Suddenly blurred vision in Left eye. No one knows the reason

Hi,
I am 30, male, computer programmer. I've never had any problem in my eyes before, but 13 days ago my left eye got blurred and then I started getting dizzy sometimes. I went to the GP and he said it could be conjunctivitis (I didn't think it was, because my eye wasn't red or sticking). I applied the eyewash he prescribed for 5 days, no improvements though.
Then I went to the eye hospital and they made a lot of exams (also with dilated pupil) and the doctor there said she couldn't find anything wrong in my eyes (My problem is in the left eye only) and then asked me to go back in 5 weeks time (24/08)
After these exams I started felling my vision getting better. But today it is more blurred than yesterday (less than in the first days though). I check this by looking in some objects at home, which are always in the same place,and see if I can read the text on them. Other test is to try to focus the computer screen with the right eye covered... I could see reasonable well yesterday, today it is worse, but still better than the first days.
After going to the eye hospital I went to the GP again, and he told me I should go to optician and maybe find a pair o glasses which would make me feel more comfortable.
I don't want to wear glasses before be sure what was the cause for that problem. By my experience in this periodo of 13 days my vision goes better some days and worse other days. Maybe (and hopefully) it can be reversible.
The symptoms I feel in my left eye are:
- Blurred vision (Some days better, some days worse).
- Sometimes it is itching;
- Sometimes if hurts a bit;
- Sometimes I feel like there is something inside it;
- Sometimes I have a feeling as the eyelid is a bit glued;
Something I tested yesterday was to see how light I have going through one eye and compare to the other.
During the day I could see things with more brightness in the right eye (the good one).
At night however, the left eye can capture much more light (still blurred though) as I almost thought I had infrared vision in my left eye...lol!!
All this is confusing for me...
I have high cholesterol (280) and I am over weight (Not hugely though). I also don't have a healthy diet.
I always have perfect vision and now I am scared as this symptoms could be an alert for any other serious problem I have and don't know yet.
P.S.: Sorry for my English, It's difficult to me to described the symptoms as my English is not so good.
Can any one help me please?

Three days ago I awakened to find that my vision on my left eye was very
blurred, as if I was looking through a glass where rain was falling upon it.
I was shocked and very concerned. I immediately Googled the symptoms
to seek some
answers, and came across this site. After a lengthy browse thru all the
postings, I could not find any conclusive reason for my condition. Eventually
after about four hours later I realised that it was very possible that my sugar
levels was possibly very high, reason being that on previous day was
travelling for around 12 hours in very hot and humid conditions and
consumed around 1,5l of coca cola and 2 energy drinks. Furthermore
I am diabetic. I immediately took a 500mg of metformin and repeated the
latter every 8 hours. The following day I noticed a huge improvement.
I now reverted to 1 tablet every 24 hours. Today, day 3 I am very delighted
to report that my vision is back to normal !!!
This has been my experience and I thought that I'd like to share this with
all of you as no one reported a similar situation.

Now I have had a blurring for several months that this week has been diagnosed as PCO, posterior (lens) capsule opacification and needs laser surgery. It is something that can happen after cataract urgery.

It it can be frustrating . I had so many symptoms similar to yours and manyndocs later I finally decided to wear a pair of glasses while working on the computer to have special,lenses that protect my eyes from the red and blue lights form constantly staring at the screen. It helped me a lot. Just a suggestion.

Programmer / left eye / left head pressure ( call it pain or migrane) / Doctors cannt diagnose the cause/ Seen 2- Neurologist / 1 -Headache specialist / 2- neuro ophthalmologist / 2- Retina Specialist.
No one knows the root cause, I have been observing for 1.5 years. I can bet you this few thing, we need to come together and get this some attention from doctors etc.
What I think its due to using your brain a lot... more intense congnitive activity.
Congnitive area of the brain is in left side behind the eye. when you use your brain a lot specially in stress... That part is suppose to swell and develops temple pressure / pain / migrane behind the eye. which can restict blood supply/physical deformation at the back of eye.
Example, Think about keeping one of you hand horizontal for a hour, how soar your hand will be, if you keep for 24 hour, i guess you want able use your hand.
So if this pain/pressure caused within the brain(where there is no room) accept eye socket .... it will affecting it. PVD/Blurryness are the symptoms of all these changes.
I am literally looking to get some attention from some specialist.
Like this if you agree with some of my explaination and we can connect to fight with this situtation.

a) I visited ophthalmologists, a neuro-ophthalmologist and two retina professionals.
b) Imaging: CT, MRI, MRA are negative.
c) Neurologists, doctors, an acupuncturist are not sure.

Hi, to ALL the Computer Programmers - stop programming, its blurring your vision in one eye LOL
Jokes aside, I'm an IT Engineer and have the same problem. Ophthalmologist found nothing and recommended reading spectacles and eye drops as he suspected dry eyes.
As an engineer that needs to resolve problems and find their root cause, I was unsatisfied with the prognosis and as all engineers looking for a solution they're not sure about, I Googled and landed here.
After reading all the posts, taking into consideration those with the same symptoms that weren't diagnosed with a medical condition and factoring in my own conditions, it became obvious to me what the problem is.
AIR-CONDITIONING !!!!
AIR-CONDITIONING !!!!
AIR-CONDITIONING !!!!
At least that's what I believe could be the cause of my blurred vision in my right eye. I have a L shaped desk up against the wall and I sit in the middle (my right side closest to the wall). The air-conditioning vents are positioned along the wall. I regularly feel very cold to a point where my hands and fingers are freezing. Occasionally I wear a cap or put my hoodie over my head due to a shaved head
I believe the air-conditioning is drying my eye and that is the reason I feel an irratation to the point as if there is something on my eye.
So, I'm going to be moving desks in the next couple of days and if my prognosis is correct, I should be seeing better days (excuse the pun) in the coming months
I'll report back then.

Same Symptoms. I see little blurry in dim light conditions and little clouds in Day light also l can sense pain in temple. Optometrist reports normal. My suspicion was Air Conditioner too. I am in IT Job too and mostly exposed to AC in office. Off late (almost couple of years), I stay at hotel 4 out of 7 days a week, where there is no ventilation and only source of Air is Air Conditioner. I suspected that that causes a trouble but was not sure.
Did you find out whether moving away from AC helped you?

Hi, rather than moving desk, I had the air-conditioning vent above my desk turned off. This has stopped what feels like an irratation but is caused by dry eyes. I did initially try eye drops but it really didn't help at the time. I may try them again now, but for the time being, I'm washing my face regularly during the day.
As for my sight in my right eye, no change, it's still blury. I feel my eyes much better when I'm not at work and this is more notificable over the weekends.
Till my next Optomitrist appointment, but as the specialist found nothing, I'm expecting to be pescribed reading glasses.

I am wondering if you got any diagnosis for your problem? I am facing the same problem and was wondering if I can follow the right path and therapy rather than randomly trying doctors. Your quick response will be highly appreciated.

Your English is great. I reread your post where you described your eyelid is a bit glued. That could be from the sticky mattering will cause your eyelids to feel completely glued shut upon waking in the morning. Water viral conjunctivitis, allergic conjunctivitis, eye allergies, dry eyes, eye injury, dacryocystitis. Crust blepharitis, bacterial conjunctivitis and other eye infections,best to see a eye doc.
I have experienced a few of the above and with proper diagnosis I was given meds that has helped a lot. Wash eye with special eye cleanser, dry eye meds, antihistamines make my dry eye worse. Ohers also have given very good ideas for the eye issues you described in your post. I hope you join us and register on this forum .This is a great forum for learning and sharing.
Take care😊
