I tried the pumpkin seeds and eaten garlic every day for months...I've also gone up to the Hospital for Tropical Diseases In London to see a specialist for the last 8 months....All their treatment has not worked either. It always comes back! My husband or my two children have never had it and we dont have any pets....I keep a very clean house and im so careful with my hygiene...What can i do to get rid of these? Help Please.....Its driving me insane!

I'm honestly beginning to wonder if I'll ever shift this TBH. I've had about 5 days of peace where I felt normal again, but on the way back from shopping the dreaded tingle. I find myself questioning whether I even have bloody Threadworms to be honest but what else can it be? A butt hole doesn't tingle/itch for no reason. Kinda wish I'd never googled the symptoms in the first place now because it's definitely affected my quality of life. Upon first discovering the infection you think "Okay, it's only two weeks of my life" until it isn't. Next thing you know it's been two months, two years, maybe even two decades by the sounds of things This should be a distant memory but it's a nightmare you can't wake up from a nightmare some can't get to sleep because of it. It's even worse if you have a partner or you're seeing someone. A parent or a child will forgive you for infecting them accidently the same can't always be said for romantic conquests, especially if it's a newer relationship. The Ovex box states "One dose to effectively treat threadworms" BS. I'm yet to reap the benefits. Not only is that misleading as you need 200+ it seems but it gives you a false sense of security. It's dressed up as this minor infection ones that's not taken seriously, one that's simple to treat. But the facts are it's not researched well enough at all. How are supposed keep tabs on something that's invisible???????
If the eggs are the problem would be great to actually be able to see them, which is why I feel cleaning can only do so much, especially if you live with others. You can't know 100% if someone else is following the antiworm protocol properly. It's a trap. It really is. I'm fed up. Only comfort is being able to post here.
For all we know it could be our phones that are reinfecting us, constant touching it with dirty hands, it's just a thought but something isn't right, how pathetic is it that the only way to test for them is to put cellotape on your back passage..What a primitively backwards method that is considering all this technology that surrounds us. Maybe to these doctors an itchy bottom isn't the end of the world, but that isn't all, we have unwanted life inside of us, making their presence known. You kill off a batch and produce another almost immediately afterwards. How is that not a big deal?

Hi Kate - here is the title of another three studies and it's on the NHS website
Are worms key to health?
Thursday January 29 2009
I'll paste the link in a minute.
I understand that having them all the time must be infuriating and extremely uncomfortable - I don't suffer as often as you do and the treatment always seems to work for me.
However, I'm still mystified as to why I get them at all.
Can I suggest that you contact the authors of the papers? Just remember this has NOTHING to do with dirt or germs, they are not bacteria or 'infectious' but apparently beneficial to health. The problem is when they become intrusive.
The authors are:
Professors Graham Rook, Anne Cooke and Jan Bradley
are the senior authors of these three separate review papers addressing the possible role of parasitic worms in immunology. They were based on work conducted at The Windeyer Institute of the Royal Free and University College London Medical School, The University of Cambridge and The Universities of Nottingham and Liverpool, respectively.
If none of us has had any sensible advice from GPs and supposed consultants then perhaps talking to someone who really knows their subject could help find a solution.
Best of luck.

Wow that's fascinating! I just read the Telegraph paper of it. I have wondered for a while about that. I mean to be parasite free just seems impossible somehow. If they are everywhere then surely our bodies could once cope?!
I've had worms for prob 3 years now. I've given up trying to eradicate them. I tried everything for the first 2 years. All the protocols, religiously. And the worms STILL came back. I think part of the answer is in acidity of the body, and underlying inflammation in the body (look up ACES study). After finding a worm recently, I have started on lemon juice in warm water as first thing I have in day, meant to neutralise body amongst many benefits. I try and take DE every other day. I wanted to stop taking ovex but I have def accepted the worms. At some point I will try the Cina homeopathy for worms... We'll see. Also I take probiotics but keep forgetting and have water kefir most days. Luckily my husband doesnt bat an eyelid talking about worms, I used to try and hide it but when I finally talked to him he was so laid back about it. Phew!

The underlying inflammation from stress (that some of us aren't even aware of) would affect gut flora so makes sense with the article you mentioned...

Hi pinkpanther25
I feel the same way really, I've kind of accepted that I have them and given up on medication.
The acid is an interesting factor!! I will try to add lemon water to my diet.
My partner is the same, he isn't grossed out by the thought of them at all which is so nice, he is just supportive about it all.

Hi laura, 27275. Sometimes acceptance is key I think, to lots of things in life. Often easier said than done! Also I forgot to say I started taking fermented cod liver oil (sounds gross but the Cinnamon Tingle one is OK with a wee 'shot' of organic apple juice after!) as I think the probio/ water kefir and omegas are key to gut balance. I did a gut healing a while back to rule out leaky gut (used aloe vera juice to seal gut, wait 10 mins, then, probio wait 10 mins, then slippery elm) and liver detox - which now I don't think liver detox strictly necessary, according to info from susun weed, an amazing herbalist (bit out there but I love her!). Lots of butters in diet, so think dandelion leaves they are actually OK if ripped up and put in with other salad leaves, eating the ground elder and other 'weeds' to get the micro nutrients cultivated veg doesn't provide us with. Apparently out guts have billions less bacteria than even 50 years ago. Perhaps that is the key to us all having this friggin worm issue...

Hi pinkpanther25
Have you found the methods you've tried helpful?
How frequently do you see worms?
I'm trying to come up with a diet and supplements that I can stick to in the hopes of if not eliminating them, then at least seeing them less.

Hi, wondered what everyones using for the "itch". Garlic seems to irritate my skin, so Im looking for something else.
This is on the grosser side. I have trouble going number 2 daily. What do people take that works, not to hard on body. And if Im going to take meds again, how can i be sure my body absorbs the meds, not the fiber or laxative.
Im not well at all. After a week on valbazen, no relief, taking 3 days off to start again I guess. Any advice is welcome.
Im itchy 24/7 right now.

Hello Nedra3,
Are you taking 40 MG of fat with your Valbazen? And how often are u taking it ? I mix mine with a 1/2 heavy cream and cup of milk with hot chocolate then eat a few almonds with it and it has worked for me. I also do salt water & baking soda enemas and drink smooth move tea to keep everything moving. I have been symptom free for almost two months now! I only take the valbazen once a week now but I still use tape to seal up anus even night and tolet paper in the vigina just o be sure they don't migrate there.

Thank you to you and to everyone who replies here with such kindness. When I often feel my world is collapsing in on me because of the fluttery itch I have to snap out of it or I get caught up in me. It is hard, but I know there are worse things that could be happening. I have to get back to being thankful and grateful for all thats going well in life. Sorry for the mini sermon.
What kind of tape omg, I've thought of that but havent tried it.
I am taking 40 mg of fat now. 2x a day with valbazen. Its been a week. Either heavy cream or evoo. I can see worms now in toilet on occassion when Im lucky enough to "go". . I will try smooth move, used to have some so if we still do its old. Its now on the list.
Please tell me exactly how much salt and baking soda. I did 10 drops of food grade 3%hydrogen peroxide in 2 QT of water enema this morning and until about an hour ago I was itch free!
I know I need to add probiotics. Read this morning that folks with leaky gut, acidic stomach get reoccuring pws and other types of parasites.
Im so relieved youre itch free... gives me hope. I swear these things create bi polar... Im normally a happy person and going from seeing my kids to freaking out if I cleaned toilet well enough (surprise visit) for them to use it has me crazy. Im so afraid someone will catch this. I feel like I have a dirty little (big) secret. So just then I reverted back to freakout mode.
Honestly, just 2 things... Id just like to have relations with my husband (i know, can do other things, and for him we do) and not worry about spreading to anyone.
Sorry if i was to explicit, but pws ruin many days.

Hi just another message to say I'm still not rid of them and I'm now 8 weeks pregnant with my 2nd child so can't take ovex. I have really bad days when I feel so down over it all but then have to shake myself out of it because I know it's not healthy for myself or my child. Found out the other day my little girl had them (she's 2) and my God did I feel guilty my partner had them also. So dosed them up but I agree with all of you doctors are absolutely useless. I did try eating raw garlic (2 cloves every night chopped and swallowed down with water). Which seemed to be doing the trick for like 2 weeks. I actually felt normal for that 2 weeks but then felt them again and taking the garlic like that made me feel so sick! Gonna keep visiting this post and share ideas with you all and support. Sorry you are all going through this I know how hard it is but you gotta keep going! X

People feel so differently about enemas. Not sure what you can do safely. Enemas, even with just water make me feel better most of the time, but not always. Plus, i dont know how people have time for one, seems to take over my day. Maybe thatd give you relief?
Wanted to ask if anyone knew anything about a parasite called D fragilis. Its from the pinworm egg! You can get it from having pinworms! This is depressing because i dont think they even test for this patasite. They cant seem to identify pinworms, so highly doubt theyd find this one.
Strange thing is I read somewhere months ago a blurb about getting parasites from parasites and I was seeing the one doc that actually tried to help. When i asked she said thats not possible, lets not go there. I dropped it and never really looked any deeper. Now im miffed. Meds that work for pws dont work for this D fragilis. Could we have that also?
Im so disappointed in the medical community re parasites. I think its a NFL player that was waiting to be treated for cancer from some blood test... he was lethargic, stomach issues. He looked in the toilet and saw a worm that was inches long. Pulled it out took it to dr. He had a tapeworm! Heard he does not have cancer.... what? How wrong can doctors be?

hello, I am new to this post. But I just wonder if I have it, my doctor said he doesn't think I have it. But I took one Menbedazole 100 mg a month ago, after that immediately next day felt less craving for foods. Then 3.5 week later, of course going through crazy days again, yesterday I felt itchy again and took another tablet. I do not like the tablet, it is toxic to liver and I feel sick sick sick after taking it. Its toxic anyways.
I am just wondering, why some people do not have it, sure they expose to the eggs everywhere. Is there a possibility that their body is not host environment friendly to the eggs to become the worms. Maybe people drink alcohol, eat chilli foods, smoke,... cafe,, regularly and those things make the body impossible for the eggs to grow. Just think about it, why some people cannot get rid of, and some people never have it.

And i totally agree some people are practically immune. If your immune system is compromised in the least beware.
