This started a week ago at night I started getting ringing sensation in both my ears which persisted that night and wouldn't let me sleep went to the Ent department and got diagnosed as eustachian tube blockage as I had popping of ears and had to constantly swallow so that the ears feel better had a Pure tone audiometry done which should no hearing loss then had a tympanomarty which showed a bit increase in the middle ear pressure got prescribed with anti histamine and antibiotics any idea when the tinnitus goes it has decreased ro an extent it doesn't disturb but if I close my ears I can hear it anyone experienced the same?

Hello. I'm 14 years old and I have really bad tinnitus. It started in April when I went on a plane with a cold and my ears hurt so bad that it felt like my ear drum would pop. I had to deal with plugged ears for over a month and I dont think I started getting ringing in my ears until two weeks ago. It progressively got worse and we went to urgent care. They said I need to drain the Eustachian tube and that's why the ringing in my ears are happeneing. They gave me medication for my tubes to open and right now I'm on day 4. The ringing hasn't gotten any better but now I can pop my ears but they end up getting plugged again. Today I went to the water park and I didn't really notice the ringing, I only notice it when I'm really paying attention to it but most of the time it's loud and it hurts really bad. Please I really need you're help. I'm not sure what to do. Having tinnitus makes me want to die. I'm not sure how to explain it I almost feel depressed because I hear ringing all the time now. Please I want to cry. Will the ringing go away?

Hey Jaz ... I'm no doctor, I'm just having a similar prolonged experience similar to yours. I know the feeling of getting depressed about this. Sounds like we are both having some kind of chronic ear eustatian tube inflammation and congestion problem.. I have been having issues for about six months since I got a bad sinus infection and I think it affected my eustatisn tubes - one doctor told me I am having swelling in the tubes which is causing the issue and to use ibuprofen. I do get some temporary relief from it. It's ridiculous but it's taken me almost six months to get in to see an ENT specialist doctor. Steroids helped - but I got a repeat infection after 4-6 weeks... and I'm on steroids again now. The ear pain and congestion, ringing and post nasal drip effect my entire ability to function... Go back to the doctor if you continue to have problems... that's what I'm doing. It will eventually pass ... you need to persevere and keep talking to a doctor about it. I'm so sorry you are suffering from this at such a young age. ??. Hang in!!!

Hello Kunal74429 -
I have been reading and following basically all your posts for the past year and even recently. I am also a sufferer of Tinnitus which started one morning when I woke up (May16th 2017). At first it was in one ear and I felt a sort of fullness in both ears.
Visit to the ear doctor - May 25th
Diagnosis - Depressed Middle ear
Medication - Loratadine 10mg; vaporization, and a nasal flush
My observation - seems like the ringing has increased to some extent.
Upon using the loratadine, I noticed that there were mucos being excreted, however, I cannot say if it was from my middle ear or nasal area.
However, the day before the ringing started I had a high fever which apparently lasted only one day.
On monday this week I travelled from Miami and I noticed that there was frequent popping as the plane got higher; however, upon descent the pressure was rather very intense, i other words, not the type i experienced before.
What I do not understand is "Drepressed middle ear". I am not sure if its to say that my entire body was undergoing some sort of depression.
The ear ringing seems like to be synced with my heart beat.
I am not sure what is your take on my situation. Sorry for being so lengthy on the first post.

Looks like Kunal has not logged on since a long while. It seems like I am sailing the same boat. My tinnitus started two weeks ago and like has been hell since then. How are you doing now ? is it any better over time? Let me know what medication and treatment are you on. I have been diagnosed with allergic reactions and tinnitus due to extreme cold conditions. I also have deviated nasal septum on the left. Since I panicked a lot in the beginning, doc prescribed me valium to get good sleep and calm down. My T is varying depending on the weather. It gets worse on cold morning or evening. I am trying to keep myself as warm as possible.

Hi my name is Wyatt I'm 15 and I have something similar to this I hear a sound like a air conditioner in a house and when the air-conditioner goes off the sound is still in my ear it's a roaring sound and if a car door shuts or a car goes by it's like my ear drum rumbles but if I stick my fingers inside my ear it pops and it quits or it will start roaring again and its only happens when I have tubes in my ears for a long time anyone else experienced this cause ounce I have tubes taken out I no longer have this problem

So Like many of you looking for answers about ringing in the ears, I have experienced the exact same thing and have come to put some mines ideas. About six months ago I was sitting on the couch and out of nowhere started to get a loud ringing in my left ear. I wasn’t sick it just came out of nowhere I had not heard any loud noises or been around anything loud at any resent point. Of course I panicked as the ringing started to layer on top of each other I was hearing 2 to 3 different high pitches at the same time. I thought I was going to go insane. I went to my family Doctor Who told me it was likely a sinus infection and swelling of my ear canals and ashuerd me that in time it would go away. I had little hope as I had scanned the Internet for answers and could find little positivity with my situation. But hopefully your story will end like mine. it did take about 3 1/2 months But eventually my ringing did get a lot less loud and now is 99% gone. The only time I really here it is after a shower for a few minutes and then it goes away. Or Some nights when I go to sleep I can hear a faint ringinf but nothing in comparison to what it had been. I can say confidently that I have not lost any of my hearing from the situation. And I’m finally getting back to my regular life. I hope this helps some people looking for answers.

Hello Leah101,
Wow. I am glad to hear you have recovered. I am sure you will reach 100% recovery soon. I experienced somewhat the same. 3 months ago, I was working at my desk in Berlin office and at around 4pm ringing started. I was a bit sick a week before it all started. It has been a wavey life since then. After 3 months of various ENT visits and different meds, I feel I am on the path of recovery now. Although my mucus clogged is too much and I have a deviated nasal septum, I can feel some progress. I don't have high pitch noise anymore. It's more of hissing sound now. like a tea kettle. It's more prominent in the evening times. earlier, i could hear all day. just wanted to share my story. I am glad you recovered. Hearing your story gives me hope.
Best wishes,
Abhi

Hi,
I've a very similar problem, I recap quickly what I did and I'm doing.
I am 37 years old, never had problems with ears before and I had a classical seasonal cooling at the end of December 2017, with some flu, a lot of catarrh at the bronchial level, ears and throat. Paracetamol and aerosol with physiological and mucolytic had healed all except an annoying crackling in the ears every time I yawned or swallowed, and full deafness when landing with a plane or going down by car from a mountain (even only 900 meters high) for a couple of hours.
These are the same symptoms now I'm suffering of.
I did:
- 2 visits with different otorhinolaryngologists (fibroscopy examination), all fine + impedance and audiometric examination (both were perfect)
- 12 endotubaric insufflations with no effect
- 7 days with antibiotics (no effect)
- 9 days with cortisone (no effect)
- CT scan to ears, all normal
At the beginning of March I did a third otorhinolaryngologist visit (primary doctor), he noticed both opaque eardrums and suggested the CT scan that I'll show him in few days and let's see.
I know there is the possibilty of intervention of myringotomy
What do you think ? Further advice?
Thanks a lot to everyone Ale
