Had one year of sore thoart or inflammed throat. I did go to gps. Specilalusts, had nose operation, scope done to see throat clearly,, nothing , didnt help at all. Many antibiotic courses, remedies, liquids to wash throat. No sign of improvement. I m tired of it.

Doctors suspected gerd, though my stomach doesnt burn, i have taken medics for two months but no help again .Morning time its worse , have to clear everyday . Its gets better until night time slowly. Then again next morning, it get worse. This is continously for one year now .

Please if anyone knows it happened to them also. Please share it.

    Hi !

I've had the same problem for years. Waking up with a sore throat and cold with a bit of fever was pretty normal for me too. I have become quite experienced with this though, mostly through trial and error. It could be Allergic Pharyngitis, you are probably exposing yourself to allergens everyday, I'd recommend that to go through an allergy test. I was diagnosed with allergy from Dust mites, house dust and a few other food items. If that's the case with you too, then you'll have to get your room and house cleaned thoroughly. Make sure your bed, pillows are free from Dust and mites .Get rid of the house carpets if you have them because that's where they breed and dust accumulates.

Having a cat or a dog could be trigger too for your sore throat, it could be pollution, food or the oil that you use, it could be strong scents like perfumes etc. You need to check around you your daily life exposures and need to understand what worsens the problem. The only thing you can do initially is try and avoid the exposure as much as you can .

Hope this helps. I tried homeopathy medicine and it helped me a lot.

    Thanks

Hello Fata! I seem to have the same symptoms as you. Antibiotics did not help and a Dr also told me I have gerd, although I have no other symptoms except that my throat has severe pain. I'm worse in the morning and the last couple hours of the day. When I yawn, there is excruciating pain in the back of my throat. It is difficult to swallow food, so I'm trying to eat soft foods only. Have you ever been diagnosed with something else. I have an appointment with an ENT in a couple of weeks.

    Hi Fata smile

I think a lot of the throats problems we are all having may be due to unknown allergies ..,

What helped me so much is drinking at least 2 litres of water every day ..

Also stress can really make my throats flair up!

Try the water and I'm a great believer in homeopathy too!! Amazing results...

And because ENT doctors are not specialized enough, at least not where i live in field of reflux disorders, which is not only acid type, nut also gas, bile, enzymes..

I know i talk about gastro problem, but they should know throat inflammation is due to stomach content, not only liquid, pepsin is aerosol i think.

Have you ever been in a car accident or got whiplash? I know when I get a one sided sore throat its usually time to go to my chiropractor. I can tell if I turn may head as far as I can either to right or left try both and swallow. If it doesn't hurt when you swallow you need an adjustment. Only thing that helped me with it. Hope it helps

I have the same problem for a year.My sore throat started this time last year and hasn't gotten any better.I was taking Neurontin 100mg twice a day .I read one of the side effects of Neurontin is viral sore throats.I stopped taking it about 5 months ago and am still getting them. It's so bad it effects everything I do.I am seeing another ent next friday who also specializes in allergies. If I find out anything from him will let you know.

It effects everything you do because feeling is always there or because it is more serious, like constant throat clearing, throat tightness, strangle sensation?

It effects everything I do because the pain is constant and get's worse depending on what I do.Anytime I work up a sweat it get's worse. Such as walking on a treadmill which I try to do everyday.I had a 3 level carvical fusion and the surgeon told me to walk as much as I could.

And what are your official diagnosis made by ENT specialists that you visited if i may ask? Cause all five of mine completely missed the correct reason for my chronical throat issue.

Don't see the specialist until Friday will let you know what is says. What is the correct reason for your throat issue.

Mine is reflux..I couldnt figured it out cause i have silent reflux, no heartburn. Many people suffer and dont know what is wrong with them. And doctors are mostly unaware of this condition, that can easily lead to cancer. I have had five years of non stop throat pressure, tightness, soreness, difficult breathing. I took it to my own hands.

I wont start with ppis, but will add probiotics and digestive enzymes to my cure.

Thanks I think thats what I have I had major reflux about 3 months ago that was the worse I ever had. Will try probiotics and digestive enzymes.Have they helped you.

Today i got probiotics from online shop. But i am afraid my second order is lost, i didnt get enzymes! I ordered the same day, thats why i am concerned. For this type of reflux it is important to take hcl and pepsin.

Thanks for the info. When buying the Probotics and Digestive Enzymes I have no idea where to start.

I think we cant recommend brand names here. Sorry bad english. But i read probiotics should have as much units as possible, it is measured in billion units.
    • Posted

Sorry didn't think about brand names.I will take your advice on the probotics.

    • Posted

..and make sure you get digestive enzymes hcl and pepsin. More important than probiotics. I heard some people went reflux free in just few days after taking enzymes.

Let us hope it will be our case too.

i just replied to the main post. i had sore throat for over 5 months until recently, i bought raw ginger, broke part of it, peeled the skin and chewed it gently letting the juice touch the areas of my throat i felt the sensation the most. in summary, it worked excellently and i only ate a little. you should give it a shot, at least something natural other than the drugs (Prior to now, i have been on different antibiotics for 5 months).  opened the account to share, might be of help to someone. Regards

Hope u are doing better. Thought I would share a little more. Mine started early sept. My throat would feel sore and little difficulty swallowing. Then it started feeling really dry even with moist mouth. Git xray in late october. Esophageal web is what they said, no reflux. It went away totally for 3 weeks then came back about a week ago. I had pain every time i swallow for about 3 weeks total, inc.the last week. Even when I yawn it hurts. The way I got xray way went to E.R. and told them something was stuck in my throat. No insurance for specialist. Best wishes!

Thanks for the info.My ent Dr.said I had LPR have to change my eating habits and take PPI's twice a day.I have read that it will take at least 2 month's for any inprovement.Next time I see him I will ask him about possible web in my throat.Sorry to hear about your insurance I'm lucky mine covers specialists. What can be done for a web.

They have to do endoscopy for web. Its a small camera with attachment that spreads out the esophagus and breaks up web. After my xray I followed up with 2 doctors, they both said dont worry about it. But to see a specialist if it bothered me that much. I can live with it honestly, the pain is not bad and its on and off. Dryness bothers me more. Just dont want it to be serious. But then I am a stresser anyway. Glad to hear yours is nothing serious. Good luck brotha!

It seems to me that you have exactly the same symtpoms as I have.  I've had the sore throat pain since November.  At first I was diagnosed with a tonsil infection, then I was diagnosed with GERD.  I have changed my diet and I have elimated caffeine from my diet, but there is not change.  I tried the acid reducers and the enzymes, but still, I have the pain and extreme dryness in my throat.  I have a doctors appointment tonight, and they want to do the endoscopy on me, but I really want them to do the barium x-ray first, to see if there is a web.  What did the doctor say to do about the web, besides having the endoscopy to temporarily make it go away?

Hi, how was your dr visit? I had 2 doctors that read my results of barium swallow xray. They both said it was nothing. But it says upper esophageal web. Maybe they mean that its common. Not sure. I seen my primary doctor on Monday. He said if it still bothers me in 2 months he will recommend endoscopy. But i don't have insurance. The pain is gone but dryness sucks. Pain will go away as much as 3 weeks at a time. Only had pain about 3 weeks total out of 5 months. Mostly dry even tho mouth is moist
