I may have ask before but has anybody lost weight  while on preds. I have lost muscle mass. Guess that would make you lose numbers on scale. I know I sound dumb to this but i am. I have so many questions that my doctor just seems to vaguely answer so i come here for answers. Thanks to all for any help.

    Ha ha!  Lodger,

couldnt wait to find out this morning.  Looked at my email first thing -so sure I would win.

Was able to get the pain cream on line from Amazon for $30.00.  I had never heard of it.  Flexiseq.

Yes, Florida where it is extremely hot and humid right now but mostly always sunny..

Hopefully,  I will hear from the English lady who does the Bowen therapy today.  I will try anything that has the slightest possibility of working.

my biggest problem right now is the fatigue and muscle weakness I feel in my legs in the afternoon.  I didn't have any problem with the pred until they upped me back to 20mg. last week.  Probably all for nothing because I'm thinking now that the pain I felt was from my OA and not the PMR.

Rhumy said to stay on 20 for two weeks but I'm thinking I'd like to start lowering today to 19.  Before when at 12 I was really comfortable and didn't seem to have any side effects.

      Audrey,

i too have L4, L5 pain, for 2 years now. No answers... I assumed old injury came back after a physical therapist pushed on my sacrum, but not healing. Another PT gave up on my back. No one has considered  arthritis.

Please report if if that cream helps your back.  I see most of those creams just say use on knees and elbows...

sometimes es I use neat peppermint essential oil, but found some not as strong. It just gets my mind off pain for a little while.

       Thanks!!

So they do, but what we found, by sheer accident, because you have to put it on and then sit for 10 minutes, and then wash your hands.

Lo and behold my OA joints in my fingers were pain free and more mobile, one lady, who had been unable to knit for 10 years, was knitting within three weeks, which was great for her as she had knitted lacy shawls for all her grandchildren and now could knit one for her great granchild.

Not exactly 😃. But u are costing me a lot of money😃

the Doublebase seems to be helping and I've only used it for three days.

The Bowen lady hasn't called. Perhaps someone told her about me.  When my first husband (Sick for 10 yrs) was in his last stages of everything that was wrong with him we used to sware my picture was posted in the back room of every medical facility in Flrida as I fought for his life.

Now this new pain cream is on its way.

Perhaps you can just give me a list and I'll order everything at once.

      It happens.

      Is it fatigue?

      Did you do too much?

What exactly is going on with you?

Phyllis, you're obviously very worried and a bit distressed. Can you get a relative or friend to go with you to see your doctor and to sit-in on the consultation where you can then all your questions - NONE of which are either strange or silly, by the way.  When someone else is there with you, they'll remember all the things you may forget later, and perhaps can also ask some questions, which can give you some time to think during the consultation. Remember the doctor is being well paid (by you or by the state) to provide this service. I have a feeling that this is the only way you can be reassured. Keep in touch, J

Hmm!  The brandy -sounds good but my husband likes the idea more than me.  It doesn't take much to knock me out of whack.

Also like Monks as I llived a Monkish sort of life for nine years when I was a nun😃😃.   Never quite fit it the life style but I kept those superiors on there toes.  In fact they looked quite relieved on the day I left and even came to my wedding 6 months later.

Just received a call from the Bowen therapist and have an appt. at 11:00 tomorrow.

i get up at 5:00 take pred 15 mg after breakfast and the other 5 in the evening and feel quite good until

around 11:00.  Then I start to notice that weak tired feeling in my legs.

and the pain in my back sets in.  I've only had this feeling for the past week since my dose was increased from 10 to 20.  So sorry now I let that happen

as I don't think it was a flare after all but just coming down from higher dose.

    Hi Phyllis,

i have the fatigue and sometimes I get lightheaded.  I didn't have this on the lower dose of Predisone so I think that's what it is from and it sets in about 5 hours after I take it.  I tried splitting the dose 15/5 and I still get it bot not quite as bad.

i went to the ER with this last weekend they kept me overnight and after all kins of tests no one was majorly concerned.  I'm fine as soon as I sit down.

Thanks Audrey but this stays with me from time I get up until I go yo bed. Not sure could be anxiety but concerned never had anxiety like this but oh well never had a chronic illness

A visit to your Gp is called for, anxiety can be treated,  usually with a mild table of amitriptlline (spelling) No need to suffer when a talk with your GP will help.  Don't put up with everything and blame pred.

Well since I already take anxiety meds they help a little at night I thought preds intensified the anxiety. Thanks lodger.
