Rectocele repair help!

Hi I'm in my early 20s and due to have a posterior repair I have a 9 month old son and knew early on something wasn't right I saw lots of doctors gynaecologists and physios all of them told me I had no prolapse just laxity, even though I knew full well I did the back vaginal wall comes out the opening I have a lot of constipation and difficulty with bm and I tried sex once since my baby and it was so loose because of the stretching the prolapse has caused I was very depressed have spilt from partner as I don't want to be close to him and feel so unattractive. I finally went to see a private gynaecologist as soon as he examined me before even checking internally he could see I had a Rectocele and also a tear from childbirth at the opening that hasn't been stitched that he will also fix he is happy to go ahead with surgery but as it is private I will need to save to pay for it. I 100% want to go through with the surgery and just want to feel normal again. But I am really concerned with everything I have read on here about no lifting and no excercise. I work at a private hospital myself with dying patients who require lifting and long 12 hour shifts always on my feet sometimes on a night. How long would I need off from work, and how would I convince them to let me? Also lifting my son, lifting things around the house etc. I have my parents who are very supportive and will help out a lot but in the future when everything has healed will I have to stop certain excercise and lifting for the rest of my life? I'm so worried about the prolapse coming back as it seems to happen to a lot of people dose anyone have any long term success with this operation? What did you do differently after? Hope someone can help thank you

I agree with you Barbara, Chloe change GP, dont gave up, you pay NIN you should have a free operation. I dont know the price of it but I remember when I was so desperate to see Gyn in private clinic and one visit cost £100, so I couldnt afford an oparation even visits 😱

Yes I also agree. I had insurance thru work and my bill was $28000. But its cheaper when u pay cash.

chloe is in the UK so prices are very different and there are different tiers here she can explore

Chloe has seen several gynaecologists so I don't think the GP is the problem

Oh you right Matron, my physio told me Iam to young for operation too, but Gyn couldnt fit any pessary rings so asked me if I want to have an op.

I'm pleased you're having surgery. Why put up with a 'lump' until a consultant thinks you're old enough. Pessaries don't suit everyone but I've read on this website some really good success stories although they don't actually appeal to me and if someone doesn't want surgery then it is worth a try. When are you having your operation?

Upsy daisy Iam messy hahaha I wrote above I had an operation on December last year anterior wall prolapse, ring didnt fit thats probably I had this operation and just wanted to explain, physioterapist and Gyn sometimes think some people are to young to have an operation like this phew.

Hopefully you understand better now, english its my second language, so I might seem a little bit chaotic, sorry 😊

Why would you be quiet? I said I was confused because I was getting your posts mixed up. I hadn't realised you'd had an operation.

I coped really well with a ring pessery for three years but then got an ulcer in vagina and couldn't wear it for six weeks decided on surgery then

I've seen a patient with a vaginal ulcer because of a pessary. Very painful I understand.

I didn't know that I had one till they saw it when changing pessery
