OMG friend!  I had this for 6 months.  I finally found out it was related to severly low vitamin D.  have you tried that.  check out this study.. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/23245911  I take 10,000iu a day but i check my blood everymonth to make sure im not going overboard or under.   I hope this helps.

Since using D supplementation have you noticed a reduction in symptoms?

Hi Sophia. I've had MdDs for a year and a half. It was very bad for the first 7 or 8 months but it will get better. It just gets better so slowly that its hard to notice. I now take effexor in the lowest dose. I also have had luck with amitriptyline. Maybe it helps w migraine....they seem to somehow be connected. I never had migraines before and now I get terrible headaches when I get my period. Anyways, just know it will get better. Stay active. Exercise and eat healthy (...although be sure to still enjoy life.....I've had this awhile and I refuse to let it define my life. In fact I'm planning an international trip for next fall).. Hope yours is already better from the last message you wrote.

Hi hun hope you are feeling better 8 hate it its still doing it there is no more visual rocking of feeling of rocking is very rare to be honest . What I am left with is anxiety and bad spaced out feelings/ falling sensations and dizy in small rooms or small places . Healthy diet and weight work at the gym and time is getting me better . Though I still flip out and cry at times asking why me . Certain times of the month have me clinging to my bed for my life xx its sad but stay positive it can't stay forever surely

Anyone who's reading this you will wanna give up. Ever pull ur own brain out !! But hang in there. It was 10 out of 10 bad for first 2 months. Then 9 out of 10 for 4 months I couldn't cope and wanted to end my life no meds wud help I couldn't function just breathing and crying in bed. Then when it got to a year of having it it subsided and it stayed about 5 or 6 out if ten for about 9 months. Then it went down to 4 out of 10. Now here I am stuck at some days being 1-2 and some days being 3. With some terrible days just to wake up back where I was up to again. . Maybe 6 months il only have a few off days I don't no. I diet is extremely good and I'm doing my best at gym. Good luck all I wish u the best health after the worst 2 years of my life I can see summer being the best yet xxxxxx

Hi mya89, My teenage son and I both were diagnosed with migraine associated vertigo in 2014. We have never really suffered from migraines, but they run in our family. So our migraine variation is accompanied with vertigo (vertigo symptoms feel like the bigger issue). I have balance issues along with a constant rocking that is internal as well as external on my more symptomatic days. It's rather embarrassing. Sometimes I have to play it off like I'm bobbing to some music or something. But when I walk down the street, I look drunk. My son does not experience this rocking part like I do. The symptoms, specialists, and treatments may be the same that you have been experiencing. Originally I found that eliminating certain foods helped. My vertigo specialist put me on Effexor and Topimax from the start. However, reoccuring hormonal influxes this past year has caused another doctor to prescribe birth control because my symptoms are worse around my menstraul cycle. It has gotten me back to work. Nothing is perfect however, but I do I feel like a functioning member of society and am only forced to take a couple days off work every month or so. This hit me at 42 and my son at 17 and I know how frustrating it is at any age. Whatever phase of your life you in, I applaud you for reaching out for help. You can find support in solidarity. Good luck in your search and be strong!

Hi Mya, I have all these symptoms and my ENT diagnosed me with vestibular migraine.  It is different than regular migraines and after researching it, it fits every single symptom. I just started taking Amitriptyline a week ago. I can already tell a difference in my little boat rocking feeling, neck pain, and head pressure. I'll be upping my dosage in a few days and am anxious to see if it helps even more. I hope to get back to life and my job before I lose it.  Tina

I have 'rocked' constantly for over 2 1/2 years. I take Effexor and amitriptyline which I think helps some but I still have bad headaches. Do you think topamax helped you? My dr will let me try it if I want to. I may start at a low dose and just see how I tolerate the med. Do you still feel the rocking sensation?

Hi Tina, my doctors as well just diagnosed me with vestibular migraine. When I googled it all the symptoms matched. I'm finally glad about figuring out what's been causing my dizziness. I just had a talk with my doctor today. She wants me to start the natural way and take magnesium 500 mg (I stopped taking them it messed with my stomach) and 3mg melatonin. I bought melatonin gummies, i started taking them three nights go. They're strawberry flavored and I take two every night which makes it 5mg. She said give them 2 to 4 weeks to notice a change. They help me sleep. No side effects. So I'm happy about that. Then if it doesn't work she said to try topamax. I looked up reviews and they are mostly negative with bad side effects. So hopefully melatonin works so I won't have to try it. I also go to physical therapy they gave me exercises. I'm too afraid to do them alone but I don't have much support. My family is always busy. So I feel pretty much alone with that. So by the end of Feb I'll update if its helped smile hang in there! Its really difficult to deal with but now I know there are others who know what I'm going through. My family doesn't understand how it feels so yeah I'm handling it the best I can on my own.

Hi terijo44, I have the same symptoms as you. It looks like I'm drunk when I walk as well. I don't feel safe going anywhere by myself. I feel like there's never a break with the constant rocking unless I'm asleep. Its been going on for a year and a half. My doctor recommends me trying topimax after I try melatonin for a couple weeks. But I heard the side effects are really bad for it. Do you get side effects? Does it stop the rocking? And it gets worse with me as well when my cycle is about to start. I'm so glad you brought up birth control I didn't think about it. I'm willing to give that a try. I plan on getting the arm implant nexplanon. I have difficulty with swallowing pills. I'm glad you found a combination that's helping you. And thank you so much for sharing your story with me. I hope we all find some peace in this difficult problem. Let me know if you try anything else. You and your son take care smile

Hi Ijust read your post and Itoo was dx with MAV/ vetibular migraines

I have hx of classic migraines so this was not new for me...whats new in the terms of being constant since June 2015 is this rocking/swaying/ woozy off balanced  spaced out head  24/7...& I do mean 24/7  unless I actually get some sleep..It has progressively gotten worse.

So my question is why Melatonin?   other then for sleep? how can that help with the dizziness?  I already take 400mgs (at bedtime) of magnesium...so I am interested in knowing what melatonin could do...thanks

i had 24/7 vertigo, rocking, pushng, pulling, severe lightheadedness, dissassociation, blurred vision for 6 months. never went away, ever. couldn't sleep cause it felt like someone was pushing me as hard as they could. Floor felt like it would disappear behind me, or i was going 300 miles per hour while standing still. 5 years later, the only thing that has ever truly worked day in and day out. when  i went to see a neurologist was.  .5 mg clonazapam everyday. i can substitute with exericsing, meditation, alcohol, sleeping, coffee buts its extremly short term. I'm just saying for anyone out there who experiences that terrible rocking feeling, try clonazapam and monitor it closely.
