Still bloated after gallbladder removal?

Hello guys it's me again. So I have been having a couple of issues after my gallbladder removal on August 5th. My stomach seems to feel very full now. This happened maybe 3-4 days after my surgery. I also started getting nauseous. But what bothers me the most is this bloated feeling. It's very uncomfortable and I can't eat much because I feel so stuffed and the nausea makes it worse. If I do try to eat my stomach literally feels like it's about to burst and it makes it hard to breathe. I've been walking here and there maybe 20 blocks each time as I was told walking will make the gas leave. But I feel so bad I'm not sure if anyone has experienced bloating this long? A friend of mine said her bloating and has left in a week. Is it possible to take ginger ale to help me burp, maybe gas x, anything? I just want to feel good again and I honestly feel sick. Don't think I'm constipated and I've been having bouts of diarreah and soft stool.

I had my gb surgery on Feb 23. I've had extreme bloating, very full feeling, after eating 1/2 piece of toast. I've lost 16 lbs in 9 days. I can't eat anything without getting nauseous feeling and so uncomfortable from the bloating. Hopefully this will go away soon. I am miserable. I have taken GasX and it helps some. But the problems of the bloating is horrible. I haven't had to take any pain meds since the 4th day after surgery. This is just an annoyance pain.

Hi leisha, I appreciate your support. I feel a lot better today. I have made myself get up more and move around. It does help but my energy level is still quite low. The bloating has been less last night and today. You're right it just takes time.

Hi, I've been reading through the threads. I had my gallbladder removed by key hole last Wednesday. I had low blood pressure so didn't come out of hospital till Thursday lunch. Struggled to move in and out of bed for the first few nights. Feel completely exhausted all the time. My cuts on the outside are healing really well although my belly button is sore inside and out. I keep getting back ache but I wonder if that's down to not being able to wear a bra yet. The bloated feeling is awful, as soon as I eat anything my stomach descends like it did before. Right from under my breast bone I look about 6 months pregnant!

Does this bloating feeling go and if so when? Can anyone tell me. Thank you.

The bloating will go away. I'm on day 8 after my surgery. I still have some, but it gets less and less each day. The pain in your back is from the air the drs put in your to do the surgery. That too will go away. Hang in there it does get better with every passing day.

Yes the gas and bloat after surgery is painful they told me take gas x

Walk a lot and whatever will make you burp ginger ale baking soda water

Tums helped me and laxatives to get out the stool thats might be backed

Up I'm on day 15 I now juice every morning with an Apple carrot and a tbl

Olive oil plus super greens pro biotic powder which after day 5 I can finally

Move my bowels I take enzyme supplement with bile before I eat that really

Helps plus about 3 gas x simethicone tablets through out the day to relieve

The pain that still comes in back and shoulder area.. you must not be afraid

To try these alternatives like gas x or enzymes or laxatives (if your constip

ated) I've been experimenting since day 4 I am able to eat broccoli

with no bad reaction plus go to the bathroom almost normally I pray a lot ask

    the Lord for guidance

Hi Sue, I had my gallbladder removed 2 weeks ago today. To be honest i havent had any trouble with bowl movements, but i have been eating normally, apart from the first 4 days. Unfortunately i am still unable to eat bread, i had crumpets last night for tea and my stomach swelled up and l looked like i was 6 months pregnant within 10 minutes, so uncomfortable. I woke up with the most horrendous back and tummy ache last night. My back pain is right across from hip to hip, has anyone else experienced it. I have taken painkillers but the pain is still there. I started back in work on Monday just doing part time for this week. Still not 100% but better than i was.

I thought I was crazy. I had my GB removed in sept 2016. I am bloated all the time yet I have put on 30 pounds. My acid reflux & heart burn is gone be t the full feeling I have stays with me all the time. I am going to try the probiotics & the bile salts. Maybe start also taking a spoonful of MIlk of mag every night b4 bed. I am like everyone else on this forum. I felt bad b4 my GB removal (30-40 stones) and not I just feel like a different version of bad. With bathroom issues. 😩

I started eating activia in the morning as soon as I get up and the last I do before I go to bed. That seem to help some. Then I discovered that a medication I was taking had a rare side and had a warning that I was not supposed to be taking if I have gallbladder problems. Check your other medications

I had my gb removed in February this year, I put my bathroom probs down to something I had eaten but now I'm not sure. I know it's not nice to talk about but for about 3 days I was really bad took an Imodium and not been for 3 days cannot win! I'm hoping it may be just what I had eaten but I've had 2 bad spells in the last 6 weeks! Can anyone else advice?

So I had my surgery 2 weeks ago today and Im freaking out. I am getting married in FOUR WEEKS and my dress is too tight now. I am so bloated I look pregnant. I am literally panicking because I cant fit in my dress. Im so angry about this!!! In 4 weeks is it even possible for the bloating to go away? Seems like a lot of people suffer for months !! (no fever, no pain, not infected)
