Smelly gas like sulphur and rotten eggs

Posted , 200 users are following.

Hi all. So embarrassed but don't know what else to do. I actually am getting seriously depressed as It Is so bad.

I have been getting really bloated and pass the most foul smelling gas ever, it stinks and lingers in the room. I'm having to air my bungalow every evening.

I eat relatively healthy, excercise regularly and am slim.

This has been going on solidly for 2 whole months. I have tried eating different things but i just keep getting this awful smell! Sometimes I feel like I'm going to shit myself!! I can't have people over and am scared to go out when I know I'll be in a small space. I gave up my job!!

I have had to do a stool sample, all clear. The doctors just say I have IBS. They gave me colofac (mebeverine) which did nothing! I don't know what the hell to do!!

PLEASE HELP

If I'm not mistaken I've been researching this for the past six monthe and I'm den to girdidis wich goes away after a few weeks but can cause a lactose intolerance. SLSO It Could Be GASTROPARASIS lack of motility in the stomack, last but not least the one I think is what's going on is SIBO or Small intestinal bacterIA overgrowth wich basicallyy causes Nasty gas because the bacteria consumes sugar reslesing gas and causing all sorts off issues through malabsorption. So bread/past or corn syrup or sugar and your soon Jane all sorts of issues but mainly gas and bloating... diet and antibiotics will kill off the bacteria....hope this helps I'm going to and get tested on the 20th

BTW diet alone will make the symptoms disappear but if no antibiotics are taken it will soon return if old eating and drinking ha bits come back...sry about the Grammer

Wondering if ur problem was solved. I am a 47 yr. Old woman. Last summer the gas started. Bad all day long and really smelly. I thought it was part of perimenopause. Cause I had stopped my period and started hot flashes. I started taking activated charcoal. Which worked when I took about 6 a day. 2 at a time. Unfortunately it made me constipated. After a couple of months I started getting my period again and the smelly gas got much better. I was very gassy but not as smelly . Now 6 months later. The really smelly gas all day long is back . My bowels get cleaned out daily and starts to happen after. Or after a not so big meal. I had a colonoscopy and endoscopy and all good. That was in December 2015 . The doc said if I want I can have a breath test? done to see if there is bacteria stuck in small intestine. Any one have experience with this test? I just tried the tablespoon of terimic in water...

Jenny please try several slices of Sushi Ginger slices with each meal. We found it at Walmart, a 10.5 oz jar for $3.24 no sugar added. It is a side dish in most Asian restaurants and has a slight bite but we like it. It has been a godsend. My husband has Crohn's and always had gas. After an ileostomy take down the gas odor was unbearable and at times he could not go out in the public. Hope this will help. Some people suggest charcoal but that can deplete nutrients and medications. At the price of Crohn's meds - not good.

    Hello jennyjames.

It's like this is me talking. I have had smelly gas for months now. I can't control it yet I work in an office. What am I supposed to do ?

I have made some lifestyle changes but it pops up from time to time. I have lots of cucumba smoothies and leafy veges. The last was at a meeting on Friday. Terrible.

I have decided to pray seriously about this i need a miracle.

I think u should pray too.

Jenny, I suffered with the same symptoms for 4-5 years. I found the solution for me about 3 months ago. Lactose free milk, and avoiding lactose from other sources. If you haven't tried it, do yourself a favor and get some. My problems cleared up in about 3 days. Good luck!

I would take activated charcoal. Also I would be on a regular regimen of Barley Green to detoxify your stomach. Both of these products will FOR SURE solve your problem. I had the same thing and searched high and low and these are the best products in the world for what you were going through. But the Barley green from Dr days website. It's a little bit spend he but your health is worth it I will stay on it for the rest of my life, a tablespoon of the morning tablespoon of night.

Soo I think I might have the cure for you... I had been going thru this as well. It's was kind of a shock for me but it has helped so much. You are gluten sensitive. If it's as bad as you say, and trust me I know it is, try cutting it out COMPLTELY for thirty days. Let me know if it works smile

Digestive Enzymes! Any foul Smells basically means any food that you eat is not being digested properly.

Digestive Enzymes Break down the food you eat and then used accordingly. For example protease is a digestive enzyme that breaks down any protein that you eat. Google Digestive Enzymes, I'm sure that will solve your problem!

    Hi,

I have the same problem sad

I am unable to control it, no matter how hard i try to "hold it in" even the tinyest "leak" of wind is just so so smelly...

And i think people are beginning to notice at work...

I go home on the bus, london buses are always busy... n it is embarasing as hell when people are clearly moving away from you on the bus.

Ive had it nearly a month now.

By the way, its regularity is every 5-10 minuits.

I hope someone replies with a solution for me.

    Thank a lot.

      Hi Salina,

I have had this problem for over a year now. I manage the problem  by avoiding sugar based foods (including sweet fruits) and a whole load of other problem foods like eggs, oats, smoked salmon, leafy greens like spinach, nuts and of course the brasicas like cabbage and broccoli, Chocolate is the worst offender for me. So many foods trigger it so it is easier for me to say what doesn't trigger it. If I eat potatoes, pasta, tomatoes, cucumber, sweet pepper, chicken and bread then I have no issues. Oh and spices and herbs also seem to make it worse although turmeric seems to be work wonders in terms of eliminating the odour. Good luck.

    Good morning.

I have been visiting the hospital due to the smelly gas situation. So the doctor asked that I do a stool test.she queried Gardia Lamda an organism that could cause the smell.

It returned negative but I tested positive 2 pluses to bacteria and I also have intestinal mycosis.

My doctor is saying she needs to do a root cause analysis so she wants me to run some tests.FBS,RVI,FBC& ESR.

just so if you see your doctor you could suggest these areas and see what they might find.

You should also stay off GLUTEN & LACTOSE.

Also she is suggesting a colonoscopy to check my colon.

Jennifer, thank you regarding Gardia Lamda and I will ask the doctor to see if he would order a stool test for my spouse.  He has Crohns so we have always put the oder to that.
