THR

Hi all. I'm having a THR on Monday!ππBit anxious . It's the Unknown! I had a full knee replacement two years ago and hear this "should" be a doddle by comparison! I've also had a lot of back & neck surgery in the past.& obviously have arthritis.Have hardly been able to walk the last five months due to the hip.π¦π
My concerns are when I come home.
My biggest issue is I don't have any chair/ armchair that is suitable in height etc. My sofas are low, soft and squishy & my dining chairs are also not suitable. This is a big concern. Also I'm just worrying about day to day getting around, running my home, getting in & out of the car etc.π°π·

Welcome to this dear familiy of loving hippies where we share our personal stories and experiences -
I am renting Β a bungalow which includes furniture - The couch is put on blocks to get some height - I put a cushion on chair - it is important that you keep the 90 degree position while sitting -Β
Is your bed a bit elevated? I agree that raised toilet seat is one of my most valuable features - Β next to grabbers and sock aid ...
Big cushion in bin-liner on passengers seat in car makes getting in and out easier - I still find it challenging -
Good luck tomorrow - try to not compare the surgeries -Β
sending you Reiki healing rays
big warm hug

Chair, toilet seat and grabbers all in hand, luck for me we have a tempur bed that we hate and don't use, that is all electric singing and dancing, both ends up n down , massager on 4 settings! So I guess I'll be roving from bed to bed to chair lol
I go into hospital at 11 am tomoz and will be done at lunch time thereabouts !ππππ·π·π·π€π€
Oh my crutches are ready too ( from last op)
I've sorted my freezer, kitchen cupboards putting things at I level.
I'm sooooo independent , a doer not an asker, so as much as I can do without calling on my husband (who has no idea where the kitchen IS!!& unfortunately has health issues himself!
I'm sure I'll survive, cope as always. Thanks again.xx
