    Hi Chris,

I am only on 10 mg of Amytriptyline, anymore and I would be a zombie!

I notice I have sugar cravings on it, and have to eat chocolate last thing at night.

Also weight gain is a side affect of this drug.

Have any of you looked into prescription only Vitamin D,not the over the counter ones.

I was put on this after being at a clinic and found out my level was nearly nil,so far fibro not as bad.It is called Dekrisol. And they say it is a hormone.

    Have a google.

No, I haven't heard about it. I currently take 2000mg a day but have never had my levels checked, thank you I'll have a look into that.

I notice tiswas is on it,it is D3 a very small capsule.I take only once a week.

Blood test is specialised, where I live it has to be sent to Glasgow.

But you will need to be retested every 6 months.

Doctors don;t like to do this test as it's expensive.

Feeling for you Chris..same here, I put on lots of weight, I went on soo many fad diets, weight came off quickly-but not a sustained way of eating I put the weight straight back on... am on 25 mg have been for 16 years..good for me..I went on the Paleo eating regime 2 yrs ago, please google it, it's awesome..they have an Auto Imuune Protocol too. I lost heaps of weight..it's not a diet, it's a lifestyle..very very healthy..yet lots of food you can eat.. sooooo good...very very healthy, so gies against the flow in what everyone told us all our lives to eat and what not too...NO SUGAR- sooo bad for you....I get all my info on a website that's  run by a dr...she is a nutritionist too and a sufferer too... it's basically high fat..low carbs.definitely no processed food...goes against everything we ever told about food..please check it out it will really open your eyes..be blessed..:-) xxAustralia

PS. Hope things work out for you soon...less stress in the Fibro key..

      Hi Christine,

I was put on a high fat diet, also no sugar lifestyle.

I have full fat milk, organic butter and Guernsey cream.Spelt bread and use coconut oil for cooking.Homemade soups. No food after 7pm.

No low fat foods or processed, and I haven't put on any weight.

But this was found out because of my bloated stomach, like 9 months pregnant!I had many blood tests and they found out I had to go on a anti fungal diet.

No honey,no melon,no juicers (after I had bought one).

This was all done privately,it cost me a lot, but money well spent,as GP's had been so unhelpful, except for giving drugs, which really don't work.

I agree less stress is the key.

Good that you tried it..,,I use coconut oil inside and out it's sooo healthy for you..done wonders for my Psoariasis too-just took it away..had it 33 years..it was a miracle, such an embarrassing thing to have that everyone sees...I'm sure they thought it was catchy...so sorry to here about you having to go an anti fungal diet..hope it gets better soon and is not a lasting issue for you..grrr.... just when we think think something is working in our favour, bang...in comes something else...be blessed Moyra... ..:-) Australia.

    Hi chris

I'm on 50 mg... & that what I find hard as well😠 ... Not only have I got fibromyalgia I've got under active thyroid, osteoporosis ( where broken bone I've got Osteoarthritis) rheumatoid arthritis in hands & feet,& asthma ... So I carnt afford to put on weigh... I gained 3stone in nearly 3 months wasn't eating any more was going to gym& swimming. When well enough.. Doctor didn't want to know ... Spoke to my phamasist & she asked me how /when do  I taken them... Explained finish work have my food then  depends what time I finish either take them straight after food but usually 2 hrs before I go to bed.... She explained to me that I need to take them an hour before I want to go to bed but also 2hrs after I eaten ... Because it to slow down signal from the brain to nerves ... It slows down rest of the body & because I already got under active thyroid I'm not giving the body chance to digest my food..... & that y I've gained weight ..... Don't know if that applies to every body ... I'm on a lot of different medication ....

lI feel like I'm running up escalater wrong way...  When the rhem- doctor weigh me he had cheek to tut at me... Totally lost the plot ... Let's just say was a understatement 😂😂 sat the mouth opened wide ... Totally in shock lol not normally like that but  angry understatement

I also think don't know if others agree with me ... But because I'm not as mobile & always tired find it hard to do anything let alone excerise

hope ur doctor sorts for you xx

Agree Redz-Sha, I can't do excercises either, but I do hydrotherapy in a warm pool..it amazing, makes me tired after, but at least I get some excess in..itherwise I reckon I would weigh a ton..you can use any pool...just do it yourself...the local hospital physio detox showed me what excercises to do..then I went to look for a pool, fortunately we have a resort 3 Kilometers away and I joined their health club..it's good because

I use the pool when no one is there earlyish through the week,,,hate being seen in my cosy let alone doing my funny excercises...hot water bottles are just amazing too, but you would be aware of that...be blessed..:-) xxAustralia know what you mean about some doctors..grr..shockers  they are..

i tried hydrotherpy pool it was amazing ,at one time you could just pay to use the pool as and when ,now because people abused the system by using the gym or the swimming pool  as well you have to pay full membership fee just to be able to use the hydro pool which i cant afford

my dream is to get a hot tub or a hydro bath how wonderful that would be

      lottery win please

Grrrr, don't you just hate that...I use this place near home, but I also have to pay full membership .their gym, sauna and spa...I can only use the pool..grr..

i have a sauna at home..it's great, but I really hardly ever use it...need to I know..I would love a hot tub or spa...but I can't get in one...(re vertigo) guess someone else's pool will have to do....soooo costly, I can actually us another inside pool with the Arthritis Association..it's much cheaper..but it's sooooo far away..hope you get a windfall, just checking up my Collodial Gold order, still haven't received it yet..might have to do some whinging...be blessed tiswas..:-) xxx
