Regarding my PIP claim

l made a claim for PIP as l was sent a letter to say my DLA is ending and l sent in the PIP claim form 5 weeks ago and have heard absolutely nothing as of yet and the questions are how long before they send some type of correspondence?? to say what is happening as l thought some type of letter would have been sent before now.

Just had a PIP home consultation which took 50 minutes and before she left she came out with some surprise comments of l don't think you have anything to worry about so fingers crossed until l get the case managers decision.

Sounds promising belgravia, so as she said, fingers crossed.  smile

My assessor said a very similar thing to me, in fact she said she was very surprised that I had been called to have a face to face at all.

Yes l will just have to be patient now just waiting for the decision sukes.

That's good but they really shouldn't say that and i wish they wouldn't! it makes me really angry. It's not their decision or their place to tell any clamaints that. They can and have in the past said things like that and then put the complete opposite in the report. Hopefully this won't happen to you and your outcome will be possitive. Glad it's over for you.

Yes l understand your points totally Denise and she also said that it had to go to the case manager who will make the final decision.

l received the dreaded brown envelope this morning  of course obviously thinking it was going to be the DWP's decision on my PIP assessment which took place on the 4th of April but it was a letter about my ESA following a recent change it says which it states because of a change in money coming in and that from the 14th of April you will receive such and such per week.

The question is how much related to their PIP decision is this? or is it just a coincidence?.

It's a coincidence because i had exactly the same this week. You can always ring them to ask if a decision has been made on your PIP. Also if you put a mobile number down on the form they'll text when they have all the info they need. Once they send this you know a decision will follow shortly.

Thanks Denise as l am not sure whether they have my mobile number but they certainly have my home number.

How long did you wait from assessment to the decision letter through the door/ as hopefully it won't be long now to know what  my fate is.

3 weeks the first time and 11 days the 2nd time. Giving a landline number wouldn't help because they won't phone you telling you they have all info they need. Good thing about mobiles is if they have your number they'll text you with updates. They just don't text you with the decision.

Thanks Denise as one just has to be patient for the decision letter and see what it brings when it comes through the postbox.question

Thanks Sukes as yes the stress is starting  to ebb away after months of it.

Just one question as l gather ongoing is 10 years with a review after 9 if l am correct.

Like you, I was awarded enhanced on both ongoing and I believe it is for 10 years with a review at nine.  I will be 78 then, so I'm not worrying about it.  lol

Yes just taking notes from the award it stated we have made this decision on the clear medical evidence and supporting letters you provided.
