Just had my blood work translated to me at last, I have a vitamin D deficiency which, so I was just told could well be one of the reasons I have been having boob issues.

Also my eyesight was going blurry, and considering I had lazic surgey last year it seemed weird!

So ladies please get your Vit D checked.

I was put on vitamin D two years ago!

Good wholesome food and yes plenty of sunshine is good in the summer but not burnt skin!!

It is very hard to get vitamin D in the uk.

Only can get it on good sunny days.

We have good holland and Barrett natural food shops. I tend to go in there and get my vitamins in natural foods. But as for vitamin D that's mainly the sun.

The vitamin D tablets I take normally in winter.

They do work, but have to wash your teeth after the ones I'm taking, they can induce tooth decay.

😔If you live in a sunny warm climate all year round how lucky are you!!

      hi Elizabeth

i am from uk 😑 but dont live there... ' southern spain for me'

lots of sunshine D ... Never burn no no no ..

when you live in it, you don't sit to burn, its not a vacation so don't feel inclined to roast in it for a week solid 😆

my natecal chewy, i take before bed, so clean teeth after, as yes they are sugary too ...

Very interested in this. Wondering if I should get my vit D checked. I read the other day that in the UK, the sun is only strong enough between mid April and Mid Aug to give you the correct amount of Vit D you need and then only in middle of day generally. That's a bit concerning. Xx

      hi Mooma

      useful info ..

Having a blood tests to measure the amount of vitamin D in your blood is the only way to know if you’re getting enough vitamin D or not. The blood test you need is called a 25(OH)D blood test.

You can get a blood test at your doctors or you can do an in-home test or get a test at a laboratory. All of these methods of testing should give you accurate results.

In-home tests are easy to use and involve pricking your finger to take a small blood sample and sending this away to a laboratory for testing.

Your tests results will show whether you’re getting enough vitamin D or not, and whether you may need to take supplements or expose your skin to the sun more.

Different organizations in the United States recommend different ideal vitamin D levels.

The Vitamin D Council suggests that a level of 50 ng/ml is the ideal level to aim for.

Blood test is done for a bit D deficiency

      That is true.

That's the only way to know for certain.

I was having a blood test on general health

And that's when they found it in me.

But I also find that cold weather has a bad effect on me too.

      Especially with my back.

Warm weather certainly keeps one in better health!

Elizabeth, the same for me a general blood test or I would never of known and I think it maybe part of my breast discomfort due to such low levels....the rest of my blood work was perfectly fine spot on so more pills to add the daily regimen lol.

      2 x Vit E 200 IU

      2 x Dong Quai = 800mg

2 x Evening Primrose Oil soft gels 2600mg which gives me 240mg GLA

5000 IU Vitamin D3 Liquid drops

      2 x 50mg Gentle Iron ( non consipating) tablets

Anything else to the list lol

Thank you for all your wonderful and interesting replies and especially the lovely Jay smile

      Hi Astrid

I just started Vit E today, of course it to expecting it to works miracles..

Also re started my Kelp for thyroid care..

hey.. I didnt know you could do a so called home test for vit D deficiency..

oooooo errrrr ... Blood test better ..

Test Yourself for "D"eficiency from Hawkeshealth

With your thumb, press on your sternum (breastbone).

        Is it tender or painful?

Now, press on the tibia (shin bone) of both your legs.

        Are they sore or tender?

If the answer is "yes" to both of these tests then you have a 93% chance of being Vitamin D deficient.

Think i am fine, no breast pain, and been taking vit D for 9-10 years..

      i have pressed everything hahaha

hope you feel full of beans very soon

when checking your breast you should be able to feel small cysts, but they come and go, but makes the arm ache though.

I have never had arm ache with them ever, and the doctor asked me to feel them, I said I would not know what was a fibrocystic or something else, had so many of them!

Mine do not come and go I have non clynical ones, there all the time, and not had a period in 3 years, due to a contraception implant, so I have no monthly period to determine my cycle! xx

      Hi Astrid

how are you today... you will feel great again when the D kicks in..

i dont agree with Barbara... .. ummm cysts and the like in breasts, its okay checking your breasts and noticing different lumps etc... And assuming ....

But the best option is a 3D scan .. I had one other day, wow, was blown away, all explained to me, the fatty tissue was pointed out to me, all normal in menopause..

best not to guess isnt it.. Always have an annual check...  For everything, well woman clinic check, smear, colposcopy, a vaginal uterine scan, and a 3D breast scan...

think the idea of checking your breasts yourself is to simply know how they feel as normal and anything different should be investigated..

i would never assume with my own anyway...  Each to their own ...

      Take care Jay xxx
