on the 21st but I am going to take another 4 weeks at least as at the moment I don't think I can go back to what I was doing yet, if maybe at all but time will tell on that one!!.
I feel ok in myself apart from that. Us women have to put up with so much lol..
Still glad to hear you are on the mend
Roll on the summer I say when we are all fighting fit and enjoying the sun. Good job the op was in the winter I guess as the stockings would of stopped my tan lol
Enjoy your afternoon

Taking more time off sounds very wise. Better to try and get more recovery time than undo the work they’ve done. Do you think the pain in the side is scar tissue pulling? I know when I bend to put washing in the machine it feels like I’m splitting the bit between.!
Jeez my physio has her hand inside me for about ten minutes lol. After she’d assessed my innards she got me to do my pelvic exercises with her hand inside lol. She wanted to make sure I was using the correct technique because of my sore tailbone. Next appointment she’s going to do a rectal exam to feel my tailbone. Oh joy! Lol.
Why are you wearing stockings? What surgical ones? I only had those on the two days in Hospital xxx

Hi again
Oh that did make me laugh, what exactly was she feeling for Australia lol Oh I'm so jealous lol I bet you are looking forward to that one!! But apart from all that are you feeling ok now, that pain I am guessing is still the healing process, mine was 7 weeks yesterday but it seems longer ago but it doesn't seem Ive been off work that long, if it makes sense. I am not going to rush I got paid yesterday slightly more than I thought to be honest I haven't a clue how they do the wages its like double dutch to me lol
Well Ive got scan Friday, I don't know to be honest what it is but sitting here even I can feel a pain, and the area is tender to touch...See when you go inside I feel the lump to the back of my finger but the pain is like more to the other side, I'm not good at explaining and these message probably don't make sense lol
So how many exercises do you have to do, Ive got to squeeze both bum and front up together then at the same time squeeze the stomach muscles which through the fat I can just feel lol..I have to do three sets of ten then holding stomach again put legs to the side. Apparently women should not do sit ups as they are not good for us.
Stockings are sexy did you not realise that!! lol....Well they told me I had to wear them for six weeks after the op which like a very good girl I did, they were definitely a turn on for all to see lol...
Its strange how all hospitals are different. I had a pain in my leg when I was at work for a good few months and doctor told me I had a trapped sciatic nerve but its weird right as the pain is just in my calf and ankle and we thought the op pulling everything up might of cured that as well but it hasn't.
You know what I feel like a walking disaster lol never had a thing wrong with me apart from an ectopic in 51 years and now I'm falling apart lol.
Sorry for the moaning I get nagged so much here to go to the doctors again but I think you might have guessed I don't do doctors lol..Still Ill shut up now as we are going to watch the football.
Have a fab weekend

I’ll see if the physio has a two for one offer on the rectal exam! ?
It doesn’t sound right at all the pain you’re feeling. You explain yourself well so I’m glad they are giving you a scan. Let’s hope they can see a reason for it that can be rectified.
Well because of my tailbone I’m only allowed to do pelvic exercises twice daily. I have to do 7 slow hard pull ups. Resting 7 seconds between each one. Then 7 quick ones like a ticking clock pace. Funny she told me to relax thighs and stomach and only use pelvic muscles and focus on those. Although I have been doing stomach tightening ones when I’m in bed at night.
I didn’t realise how weak I’ve gotten doing so little for seven weeks! I walked to my local shop the other day and my thighs were quivering! Fgs so now I’m going to push and do more to get fitter.
I can’t believe also a doc thought stitching your rectocele up would help your calf pain?! I know things compensate etc but that’s a stretch too far of the imagination lol.
Hitting 50 sucks. They better send us to the knackers yard now old gal lol.
Enjoy the footy. Hoot hoot hoot xx

Me again, oh no I hear you say!! lol
Well I am hoping that too as its weird but all I know is the pain was not there before the op so shouldn't be there now, ok I know I'm an old moo now but Ill be honest it is getting me down a bit which for me, if you knew me is a big thing as I don't worry about anything. My partner reckons Nikki's world is made up of fairies and unicorns lol, he has never known somebody so laid back!! lol
I think its surprising we don't realise how much on a general day to day basis we do without thinking about it. I was a person never to sit around and if I did ten minutes later I was up doing something else.
I was told we could not do sit ups again but I am not sure about squats etc I am guessing maybe not, think I might just have to save the pennies and go for the whole body tuck thing, boobs as well lol.
No that was my Mother!! lol The doctor, she was convinced it was the problem, I just went along and humoured her, its what you do lol and easier to just agree rather than have a full blown conversation about how it would not be possible...Its a pity these surgeons are not a bit more flexible he could of sewn a few more bits up lol.
Tell me about it I remember the days I was in my thirty's and still slim and occasionally clubbing it! you remember the places you go to dance and drink, Ive forgotten now...
I do apologise for anybody reading these threads as speaking to Debbie it has gone slightly off the topic of why we are here.
The footy was good don't knock it!! They won so all happy in the house of fun!!
Hope you had a good weekend and didn't over do it.
Take care

Just a quick one.
So is this like the ones stopping and starting your wee? I know we are not meant to do them anymore but I always remember that's what we did after having kids saying that my oldest is 28 this year lol...
and I am guessing the underfloor ones as well.....
I guess all physios have their own ideas, maybe ask yours when you go why we cant do crunches for instance as I am not going back anymore. Thank you xxx

I’m sure people won’t mind us pair being a little off topic. It’s still all part of the healing process albeit more mental healing lol.
I
You sound very much like me always on the go! Even when my backs playing up I have to keep getting up and pottering. My hubby is always saying fgs sit down woman! Lol
Yes that’s the ones. I have to sit on a chair. Relax thighs and stomach. Squeeze bum hole , Minnie hole, and pee hole upwards slowly as hard as I can all at the same time, remembering to breathe, then hold for seven seconds. Release for seven seconds then repeat.
For some reason I hold my breath and find it hard to breathe lol. And yes she told me not to ever try to stop pee!! I had my son 26yrs ago and like you they used to advise you to do it.
The tummy squeezes or hollows as the leaflet said are allowed. I’ll ask her about squats and crunches when I next see her. When I’m doing the squats I make sure I’m pulling my pelvic floor up tight at the same time so can’t see that being a problem. It doesn’t hurt anything only my thighs.
I’m doing everything chore wise at home now. Are you ? Xxx

Good Morning from a very wet and miserable Hertford
Chores lol I didn't really stop. Well that's not technically true I didn't hoover or anything stupid like that and I guess it wasn't done as thorough as normal but I did do bits and pieces all through, Id sit and clean the toilets etc and sit and slowly door the floors.
Today is the first day Ive done everything to my standard lol and I'm knackered lol it shows me at the moment I could not go back to being on my feet for 8 hours doing my job and they will just have to understand that. Worse thing is although its crap weather I'm quite liking the not working bit, but with our bills so high I have no choice, lottery win maybe lol...
Yes I am doing the pull everything up and then squeeze the tummy muscles as well you can feel it, I was laying in bed last night and did a fair few of them while watching tv and listening to the normal snores. We moan about us but I watched the 600lbs lose thing about big people wanting weight loss surgery. I don't understand how people can allow them selves to get so big one poor lady had skin and lumps hanging everywhere, its a real eye opener. Sorry got side tracked again lol
So you are doing squats how many are you doing?? I did the monthly squat challenge a while ago it started off easy but jesus to the end it was a killer but I did get toned legs lol
So you kids are similar ages to mine, Ive got 5, this year they will be 28,26,23,15 and 13....and 3 grandchildren, 6 weeks, 4 months and 21 months, not sure if I told you this before just to bore you lol
That is so weird as its really hard to concentrate on everything you have to hold in and breath as well, you just seem to stop lol and then think no Nik come on breath. They joys ah lol
Not sure if you have anything planned for today but I'm not going to be lazy for ten minutes and do a take a break magazine to win some prizes lol wishful thinking, and play my words with friends games you think that would stimulate my brain lol
Sorry if theses messages read weird I type as I think and just send lol
Hope today is a good one for you, oh I drove this morning first time, how bad is that 7 weeks and not done it and its weird as once again its the left side that hurts, clutch foot as well. Roll on the scan Friday whats the betting they find nothing and I'm just a whiney cow lol
Take Care

I have no trouble driving. No pain at all. My back passage is much more comfortable although I’m not evacuating properly. I’m hopjng the exercises will help sort that out.
The squats I’m doing ten after every run I go for a pee, so I’m up to 60 a day. Although when I saw a picture of someone doing a squat. Mine look more like half ones lol. I’m not the most flexible of people but I’m trying right. ?!
Bloody hell. No wonder you’re slack below after five kids! Lol. I only had two. Both boys. Eldest is 25 soon to be 26. The other is 23. So very close to yours! Grandchildren I have 5 They are 8,7,3,2 and 12weeks. Love them to bits. Was hard not being able to lift them up over Christmas.
Yesterday and today I’ve felt like spring cleaning. Though it’s more like spring junking out. God I hoard some crap. Lol.
Roll on Friday for you! Speak soon. Enjoy your mags!!! Ps. I play words with friends. Have done daily for probs couple of years! Xx

Wow I am impressed, saying that its a good idea. I might start doing that, I wee so much during the day its a joke considering I don't drink that much. I did go on the exercise bike yesterday as well, shock horror lol...When I lived in Lincolnshire I would cycle most days and do at least twelve miles, one time I was really good and did twenty, couldn't walk when I got of the bike mind but that was a few years ago. Don't like doing it down here. I did consider going swimming again, but until I lose weight don't want to put a costume on, so its catch 22 lol
Saying that started cutting down on Monday, have been very good. I don't like being a lard so thought get on with it girl!!
No flexibility and me don't go together either lol....Oh the joys of getting older!! lol
Blimey they had them young, I thought my son at 22 was mad having one but he is loving being a dad, seems so young to me but they are very happy. Yes it was hard but I did have Katie on my lap a fair bit, she is such a cutie.
Snap Ive been doing that, went through some cupboards and old clothes that we had had in the downstairs wardrobe since the summer, well they went to the tip and old sky boxes we seem to collect them. I do hoard some things, then next they are gone!!. Did you watch the hoarder programme, the poor daughter had to move out, I find it hard to understand as I must admit here everything has a place and nothing out lol....
Ill be honest the pain hasn't been as bad only time yesterday when I went shopping and I must admit, what with the driving, and the lifting and the carrying etc I was in pain when Id finished but maybe it is just the healing process. I will ask when I'm in there but not sure if they will say. Going to get another certificate for Monday, I'm not ready yet, not sure what they will say, oh lottery please come in tonight lol
Well its a lovely bright day, enjoy whatever you have planned...Send me a request for it I'm not that good but it does use my brain lol
Take care

How’s you get on at the physio today?
I think I’ve done a bit too much with the squats as I upped to 15 per wee today and now it feels like my cystocele is really bulging argh. Plus I’ve had about seven Pooh’s today! So now my flipping but feels all sore again. It’s like two steps forward. Three back!
Yes martin had his first when he was 18. His partner buggered off when lily was about three and he became a single dad. Did a great job. Met a wonderful girl and they now have two kiddies. So that’s their trio. Scott was 21 when he met an older woman who already had a daughter from her previous marriage. She instantly fell pregnant by mistake which was a shock to all. But they’ve made a go of it and it’s all worked out lovely. So he wasn’t quite as young as it sounds when his stepdaughter is 8 x
Getting back on topic. I think my stitches are finally slowly dissolving at last!!! I still don’t have a follow up appointment with surgeon xx

Hi Deb
Oh no that's not good at all. That's the trouble we think we feel well and then something like that happens. I hope today you are feeling better and I can well imagine you are pretty hacked off!! Well that is being very greedy in the poo department, have you not heard of sharing, I'm just trying to cheer you up, I'm taking that lovely medicine and I still don't go every day!!
That's good re the stitches at least something is going ok, when I run my finger up mine I can still feel it rough half way up so I am guessing they are still there. I feel ok in myself and feel guilty re taking more time from work, I'm going for another 4 from Monday but I guess if I go back it may all end up inside again. To be honest I'm liking being at home lol!!
Wow you must be proud of them both especially Martin bringing up his daughter. and its lovely that they are both so settled and happy. My ex must be made out of stone!!
Hows your weekend going I do hope you are resting and being good, tell you what its Saturday treat yourself to something nice, Id offer you a glass of wine, my one treat for being good all week but your too far away, hope hubby is looking after you
I had the scan yesterday, she didn't say much to be honest, the bowel is the left hand side I didn't realise that that's where the pain is, I guess Ill know more in two weeks and if nothing Ill need a kick up the backside lol'

I’m treating myself tonight indeed we are off out to an all you can eat Chinese for our elderly aunts birthday. It’s a yearly tradition. So I’ll be overindulging. It’d just be rude not to ! Lol
I take movicol. Usually it’s ok I go Once daily. But every now and again I’ll start over going. Which is just as bad as not! But if I was to miss a sachet the next day I’d be instantly constipated. So I have to wait for it to settle. Bloody bowels.
Oh I didn’t realise the bowel was on the left. I assumed it ran down the middle behind the vaginal wall. Or do you mean your descending colon bit is on the left before it goes to the middle.? Is your pain left sided stomach or back passage?
Will give Hospital a ring after next weeks period if one hasn’t come through.
Enjoy that wine!! Xxx

Hi
So how was the Chinese? Did you have a nice night out? We ended up having an indian so I was not going to complain, saying that I was stuffed and didn't have that much.
Yes that is what I have to although the doc gave me another one I am guessing its all similar, Oh I don't get that feeling and sometimes I don't go even one day, the stuff is maybe not that good but then does it go also on how much you eat?
The pain is in the left side down low,its hard to explain but its there and I don't know you feel it during the day when I do stuff, I give up lol...Well I will get the certificate and see what work say, I'm scared lol.....But I guess they will just have to go with it for now I'm not rushing back!!
Hope you had a good sunday and relaxed. It was snowing really bad here, I hate the cold really wish I could just fly away lol.
Oh the wine was nice, saying that I was so stuffed I only had two small glasses and without being crude, it didn't stay down......I felt so stuffed it was stupid.....
I think you should as its been a long time, saying that my mum had a broken hip and op etc left hospital and never got a follow up, weird how some work

Chinese was lovely. Stuffed myself silly and was sucking on Rennies before I even left the table lol!! And as for you .. wasting wine?! Lol tut.
Well your work will just have to wait until you’re better. I’m sure they’ll understand. Not much they can do if they don’t anyway. Just make sure you’re resting enough. I wonder if you’re stitched a bit tight on that side and it’s pulling on supporting tissues? I hope that scan will show something that will shed some light on it.
I’m still not evacuating properly. It feels like my insides come out when I go to the loo. It’s all squishy and fleshy outside my bum hole after I go. It feels weird. Had a couple of days where I’ve had an on and off intense stinging just inside my vaginal passage and noticed small blood staining in my undies. Maybe those stitches are dissolving and it’s not quite knitted together or maybe it’s the holes the stitches have pulled through that are slightly bleeding.
Apart from that it doesn’t feel too bad down there now. The pelvic exercises feel like they are really helping too.
Not much snow here just a few flakes. We have a fairground (Mart) come to our town on Valentine’s Day. For two weeks. That’s when we’ll get some. We call it ‘Mart’ weather!!
Right need my bed. Take it easy chick. Speak soon xxx

Hi to you
Omg I cannot believe two weeks have passed already, well I went to the doctors today and she has signed me off for another 4 weeks, work will not be happy. I haven't told them yet, scared lol
Well I go to see the consultant on Thursday it was cancelled last week, but I'm still getting the pains in the left side which is so weird. I felt like a walking disaster this morning seeing her, she is sending me to physio for the leg as she said its a weird one, its so hard to explain lol..
I'm having all bloods done as I keep getting a racing heart, you know what ever since I moved back down South things have gone wrong I wished Id of stayed in Lincolnshire lol
And to top it all my son is getting double vision so we are waiting on an appointment with the hospital for that, when it rains and all that lol
Anyway enough of moaning old me lol how are you feeling and any news re recovery, pain etc I bet you fighting fit now? Well I hope you are.
Its pretty cold down here today it started to snow, typical really why wasn't my op last summer Id of been as brown as a berry by now rather than a white weakling lol.
Even the nails are not doing much, ten weeks, yep ten whole weeks with no nails and they are just poking above the fingers lol
Hope you are good on a serious note and speak soon

I had the rectocele repair In November and only the last two weeks has my butt felt better. It was so sore inside it all the time. I too found this odd as it was repaired in the vagina not the butt. It’s very early days for you. Bear with it it’s a slow road as me and Nicola have found out x

I was getting worried about you. I’m glad you’re ok lol.
Good luck Thursday at the docs. I hope they find out what’s gokng on with you !! I’ve still not had a check up sent through. But got physio next week so will ask them as it’s the same department she works from. My stitches are still there! I can’t feel them. But attempted intercourse for the first time and hubby felt them when he entered. I was quite embarrassed to be honest.! He couldn’t do it as they hurt him too much. It wasn’t sore at all tho. Just a bit stingy at the entrance where the scar tissue is.
My butt has stopped hurting at last. !! Tho the wiping issue is still there and I often feel like I’m sitting on an orange. Hopefully the physio can feel what’s gojng on when she does the rectal exam.
Oh hope your son gets his vision sorted. ! How old is he again?
Tea time here. Take care. Speak soon xxc

Hi again
Aww poor you and him for that matter, I'm sure he wouldn't want you to feel embarrassed but I think Id feel the same, still give it a few more weeks and fingers crossed you will be raring to go.
They are taking a long time to go, saying that you run your finger along mine I can still feel ribs.
Well went today and he sits there and looks at the notes, looks at me and says mmmm nothing from the op would cause the pain, so I say well it wasn't there before the op so why now, he is a strange one lol but referring me for a ct scan now, so I guess if this is clear its just something I will have to put up with, last night I even took to the sofa with a water bottle and that's not me, but lets see, thanks for asking.
Its weird you have not had your follow up with the consultant, to be honest they are all a weird bunch lol. Yes she will probably know more than him anyway, good luck with that keep me posted.
He is nearly 15, we have had the appointment for the 7th March the doctor overrode the eye doctor and got us an appointment with the next ones I haven't a clue of the names, so will just have to wait, but I had a long conversation with the school yesterday and they are going to help all they can, thing is he wont go in another room and wear a patch to do school work etc which would help but he is that age I guess, I do feel for him I must admit.
Has it been cold up there? we had minus 4 this morning, roll on the summer, lol
Speak soon

Sorry for the late reply, I'm not the expert with the rectrocele Debbie is but its really early days for you, you need to just rest and keep up with the pain killers. Wow you had a big one then having it all done at once. Its going to take a while to recover, the pain is normal I felt crap for a good few weeks and had no energy at all. I feel more me now just this stupid pain I'm getting in the left side.

I use stool softeners all the time as I’m a naturally constipated person.
If like me your back passage is sore. I found it was very swollen inside it. I had to go and get some steroid suppositories from my own GP as it was unbearable. And when I inserted them my bum hole was so tight I could hardly push one in. Perhaps because of your swelling inside, along with soft stools it’s making your stools come out like worms?
I bled for a while. Then had a period. Then spotted for a while. I think your discharge as long as it’s not smelly is quite normal. It’s a lot of healing your body is doing and the rectocele repair itself is a long wound.
It’s lovely to talk to people who e had the same thing done. I agree xx

Oh I’m glad they are referring you for a ct scan! It’s not normal to be in pain like that. I’m wondering if being up in the stirrups might have damaged or strained ligaments or muscles? Does it feel like it could be something like that. ?
Aww it’s so hard for kids to realise it doesn’t matter about appearances when your eyes need help. But I’m sure we were all the same. Actually I’d have worn one if I had too, if have felt special lol.
My newest grand baby is now four months. He was born with Hydrocephalus and had a shunt fitted shortly after birth. He now has eye problems. He’ll be going back to Addenbrooks on the 23rd.
There’s always something isn’t there !?
Right off to bed. I’m knackered lol.
Speak soon xx

I never had a problem with gas in my vagina. But I assume because your rectocele and cystocele have both been repaired you’ve actually now got a free passage for air to be sucked into then expelled.
I’ve still got my cystocele which they wouldn’t repair as I’d already had a TvT tape fitted a few years before. So although the rectocele is now not pertruding into the passage my cystocele is.
Hopefully once you get underway with the physio and exercises things will tighten up? Just my thoughts. I’m not a doctor lol xx

I am feeling so much better now. Still on stool softeners and sienna and once in a while take miralax so i won't strain. This Thursday will be 4 weeks. Wendy to half day of work last Friday and made it through.
Stools are back to normal as far as the size and that must be due to swelling going down. No more vaginal gas so don't know what that was all about. I went on a set diet for a while and that helped me. Back to normal diet now. Only taking ibuprofen 1-2 times a day now. Those first two-2.5 weeks were hell. I feel like I was not very well prepared. I really just wanted cystocele repaired. Rectocele was not bothering me. Thanks for all your help. See the doctor that did the surgery next Wednesday. Will check back in after my doctor visit. If anyone has questions let me know. Glad to help.

Hi Stranger
How is it going now, how are you feeling? are you back to normal?
I had my CT scan Monday and go and see the consultant next Thursday, I'm still off work, so its now week 12 seems like Ive been off for ever but when you think its only still 12 weeks, I have noticed if I do anything slightly heavy it feels like it swells, ignore me but I still have to feel from time to time lol.
Are you totally back to doing normal everyday things?
Did you ever get your appointment with the consultant as I know when we last spoke you hadn't heard anything, it seems like ages ago now we had the op you think Christmas has come and gone and now its nearly Easter. I am not sure if work are liking me being off but I really don't think at the moment I could do my job. I am also have a Doppler test Monday for my leg, you know what I feel like an old woman, no comment lol....
Hope to hear soon
Have a great day
me

I did reply to you a couple of days ago but for some reason it’s not showing! So I’ll try again lol
Glad you’ve had your scan. Not long to wait till Thursday I hope it shows something. It doesn’t sound right at all.
I feel totally normal when I do things now. I don’t feel heavy or anything. Although I can’t get my last bit of pooh out properly and wiping is a nightmare. Grrr. I saw the physio. She didn’t do the rectal exam as my tailbone hadn’t hurt once. Thank god. She’s now told me to do my pelvic floor exercises standing up. Which is much harder!! And signed me out of her care. My stitches were still in. So she went to have a word with the DR who said they can take up to six months to dissolve!
Tried intercourse twice now and it’s just too sore for my hubby.
I’ve still not had a follow up appt but she said it’s earmarked on my notes for March. So will have to wait till then to ask about my bum.
Sod work Nic, just make sure you’re fully better. They’ll think no more of you if you were to go in. Keep us posted Thursday. Good luck xxx

Hi Debs
Hows you and everything? Are you all back to normal now?
Ive been referred to a gastro person as he still cant understand why I am getting the pain, so I have an appointment Tuesday and will see what they say,
Had to go into work as well last week for a wellbeing meeting, to see whats happening and when I am going back and how etc. My sick note runs out in two weeks, I am going to get one more week then Ill have to go back. I can apparently go back on shorter hours but that is no good to me as I need the 16 plus at least a week. I am going to the doctors to just get them to write a few bits down to give work, ie no heavy lifting I think I read over 20lb or 25lbs ever.....and no lugging cages etc. We will see what they say. I did look for a 24 hour carer position but not sure I really want to do that, oh good I need a lottery win lol
Did you get to see your consultant in the end and what did he say? I am still doing the stomach and pelvic floor exercises still cant seem to shift the weight but then I think its because I am not totally active my job is fairly physical so that did help.
Hope to hear from you soon, I hit the big 52 on Monday that's enough to depress anybody lol
speak soon
xxxxx

My appointment came through for the end of April so got to wait a few more weeks.
If you go back to work, just make sure you stick to doing things within your limit and not do more harm. It’s easy to do. I’m my own worst enemy too! I’m struggling with work at the mo through back pain. Sitting doing nails is a lot tougher on your body than you think! Lol. I have a bulging lumbar disc that’s causing nerve compression to both legs. So sitting is a killer. But I’ve also got pain in most of my other joints from head to toe. They are now suggesting I have ME! Who knows. Sigh.
Anyway. You’re now the same age as me. It isn’t so bad being 52 lol. Happy belated!! Talk soon. Keep your chin up xxx
