Hi, I had multiple vomiting episodes along with severe headaches a couple of years ago. For months, I went to multiple family physicians and even the emergency and was told there was no major issue. All the doctors focused on gastro issues and all the tests would come out fine until one doctor sent me to the hospital for a ct scan of my head. Turned out that it was a brain tumor that was causing my symptoms. Although this was a rare situation, if you're having headaches along with those symptoms, perhaps a scan of your head would be the next step if you've exhausted all other options. Hope you feel better

I can understand why you are so depressed. This is a horrific thing to watch, much less experience. It will get better we’re going to figure this out!!! Take care and hang in there - you are not alone!!!

Hi , the exact same thing is happening to my daughter for 4 months now , non stop with everything she consumes .every gastro test possible and through all the mental health options and hospitals , twice .None of the drugs she has been given work .Our next step is to take her to a "renowned "gastro professor in Sydney , to see if anything has been missed ( as this is what the psychiatrists think ) .so desperate for some answers .this has completely taken over all of our lives .I cant imagine how awful it is for her and her health .How can the drugs to stop vomiting , not stop it ?

Hi, my daughter has been going through this as well. It is so very hard as a mother to watch your child in so much pain and getting no answers!!! Her doctor (GI) has told us she has gastroparalisis with GERD (a side effect). He is sending her to a specialist (GI) bc it is not very common and hee has no idea how she got it. It may be something you look into. My daughter has tried the medications as well. Only, she can't keep them down. So it isn't fair to say that they don't work. After the specialist, we may try acupuncture. I will keep you updated. My prayers to you and your daughter.

Mary,
Thank you for reaching out. I am so sorry to hear about your daughter's suffering. My daughter is having a gastric emptying study tomorrow which should tell us if she also has Gastroparesis as well. I've thought about acupuncture as well, so please let me know if you try it! Did the Dr prescribe Reglan for your daughter? - that is supposed to treat gastroparesis. Best wishes and prayers to you both!!!

I'm not sure why the anti-nausea drugs don't work for her. I'm sure the different medicines each work in different ways and their effectiveness depends on what is causing the nausea and vomiting. My daughter has a test tomorrow called a gastric emptying study where she will consume something with radioactive material in it and then they will take pictures of the material moving through her stomach and the rest of the digestive system to see if her stomach is not emptying fully or properly. Have you had a similar test for your daughter? Over the past few days, my daughter has seemed to start holding foods down a bit longer, but she is still throwing up, nauseous and has no appetite/always feels full.

My daughter tried to take that test but she can't hold anything down, so the test was cancelled. However, that is the test that Will show everything!!!! Pray she keep everything down for this test. I will be praying for both of you. My daughter is 20 yrs old. She has a 1 year old. It really is difficult. The baby holds water in her month and acts like she is vomiting. Please let me know how things work out please.

Oh, no - all of this with the stress of a little baby! That's awful! My daughter is about to turn 17 and in her junior year of high school. I hope your daughter and grandbaby get back to normal soon!

We live just outside of New Orleans, Louisiana. It gets stressful but we are blessed in many ways. I think we both try to stay positive for each other. Some days are easier than others.
Has your daughter missed a lot of school? I feel so bad for her. She should get the answers after this test. I felt better knowing an answer. My daughter said she felt better bc now she knows she isn't crazy. LOL. It's a shame but the hospitals here have really treated her like she was faking sick. Even when we told them not to give her pain meds. It seems to hurt her stomach more. Every 2 to 3 wks she needs to get iv fluids bc she starts to pass out from dehydration. She takes liquid vitamins. That comes up too but we think it has helped. They have her going in for a test on Monday. See doesn't remember what it's for (she can't concentrate like before either). See believes it's to look at her organs. That's one problem with her being over 18. Doctor's don't like talking to the mom anymore. Sending prayers and positive vibes to both of you. Hang in there.

The gastric emptying test was negative - so back to the drawing board! I think the doctors think it is psychosomatic, but I am sure it's not. Fortunately, she is able to keep liquids down for the most part, so no dehydration. This is so frustrating! Is your daughter feeling better now?

I'm so sorry the results were negative. I was sure you would have answers. Don't give up#!! I Don't believe it is psychosomatic either!!! I believe they say that when they can't find any answers. Hang in there. I've been praying so very hard for yall. You are NOT ALONE!!! Don't give up.

Yes, it is so frrustrating. I'm going to start going to a different GI practice as the follow up we've gotten has not been good and I can tell they aren't motivated to keep looking. The next appointment they gave me is 2 months out! It's terrible to see your child like this!

Wow!!! Two months is like a lifetime. I know how it feels!!! I'm so very sorry!!! I have been praying so hard for you and your daughter as well.
Her test was interesting to say the least. It was only scheduled to be an hour and a half but her gallbladder wasn't emptying so it took three hours. The next day the doctor called and said everything was normal!!! She was so upset. I told her it May be normal for her condition. On the 5th of April, we will see this specialist. I'm sure, there will be more test. I Will keep you updated.
Try to hang in there. Believe me, I know how difficult and devastating it is to watch your child go through this. My faith in God, has been my strength!! I know he is helping to lead us to the right doctor and that he is carrying us through this.
I do pray that real soon you will have real answers. Remember to take deep breathes and know you aren't ALONE!!! 😘😘😘
