Every morning I say ' won't drink today-then i don't have the willpower to carry it out-the craving seems to win.I'm in bed now because my legs & ankles are so painfull i'ts difficult to walk.Anyone out there have any idea what is causing this agony(it's probably the wine because it gets blamed for everything unfortunately ! ) Love Susan X

Swollen legs and ankles is water retention due to the onset of liver failure.

My doctor and I were chatting the other day and she hasn't yet prescribed any sellencro, I got offered it but declined as what I've read on here it seems to be completely pointless.

whats actually is the point? Don't we drink to get drunk?

may as well not bother & drink coke ( or smoke it) .....

i havnt drank since June last year.

prior to this I had over 2 years sober, then fancied a vodka one day for no apparent reason. 6 weeks later I woke up in detox & completely broke, no job, you know the drill.

I checked my PayPal after the third day & was so happy to find £700 in there, thank god I had my phone stolen at some point on my blender as this would have been gone too.....lol

See what I meant about, sometimes ignorance is better?

You are right, RHGB.  I am always checking for signs... a little knowledge is indeed a dangerous thing !

Ignorance is bliss, but this is someone's life here......

I don't think Susan is in the right frame of mind to comprehend it at the moment. Plus there are varying degrees. I imagine you, like myself, didn't get told it on a forum.

True, but we are here to share what we know, or we may as well just pat each other on the back everyday until there's no one left.

      Play nicely, boys.

We are all here for each other... in the best ways we know.

      Take care.

We are playing nicely, we were just about to start a game of top trumps. I was going to meet his oedema and raise him ascites.

Oh Heavens !  This is a very serious situation..... but I have now just hurt myself laughing.

Hey, look, when you've got it, you can either get depressed about it or laugh about it. I choose the latter, because one thing you cannot do, is forget about it. If Richard meets my ascites, I've loads more cards to play.

It's Roger...  for your game of top trumps.

Beware,  he might have a pack of diuretics up his sleeve !
