Taking Levothyroxine at night improved my life.

I was put on 50mcg of the stuff at xmas 2013, then after 3months put on 100mcgs. First of all I felt all over the place, disorientated like I had vertigo, then I changed to taking the pill last thing at night and the difference is remarkable, I wake up earlier, feel more refreshed and active, the feeling of disorientation has gone and my recent blood test was excellent and the doseage was working. Has anyone else had similar symptoms and found changing to a nightly dose has really helped them.

Just BEWARE ladies.  Keeping your thyroid levels a little too high can contribute to osteoporsis.  This happened to me being on Armor and having fast progressing osteo in my early 50s. I got referred to an endrocrinologist and first thing he did was yank me off armor and put me on levothyroxine and Cytomel which dosages could be accurately monitored.  He told me that Armor would actually have your blood levels all over the place since it's pig thyroid and dosage isn't accurate.  Even when I told him that I felt so much better on the Armor he said he was sure I did because I had a lot of energy due to being overmedicated.....ugh.  Now after two years of taking Forteo (shot in the stomach daily) my osteoporsis is now back in the  osteopenia range.  Just thought you all needed to be aware that it's a fine line between treating symptoms with higher doses of thyroid and not creating other medical problem.  Best of luck!!!  This is a sucky condition!!!

I was told 11yrs ago I too had Osteoporosis but when my GP sent me for another bone scan just last month I was then told no I don't have it now God is so good I put my whole trust and faith in Him at all times.

      Isn't that brilliant.

I also have been taking thyroxine 50mg in morning for the past 10 yrs.

I just began 125 mg of levo.... and I am having daily headaches.

Although my other symptoms have cleared up before having thyroid taken out, my blood pressrue is still up and down-----mostly up on the top number rather than the bottom number before surgery. Did you have headaches until you god use to the medicine?

    Thanks, Chrisitne c

I was diagnosed two months ago. My Dr sent me straight to Endo and I was put on 125mcg thyroxine and also selenium supplement. I was feeling really bad so two weeks ago I switched to taking the thyroxine at night and I feel 100 times better. No longer drowsy during the day and more energy.

I have also just been described vitamin D supplement.

All early days for me, but i thought i worldwide share x

Hi, I have been taking levothyroid for a year. I am 29 years old and have two children. I was put on birth control a year before I underwent rai and then was started on 50mcg and slowly moved up to 100 by Halloween last year. My hormones have gone crazy and I have developed severe anxiety and bipolar depression, for which I was perscribed medication. Blood test are required every six months to watch my levels. My tsh levels are so very high, does that mean i might need a higher dose of levo? What are the chances of needing a second dose of radiation? Any advise could help thanks..

Mock sorry forgot to add never take levothyroxine with iron tablets either. My pharmacist says they bind them.

Hi Doreen that's exactly how I felt. Who would know something as simple of changing the times would help so much.

Hi, my dosage was just increased from 25 to 50mcg, because I've just been feeling horrible and my labs came back showing I needed the increase. I've thought about taking my pill at night, but I already took my first pill this morning. How do I make the switch? I'm so tired of feeling like this, I am desperate to do anything to make me feel better! I don't even feel like I'm making any sense in this post, so please forgive me.
