Still bloated after gallbladder removal?

Hello guys it's me again. So I have been having a couple of issues after my gallbladder removal on August 5th. My stomach seems to feel very full now. This happened maybe 3-4 days after my surgery. I also started getting nauseous. But what bothers me the most is this bloated feeling. It's very uncomfortable and I can't eat much because I feel so stuffed and the nausea makes it worse. If I do try to eat my stomach literally feels like it's about to burst and it makes it hard to breathe. I've been walking here and there maybe 20 blocks each time as I was told walking will make the gas leave. But I feel so bad I'm not sure if anyone has experienced bloating this long? A friend of mine said her bloating and has left in a week. Is it possible to take ginger ale to help me burp, maybe gas x, anything? I just want to feel good again and I honestly feel sick. Don't think I'm constipated and I've been having bouts of diarreah and soft stool.

One tablespoon of Apple Cider Vinegar in 8 ounces of water twice a day. Tastes horrible so I hold my nose, drink it down and then drink a Pepsi or something immediately. Helps with the bloating and burping. Good luck.

I'm still very bloated and my tummy looks huge 4 weeks on. Think it's just part of the healing and it will go eventually.

The bloating will ease! I had my op mid February this year and although I don't get much pain anymore I still have to be careful what I eat. I still cannot eat red meat, fried or spicy foods. I also get a little pain internally around my belly button. I tried doing a little exercise (bought a twisty body board) had to stop as I think I over did it. Hope the bloating goes down try peppermint tea.

THis is all normal I'm afraid. I am still bloated after my removal on the 8th June. You have to realise an organ has been taken out, your body is settling down and moving around. You seem to be walking a lot I hope you are resting too to give your body time to recoup and heal on the inside. He outside may look fine but the inside is healing and takes longer. Feeling neceaus is part and parcel as well. I ate little and often. I felt bloated and still do. smile be patient. It will be better

My gallbladder was removed 8.6.17. Still bloated looking pregnant !! I have been very lucky with some of the symptoms post op. I don't know if bloating has anything to do with a hiatus hernia which I have had for a long long time ?? Any ideas ? Thanks.

Hi can you tell me, I have to have treatment on my hiatus hernia. Is  the hiatus hernia removed or repaired ? I am convinced the hernia causes the same amount of discomfort.  The same as you the gallbladder removal is successful thank goodness. Glad you feel better

I believe the hernia is repaired. My hernia is rather small but mine causes a lot of pain. The pain is stabbing but also feels like I am having a stroke or heart attack. I don’t think my severe bloating is caused from the hernia. Best wishes for you.   : )

I've had my GB removed 5 weeks ago and for the first 2 weeks I was nauseous and really slow at getting around. I was starting to feel better until this week the nausea came back and it feels like morning sickness! It's awful! I'm on zofran. Hopefully, it will get better for both of us!

I'm drinking peppermint. Was told that would help but haven't What wworrying is that i have a history of breast

I had my surgery just over 2 months ago.... There is light at the end of the tunnel. The sickness and wind will go, but yes my stomach is still bloated, not as bad..... but still looks bloated. I get very full now too after eating, so smaller meals are better. But I can eat normally again which is wonderful... Not worrying about attacks now. But it takes about 2 months to start to feel normal again.

That is comforting...  I had a rough few weeks. Then I was doing better for about a week. Then about a week ago I got sick again with the nausea and have been on zofran and now I'm constipated! sad(( Can't catch a break. Hope it gets better. It's been 6 weeks now! Haven't had much of an appetite and afraid to eat.

Can imagine your head racing but you have just had a major op to remove an organ. What you are having is very normal and the settling for your body takes a few months. My op was 8.6.17 my bloating has just started to subside. Except all those changes in your body because it is moving around settling and all fitting together. You must rest a lot to allow this to happen naturally. Good luck and don't worry it's very normal. Xz

I totally agree.. Alpng with having my gallbladder removed they were removing a cyst on my right ovary which lead into taking out my ovary and Fallopian tube. sad So I'm full of anxiety and starting to feel depressed. Stay positive every day is the only way to go!

Thanks for your advice. I'm really grateful to find this forum. I was really sad couple weeks ago after the operation. I thought after the surgery everything will be back to normal but I was wrong. It is not easy. But praying that we'll all get better.

The Nausea med Zofran will constipate you and any narcotic medicine will do the same. I take pain meds and have a big problem with constipation !! I take meds for that too ! I saw this feed and was so happy to see that I am not crazy ! I had dinner out last night. I didn’t eat anything prior as I was trying to keep my belly down. I came home looking and feeling about 10 months pregnant !!

I am learning that what you eat affects the gas. I am not so sure about my belly and what foods irritate it. Does anyone have ideas about what food I should stay away from
