Urinary Tract Infection - pain is horrendous

Hello!

Was diagnosed with a UTI a week ago and finished my antibiotics on Sunday. I was thrilled because I went about 5 days without the excruciating pain I'd been experiencing. But as soon as I stopped the pills, my pain came back. My urine sample still tested positive for blood so I'm on round 2 of antibiotics. Has anyone had this constant pain? My pain is there all the time in the bladder area. Any things that helped? Cranberry juice?

Thanks,

Sue

I've been going through the same thing for three years till I finally found a great urologist that prescribed Estrace cream once a week. A miracle! But I'm also in my changes and was told that had something to do with the uti's. Check with your doctor.

Hello ladies, my name is Brittany and I too suffer from horrendous UTI's. I was wondering if anybody knows what could help heal mine. The hospital and doctors where I live are no good and just prescribe Macrobid every time I go. I was rushed by ambulance to the hospital last month because each UTI I get, gets worse and worse. I get to where I throw up acid and have bowel movements passing just acid as well because I get deathly sick where I can't eat. And the pain is so excruciating that when I have a bowel movement or pee it hurts so bad that I can barely take it. The last 8 UTI's I've had in 4 months I end up passing out and I get very lathergic and hyper ventilate and don't know where I'm at because of the pain. I just turned 17 and this has been a recurring problem since I've been 13 or 14 I believe. But nothing works. Over the past year of 2016 I've had over 12 UTI's and I'm honestly getting to where I can't handle them no more because on top of that I have Poly cystic ovarian syndrome and it makes it way more excruciating, especially when I'm on my period. I go to the doctor or hospital every time and nothing changes. Back in June I went to the hospital once and took my round of antibiotics and had to go exactly a week later because of it not clearing up, and honestly I just wish they would hospitalize me and put me on fluid antibiotics to heal me. If anyone could please give me any information or remedies I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you.

I know what the excruciating pain with uti is like and sympathise with you.

I tried cranberry juice and cranberry tablets all to no avail.

Hi I havnt had all my results back but basically I went to my local walk in centre on the 6th December suspecting a UTI and took a urine sample with me, the dr tested it and it gave a high reading of blood so he gave me a 3 day course of antibiotics I can't remember what they where called but they didn't work so I took another urine sample to my GP who tested it and again showed high blood and this time protein and was given a 10 day course of antibiotics! In the mean time my sample was sent to lab but nothing grew so no infection! Again the antibiotics havnt worked, im in constant pain with my back and tummy/groin but no pain when I pee and constantly feel exhausted and run down! My third sample showed blood, protein and white cells so had some bloods taken, Friday before xmas my GP called me and said the white count was High as was my red and plasma but my blood was too thick and urgently referred me for a ct and ultra sound and to the urology deparment, I'm still waiting for the urology app to come through but I have my ct and ultrasound on Thursday.

When I first started my job I had woken up with being super dizzy and completely in pain in my back, my husband had taken me to the er and I was put on antibiotics 4x a day till they were done. And now for about a week I've had period like cramps but no bleeding, yesterday I went back to the er last night they tested my urine and had said I had white blood cells in my urine fighting the uti. So of course they have me yet another shot and another antibiotic and sent me on my way. This morning the pain in my belly and down in my pelvis area came back with full vengeance. I'm hoping my doctor can tell me more on what is going on.

      Best of luck to ya!

I thought that it was an old wives tale, but not at all, since I have been drinking a glass of no added sugar cranbury juice and one cranbury tablet per day. I have to date have not suffered UIT. when yours clears up with antibiotics, try it.

Hi Shelley, have you found out what is was? I have exactly the same symptoms as you. I am in constant (tummy/groin) pain but no burning pain when i pee. Have had 3 courses of antibiotics now but none of them work and stil have red and white bloodcells in my urine. Urine sample is sent away again but still in pain. I was refered for cystoscopy but they can't do that as my urine sample shows signs of an infection. Going crazy here, hope to find some answers, what is going on.

If any of you ladies are past the Menopause and not taking HRT,and dont mind using oestrogen cream, then ask your doctor for Estrace cream if you are in USA or Ovestin if you are in UK.    I believe this has the effect of plumping up the tissues around the urethra outlet.    Cindy [on here] recommended it and I have been free of any symptoms or twinges now for 3 months...simply unknown for me. A new lease of life. Thank you Cindy  xx

O.g the very first time I had UTI I didn't know what it was. I didn't know it was UTI. At first I thought I was badly constiPAted nd took all different types of medicine to let me poop. The pain was so bad to where I couldn't breathe. I've had UTI 4 TIMES ALREADY. RIGHT AFTER ANOTHER.
