Swollen lymph nodes for 7-8 years

Hello,

I'm a 22 year old male and as the title says I have had swollen lymph nodes in my neck and armpits for almost 8 years. It started when I was around 15 years old with a one or two nodes getting swollen in my neck. The GP said it was nothing so I haven't paid any more attention to them. Over the following few weeks I noticed a few more in my neck and a few in my armpits. They are around 0.5cm - 2.5cm in size, hard, painless and movable and haven't changed in these 7-8 years. I have no other symptoms.

Any help would be appreciated.

    Hello,

I have had swollen lymph nodes for several years under my right arm. I had no pain, until November of last year. I was diagnosed with Lymphoma aggressive B cells (cancer). The lymph nodes spread everywhere and I had to undergo chemotherapy. I would definitely keep a close eye on your lymph nodes to ensure additional lymph nodes don't appear in other areas of your body. I am hopeful to be clear of my cancer by the end of this month. Swollen lymph nodes are something to be concerned about when they spread. Good luck and i hope it's nothing serious.

Hey...r u still there..what about your cancer? Does swollen lymph node turn into cancer in future?

Hey Lucy, how many years did you have the swollen lymph nodes before they started causing pain? and were they growing over the years or did they stay the same size once they became swollen? Wishing you a full recovery from the illness to vibrant health!

when you have this, what was the sign and sympton you where having then?

It all depends. In my situation, I had swollen lymph nodes for 8 years and they didn't hurt. One day I was walking my dog and I felt a pinch on my left upper exterior thigh and my leg began to swell. Shortly after, I went to get a cat scan and the doctor saw the lymph nodes were abnormal signs all over the interior of my body. Then I had a biopsy done of the lymph nodes and it came back positive with cancer cells. Lymph nodes growing in size is a problem eventually. It takes time for the real problem to appear.

8 years and yes they were growing slowly over the years. When I started to have pain they were the size of a quarter. Thank you. I am feeling better.

I have this chills and aches pain like needles but no temperature and swell little lymph nodes on my jaws, neck and groins, what could be that, please I need an advise although I did blood test before the therapy said my lymph there is an increase but please I want to know what can this result to?

Sounds like my side effects that eventually resulted in Lymphoma which is a blood cancer.  It's important you request a biopsy of your lymph nodes to be certain of the diagnosis. Please see a specialist right away (oncologist).  If you need a referral go to your family doctor and request a catscan and begin with this test. I wasn't certain of blood work but no tests conducted was as affective as the biopsy. Hospitals will not help you. Your diagnosis has to come from a specialist.  After I was diagnosed, I began chemotherapy right away. I had lymph nodes in neck, groin, above stomach, behind ears, and underarms. I had them everywhere and they were painful to touch. My leg swelled.
