Rough day

I've been crying for a couple of hours and can't stop.  Last week, I figured out that I'm not going to make real progress with improving my health unless I get help with my anxiety.  Over the weekend, I talked about it in a forum here under Anxiety Disorders that is really super helpful and also talked with my sister about it.  Tomorrow morning, I have the colonoscopy that had to postpone due to my surgery recovery after having the ovary and polyps out in April, so going through the prep for that today.  Understanding now that with anxiety, Crohn's, and peri, I may be able to make better choices for managing the Crohn's and peri if getting help with anxiety becomes first priority.  Last two colonoscopies were a bit rough - had benign polyp removed in 2013, then had bad car accident, then had to have follow-up colonoscopy in 2014 because of previous polyp and was a nervous wreck - cried when GI doc came in to do procedure - but no polyps that time.  Wouldn't have guessed I'd be going into it this time less than 3 months after gyn surgery.  I know the tears are the anxiety talking, and know I have to learn to cope and manage.  Just realizing so much at once, it's really hard today.

Thanks, Deidra!  Getting all that crying out has left me feeling much calmer.  Don't know how I'd get through all this without everybody here.  Glad to have found anxiety forum, too.  Take care, hoping to be back tomorrow with good news. ??

So sorry Elizabeth, baby steps for you, be kind to yourself. The crying and hopelessness was me not so long ago - have found great strength and better frame of mind since re-starting hrt - Tiberlone (LIvial). Keep your mind active and do lots of stretching - even sitting/breathing exercises - take a look on youtube - keep goingsmile

    Love and thoughts,

    Louix

Just a quick update to say that I got through the colonoscopy without incident.  They were running way behind, and the wait was making me anxious, so I did some deep breathing and chatted with another Crohn's patient who was waiting, a woman diagnosed in midlife who was very kind.  For the second time this year, the other being my recent surgery, I woke up in recovery to a smiling Doctor (and this guy isn't usually smiley, kinda serious, really) and it was all good news.  Disease is currently active only in a small area, no polyps, awaiting biopsies on diseased area as typical, but he was really pleased.  Thought about you all and how great a help this forum is, and how much easier it will be to manage my life when I get the proper care for my anxiety.  That us my focus now!  I appreciate you all so much for helping me get through this.  What a year.  Take care and thanks again!  ??????

Thanks, Lee!  Looks like they released my "moderated" update, too!

Okay - not sure why, but I posted to let you all know that the colonoscopy went well with great results, and my post has gone to the moderator.  No mention of links or products, so probably an error, but just wanted to say thanks again for everyone's support!  Take care.

Hi Elizabeth. glad your colonoscopy went so well -will be a weight off your mind I'm sure. if you decide to speak with your specialists about a hrt trial, let me know how you get on - i'm sure it will help with your mental symptoms particularly as it has done with me. Got my colonoscopy on sat. dreading the moviprep fri eve/sat morning. not so worried about the actual procedure as had before with sedation, so know what to expect. i just hate the effect the moviprep has on you before. yuk. my aveda stress fix hand cream & body lotion will be slathered on thurs & fri evening! Take care of yourself, & rest up for few days to get over colonoscopy. xxx

Thanks, Looloo... I hope yours goes well!  I hate the prep, but somehow this time was not as bad... I was thrilled not to have a polyp and disease is pretty quiet at present, just active really in one area, which turned out to be consistent with current symptoms.  They were running an hour behind, so I'll have to see him for an office visit to ask about HRT.  Good luck and hope you will have great results!  Take care. x
