    Hi Riri

Omg it's like I could have written your post. My fissures were and still ongoing but since Botox the intensity and severe spasms are easing. Please carry on with sitz baths if u have stopped them since your op and drink plenty of water and have plenty of fibre to keep everything going.

I used to cry every day and plead .... yes plead to god to stop the pain. I couldn't function or even care to function because I thought it would just be like that forever . I can completely sympathise whole heartedly with the pain u are feeling and the complete dispare but please know it will improve as times goes on. You have to believe because otherwise it can seem hopeless. Keep active also I would force a walk just because it used to help the pain of sitting. Plus it moves everything along in your system.

I'm here if you need an ear ok I get it completely x

      Hi Claire,

Thank you so much for your response and the comfort sad this really sucks but I'm glad to hear you are having a positive outcome !

Everything you just wrote to me is exactly what I've been feeling especially crying thinking I'm this way forever :-(

If you don't mind me asking when did you have the Botox and how long did it take for things to get better - I'm now 9 days and still pain passing a poop and then all day I can feel a light sting inside which is the fissure sad

I really want all this to go away it's stressing me so much !!!

I will definitely keep in touch thank you so much xx

I can totally relate. It's been 2 years for me. My fissures finally healed but left me with scar tissue. Tomorrow I have surgery under a local anesthetic to remove it. There is nothing else to be done as the scar tissue won't go away on its own. I'm so scared of the procedure, the after effect after mostly what if it doesn't work?

So your fissure took two years?!?!!!!!! I had a skin tag removed and that's how all this started ! I was on the toilet with the stitches in and was pushing for my stool and tore myself because the stitches were restricting my bowls to open so dear god please don't push ! Did u have to do Botox to heal your fissure ?

      Hi Riri,

It's been long time that you had botox, is it workig for you? I am also suffering from fissure since 4 n half months due to vaginal delivery with forceps. Right now on Nifedipine ointment but it's back n forth. So botox is what I am looking at if this back n forth continues to happen. Plz let me know your experience. I am also scared whether botox works for me or not, as my fissure is not just from severe constipation, it is from vaginal birth with forceps which is much more traumatic than constipation alone

Hey Hun sorry to hear you also have a fissure I know how horrible the trauma ones are because mines also from trauma and not constipation! Although mine wasn't from child birth ! Il b very honest with you although I'm impatient and suffering from anxiety the Botox has helped and does work BUT it is not over night ! Physically u can even see the fissure slowly healing mind you mine was very very deep pretty much a split in my butt hole ! The Botox relaxes the resting pressure so it is not tense and always stool to pass effortlessly but does not heal the fissure this needs to heal on its own ! Like any other wound! The Botox took 8 days before I felt comfortable to poop - the second week the Botox was very strong and I would almost sh*t myself if I wasn't near a toilet haha it made everything lose and I had a weird bump but wasn't a hemoroid it was from everything being relax that what was usually inside was coming outwards including fluid and blood flow I've heard another girl have the same thing - by week three the Botox settled and my fissure was healing I wasn't in pain on the toilet but it's like iritation and discomfort and there's slot of ups n downs you need to be prepared for what comes next ! Week four - the horror - just when I thought I was almost better the fissure retore after a solid poop. Nothing bad at all I think it just took off the scab from the wound there was dab of blood and light stinging pain! I had that soreness up my butt for two days and by the fifth day it's like it never happened! Sounds odd but I think it's good to slightly retear because it promotes healing all over again ! So far so good my fissure has healed from the deep tissue and now just the surface is stil split but needs to heal but it isn't red and raw which is good because the new tissue cells are forming ! Hopefully my thorough explanation mentally prepares you smile go get the Botox and remember patience! Because the wound will take time to heal and this will be emotionally draining but if you are prepared and understand it's not a quick fix then I would recommend you give it a go as it definitely makes a differencesmile xx

Yes I've been living with this for over 2 years. The procedure to remove scar tissue hasn't helped. I go back to see specialist next week. I'm so fed up with the pain. I can only have a BM with use of stool softeners and am in pain the day of. I take ibuprofen and long baths with Epsom salts.

Have you tried Botox ? My surgeon told me to keep the stool soft but still solid so the fissure heals lose and not tight!! I feel so bad for you I really hope you can get this sorted! I feel like I'm slowly but surely getting there x

Im so sorry about the hell you are goinf through.I only come back to this site to assist as it was my only comfort when an anal fissure, dominated my life.I went through gels, concoctions, diets, nothing helped.I met a surgeon who believed in LIS,a procedure which relaxes the anal sphincter, allowing all trauma to heal.Bt law they are cautious,as it may cause incontinence,bt thts rare.Dont live in pain, get a reputable colorectal surgeon, confident in the procedure and, from my experience live happily ever after.Id suffered, pain bleeding starving, it was a miracle cure for me

Thank you so much Riri for your well explained reply. My surgeon is not ready to give botox and I also don't want to get it done by a general surgeon. I asked my GP to refer me to CRS, I got an appointment on June 27th. Have to see how it goes and what the CRS is going to offer.

As you said, I have to be prepared for ups n downs which I am already facing. But it's difficult to maintain positive attitude when I can't involve much with my lil boy. I am so so desperate to get back to my normal life sad

Thanks Melissa for your reply. Seems like we both are sailing in pretty same boat. I delivered my baby in december 2016. It's aweful that I can't spend enough time and enjoy with my baby sad

I was consulting general surgeon. Now I got a referral to colorectal surgeon for June 27. Hope to get some solution.

How was your botox recovery going on?

Once I reteated with lil constipation and last week irritated fissure with diarrhea :,(

Now my stools are soft, not much pain during BM but spasms are crazy. In fact, immediately after BM I feel very relaxed as the pressure on the anus will be low due to emptying of stool. Then after an hour or so dreadful spasms starts.

What is LIS? I'm going to see my colorectalspecialist next week and I'll ask about botox.

      Hi April,

Are there any questions or things I should keep in mind when looking for a colorectal surgeon??

      Hi kathy

I too have scar tissue at site of healed fissure.

How was ur problem diagnosed( mine was thru MRI scan)?

Did your scar tissue pain after motion?

      Was ur surgery successful?

      Are u pain free now?

How many days did it take to recover from surgery?

Please do reply. I am thinking of surgery in last week of march
