Hi all. So embarrassed but don't know what else to do. I actually am getting seriously depressed as It Is so bad.
I have been getting really bloated and pass the most foul smelling gas ever, it stinks and lingers in the room. I'm having to air my bungalow every evening.
I eat relatively healthy, excercise regularly and am slim.
This has been going on solidly for 2 whole months. I have tried eating different things but i just keep getting this awful smell! Sometimes I feel like I'm going to shit myself!! I can't have people over and am scared to go out when I know I'll be in a small space. I gave up my job!!
I have had to do a stool sample, all clear. The doctors just say I have IBS. They gave me colofac (mebeverine) which did nothing! I don't know what the hell to do!!
PLEASE HELP

I am not lactose intolerant nor do I have IBS. I drink a large protein shake every morning and have been doing so for the past 10 years taking a break from them about every 5 months for about a month or 2.
My gas is so bad it's to the point where I can't eat ANYTHING without getting it. At first I thought it was from if I ate something a bit fatty. The other day I drank tomato soup and got bad gas. The only thing that doesn't give me gas is my protein shake which has my 2 yogurts in it, 2 types of protein, strawberries and half a banana and ice cubes. The gas does not bloat my stomach but it sits right at the "exit" point. I make myself burp over and over to get it out that way, but I don't feel relief until it goes out the "back door". Even the smallest ones are toxic.
I totally understand how embarrassed you are. I've lost 8 lbs in the past month because I have cut out so much food. All I basically eat now is my protein shake and not a lot else. I found if I eat soemthing before I go to bed, then if the gas comes it happens when I'm alseep. Even my dogs don't like the smell of it and one of them eats poop!
I told my dr and he gave me a prescription which I'm going to fill today. I'll post the results on here...Just know you are not alone in your suffering

I don't know if your post is still actual, but i've made an account just to reply to you.
I'll share with you a short version of my story and hope you'll benefit from it.
Your situation seems to describe a phase i've been through. In fact i had digestion issues ever since i know myself. There were just bad days and better days, but bloating, gases (more or less smelly) and other various symptoms have always been around. Lately (after years and years of constipation - i was not going everyday), I've begun to be bloated and gassy right after lunch, most of the days till the next morning, when i would go to the bathroom, that making me feel a little relieved. Sometimes the gases were pretty smelly even if I had a regular bowel movement.
I've tested myself for helycobacter and some hepatitis forms but they were all negative.
You could perform an ultrasound and possibly check for deficiencies of the pancreas or the gallbladder, but i think they usually manifest more severely, and also check for some allergies like eggs, dairy and gluten since they develop in time.
Those being said, you should know that I have tried also probiotics and prebiotics, and charcoal tablets, digestive enzymes, simeticona. They made no difference, still "not so bad" days and bad days. If I was eating a soup, a salad, a grill, anything, it did not matter, I was feeling the same.
I thought that the fact that I was eating fast and not chewing properly was a problem, or maybe that i had eaten too much junk food in the past. Well guess what... none of these. Ok i have to admit that chewing well and being seated while eating made a difference but not significant.
The other days, after I left from my dentist (that was another struggle),
I sat on a bench waiting to feel better beacuse i had to do another visit and started to google. Somehow I knew for a few months maybe a year that I had some anxiety issues, but i didn't know details and more specific details. I always had an interest on psychology and a drive to find and solve problems related to this field. I came across an article defining what is called Avoidand personality Disorder with symptoms and causes etc. Now you can google yourself for it, ut it doesn't really matter because i don't think this could be your problem.
But suddenly i realised that the fact that i was anxious about the eternal environment made me feel like this. And i started to examine different minor details like the fact that I was avoiding the neighbours, did not like new situations and new people, was a bit sensitive to critic and rejection. i knew that something was wrong but i did not know what that was. Yes, I've read articles correlating stress to digestive problems but I did not give them attention. It seems that I was also swallowing air because of anxiety and not realising it. I've discovered that there are even studies suggesting that stress affects the gut bacteria balance. So yes stress is a major factor in IBS and gut leaking that leads to other nasty symptoms.
I've shared all these details, so you can see that I had a serious issue and for sure it's not over but the fact that now i know what is, is so relieving. Now I find it easier to aproach strangers and engage in new activities. And as you can imagine my digestion improved as well. I am less bloated and my gases are odourless.
Bottom line is: try to see if you've been through some changes lately that made you more stressed out than usually and try to find new ways to cope with it beacuse it seems that this is really our century's disease.

After a few weeks, you will notice a difference. Start to wean away from sugar and grains until your body is healthy again, then you can slowly add healthy ones back in. When you add back in sugar, make it quality honey.
For some time, you will mostly be eating vegetables, meat, and some fruit and A LOT of water.
You need to wash all the junk out of your body.
Thinking of you and wishing you well and healthy.

Has anyone tried chlorophyll it come in a mint flavor and a liquid form you can take on its own or mix with juice ...it is an internal deodorant ...it also has lots of vitamins for your blood and colon.. I reccomend taking a spoon full with breakfast lunch and dinner ...don't drink too much bc at first when it's cleaning u out it could give u some gas.. So go slow..,combine with acidophilus ans fruits and veggies .. Little bread and dairy and hopefully it will help. I live in the states and found chlorophyll at any local health food store. Or order on line. Be aware it stains so careful not to spill and brush teeth after use. Some people use it as a mouth rinse as well. Good luck

Hi teah76, I am just started trying Daily Tumeric. I put it in Gatorade right now because it states to put it in your favorite smoothie, shake or juice. I have to figure out what smoothie, shake or juice to put it in. I was too afraid to drink anything but water? I also just started taking prebiotin, which states take with any food or liquid room temperature or hot preferred. Do you think chlorophyll would work better? What fruits and veggies? I don't know what to take for fruit and veggies anymore. Please comment thank you.
