Had one year of sore thoart or inflammed throat. I did go to gps. Specilalusts, had nose operation, scope done to see throat clearly,, nothing , didnt help at all. Many antibiotic courses, remedies, liquids to wash throat. No sign of improvement. I m tired of it.
Doctors suspected gerd, though my stomach doesnt burn, i have taken medics for two months but no help again .Morning time its worse , have to clear everyday . Its gets better until night time slowly. Then again next morning, it get worse. This is continously for one year now .
Please if anyone knows it happened to them also. Please share it.
Thanks

I too suffered with a constant sore throat for 4 months after returning to work after 7 months maternity & immediately having to re-apply for my job due to restructure. There was nothing the Dr could do but prescribe a throat spray, which gave me minutes of respite! It progressively got worse, until I could barely sleep. The interview was beginning of July and I was lucky to keep my job (others didn't) I had 2 weeks holiday in August and just relaxed and did nothing (bar look after my baby), by the second week the sore throat was gone. So stress could be a factor for some of you.
Wishing you all the very best,
Anna x

finally I found people with the same problem as me.
I'm having sore throats for 18 months now and its been a nightmare. Most of the times it ends in very bad colds and runny nose and it lasts for some weeks. When I take antibiotic I get well but after a week or so everything starts again.
I'm gonna tell the story of how it started. I moved house 18 months ago and after a month I had mould problems in my bedroom, kitchen and living room. My daughter got asthma and I started having colds every other week. After a few months my throat was constantly irritated and hurting.the last 3 months I'm having heart burnt as well. The mould was gone after 3 months of living there. I had acupunture, took natural remedies, anti-inflammatories, did blood tests, MRI...nothing showed up.I took antibiotics almost every month.
I knew a Herbalist that told me to have reishi mushroom for the immune sistem, and after that, the recurrence is less frequent but it's not over. I thought it could be the weather of england (south) but now I think its much more.
If you or anyone find what it is please just let me know.
Thank you,
Cristina

How are you doing with your problem right now? any improvements? i had the same problem for over 2 years now.1.at DECEMBER 2013 the begining was sudden unexplainable dry mouth and nasal mucosa at few evenings. ( one week ago before that i did very nasty farming job- burning dry mint cuttings in the tunnel ) 2.after then the next seven months i had dry cough in the morning times 3. at JULY 2014 then i had virus at summer time , wich destroyed my nasal mucosa and sense of smell 4.after virus my nasal turbinates gets worse and worse , feeling always inflamed and blocked, so become mouth briether 5.at MAY 2015 the throat mucosa got red or purple and permanently inflammed since that. NOw its very easy for me to catch a cold or flu and it takes longer then usual to get better, because of inflammed nasal and mouth mucosa. ITs JUne of 2016 and nothing changed since that. I got my turbinates operation next month.

I have the same issues..for over a year. Was allergy tested, tested for seizures because of the vertigo, mris, throat cultures, blood work, thyroid function tests, antibiotics, steriods.. you name it. My ear pain gets so severe on the right side that it turns into vertigo. They keep suggesting i get my tonsils removed but I'm 31 and am not convinced this is the entire issue. Please let me know if anyone can help.

I know this thread is old but hopefully this will bring knowledge or relieve for some one in need, like i was, today or in the future. I experienced sore throat on and off for 5 months, mostly off but as of the last month it had been very persistent. 5 months ago my cousin was diagnosed with throat cancer so at first i thought it was my anxiety and mind playing tricks on me. For the last month i had a sore throat, it looked red but not infected. It felt sore and a little painful when i swallowed and my voice also became very hoarse. A while back i had suspected i had acid reflux because of a different set of symptoms but no heart burn or chest pain so i brushed it off as something else that was bothering my stomach. Then i started with all these symptoms which i thought was my anxiety/stress. I lost my cousin 4 weeks ago and was devistated over her horrible death (not the cousin with cancer, we are very hopeful he's getting much better) so i thought this was all due to bereavement but my symptoms were getting worse. At this point my head and neck were constantly killing me. My voice was getting worse at times. I was at my breaking point, i never felt like doing anything and was actually getting ready to go the doctor, i dont have insurance and low on money which is why i hadnt gone but i couldn't take it any more. I spent the better part of another day googling my symptoms and finally i googled "acid reflux no heartburn" and BAM "silent reflux" came up. I checked it out, compared symptoms and that is the closest i ever came to matching symptoms. That night i took a pepcid ac before bedtime and began trying to cut back on foods that cause it. The next morning my voice and throat eere already much better. Silent reflux is called silent because you dont really feel it but it causes damage to your throat and voice box, especially when youre laying down asleep which is why its worse in the mornings. This is my third day on pepcid ac, one in the am and one in the pm before bedtime and my hoarseness is almost completely gone. I really hope This helps anyone looking for some relieve. This is extremely scary to live through and mine was only a month, i cant imagine a year and a half. I wish you all well.
