Weird Tingling sensation in my Vagina

This started 2-3 days ago, I've been feeling weird tingling sensation in my vagina after I pee. I doesn't burn nor do I have pain it just after I feel I have a weird sensation. I been having an urge to pee and pressure on my bladder.  It feels like an orgasm but then again I don't know. I seriously need help!! I've been looking it up and the most recent study I've been seeing is UTI or yeast infection

    hi everyone,

coming back on here to update. so i posted a reply down there on april 6 about feeling the same symptoms on this post. it is now april 8, 5 days after first symptoms started. I went in to get a check up to find out whats going on, turns out I have UTI! doctor prescribed me antibiotic treatment for 7 days...just took the first dose of pills 2 hours ago and i am feeling so much better! tingling sensation went away and so did the urge to pee every few minutes! i suggest you all get ur urine tested for UTI instead of waiting because it could become worse and turn into a kidney infection! but yeah, it costed me about $181 for a checkup, $25 for a lab analysis (me to pee in a cup), and $32 for two types of antibiotics. this is the cost living in the U.S with NO insurance (im a college student, so yeah). hope this helps!

Hi! I'm 17 years old with the same symptons described in this post: tingly vagina, constant urge to pee, and I also experience tingles and heaviness in the legs. Your post really gave me hope because I truly hope that what I have is UTI and not PGAD (persistent genital disorder). I've been really scared and feel so frightened and uncomfortable with the constant tingles. Thanks for your update!

    Hey ladies!

I've been following this forum for a couple of days now, since I started feeling the same tingly feeling that's been bothering all of us. It started about 3 - 4 days ago; it was this weird, uncomfortable feeling I got after I urinated, it felt like I still had more to let out when there was nothing and it drove me insane. I Googled my symptoms and it would mainly suggest that I'd contracted UTI, but I was doubtful because it wasn't this painful or "burning" sensation like it's described, it was just a bothersome, tingly feeling around the area by my clitoris. I didn't think much of it and thought it was just a momentary thing that would eventually go away, so I sucked it up and went to sleep.

I woke up in the middle of the night feeling like I needed to take a huge leak, after I let it out there it was again! But this time, something felt wrong. It started to feel more intense, not painful, just intense. I felt weak and my vision started to darken like I was about to faint so I rushed to my bed. I laid there for a while feeling out of breath, I could feel my heart pounding and I started getting chills. I've experienced this kind of episode a couple of times in the past, and I knew that this was my body's way of responding to an infection.

So I called the family doctor and she figured that I most likely had contracted UTI and advised me to drink plenty of water, take antibiotics and vitamins (luckily I stocked up on these before the whole lock down). I started feeling a lot better the next day, I drank lots of water in the hopes of flushing out the infection and took my vitamins and antibiotics at a scheduled time, as per doctor's orders. On the first day of medication, the tingling sensation was still there, but less intense as before. I still had the urge to urinate more frequently than usual, but it gradually started getting better.

I'm now on day 3 of medication and I'm glad to tell you that the tingling sensation is almost completely gone. I will be on medication for a week or so, and I'll see how it goes. I hope sharing my case gave you possible insights on yours, I don't think the solution to my situation will apply to everyone. I also don't think this proves to be a definite answer for me as my treatment is still ongoing, and I'm not certain that this really is UTI until I get my urine analysed, but I'll have to wait when the quarantine is over. I'll update you all soon. Until then, stay healthy everyone!

I started on my antibiotics (3 days worth) yesterday and I can honestly say that I'm feeling much better. I'm drinking loads of water as well. I started improving during the day yesterday but I woke up three times during the night with that awful tingly feeling but it went away a few minutes after I'd had a pee. I've had this sensation since the end of February and it's been constant so at present this is a definite improvement. I don't know if I have a UTI because I couldn't go to surgery to have a test with the corona virus situation. I'm just hoping it will all be resolved after my last antibiotic tomorrow night. I really don't want to go back to the doctors again.

      Hey Fay!

Sorry that I couldn't reply to you earlier, I just saw this now. The tingly feeling I had was mainly by my clit area, it was most likely the urethra - where all the urine comes out (thankfully it's gone now). I don't think I've had much sensation inside my vagina like you. I'm no doctor, so don't take my word for this, but I think it's a good sign that the sensation has moved down to your clit area as, prior to treatment, maybe the infection was all the way in your bladder. But again don't take my word for this, you should get it checked when possible if it's not improving. Anyway, sorry again for replying so late. I do hope you're feeling better!

    Hi Ladies,

I'm so relieved to have found this thread. This might be a tad bit long but please bare with me! It started about a week ago when I suddenly had the overwhelming feeling of being aroused. I was simply making dinner when it first came on. It felt as though my clitoris was throbbing and was tingling (I imagine it felt like what the equivalent of a man having "blue balls" would be). Eventually the sensation was driving my nuts so I had to 'take care of it myself'. However, an hour or so later the feeling came back. I remember seeing a documentary on women who suffered from PGAD (Persistent Sexual Arousal Disorder) and how they're lives had been turned upside down by this horrific condition. I immediately started sobbing. I was so scared. However later that day, lo and behold, the classic UTI symptoms started kicking in. I had to pee every 15 minutes but only a little bit would come out and I had a dull pain in my lower back. The only symptom I was missing was the burning sensation. I called my GP and she sent over a prescription of Macrobid to the pharmacy. I'm on my 3rd day of taking Macrobid and still have all the symptoms. I feel awful and exhausted and just want this awful tingling sensation to be gone. I'm hoping it's just a UTI and that the Macrobid has just not kicked in yet. Or maybe she gave me the wrong antibiotics since she did not perform a urine culture first. She just stated that Macrobid was most prescribed for UTI's and prescribed them saying that "it sounded like I had a UTI". So Ladies... does it sound like a have a UTI or something else? Is this tingling feeling that many of you have said you feel similar to what I'm describing in regards to the unwarranted feeling of "arousal"? I wonder if that's just a strange side effect of the UTI. Any input or help would be greatly appreciated!

Hi Mikah11! i have gone through this on and off since last november im pretty sure what your dealing with s severe thrush that has inflamed your insides and clitoris! thrush doesnt always give an itchy sensation i was tested positive and was feeling the same as what you have explained. Thrush can also cause frequent urination and you are more likly to get a UTI with high levels of yeast. your diet usually plays a high part in yeast infections however some people are just more prone to getting them for no reason and may need long term medication. if its a severe infection its spreading from your gut so pessaries wont work. you may need to take more than one flucazole tablet over a period of time to keep it under wraps. My doctor also suggested if an infection has stayed in your body without treatment for a significant amount of time which in my case was correct as i had no known symptoms of thrush eg itching then it can damage your bladder n cause pelvic floor dysfunction. all these things are very closely linked so its worth doing your research. but dont worry it doesnt last forever but i know how unbereable it is your not alone in feeling like this 😃

also typical antibiotics for a UTI dont always work as there are so many types of infection they only treat typical ones. if its a UTI you think youve got get some D mannose asap and research chronic UTIs as these are the ones that are untreatable by medicine but theres other things you can try. but theres a good chance its a severe internal thrush infection thats inflamed your insides causing it to stimulate the clitoris.

thank you so much! 😃 i'll definitely look into that! How did you treat yours? Did you end up having a UTI as well?

    • Edited

yes so i had severe thrush without knowing for a good year. i didnt know i had it because i didnt have the itching symptoms etc its only when i spoke to a professor after dealing with this awful unbearable pain for a solid two months that they suggested i had internal thrush that was not going away as it had invaded into my gut. i was also in a new relationship and then ended up with a UTI as thrush can actually make you more likely to get a uti. i had the UTI treated and the intial feeling went away but there was still a feeling of pressure and tingling so i was tested for thrush and it came back positive snd v severe. i cleaned up my diet and had to take 4 thrush tablets a week apart aswell and the cream and then i found relief takes a while to kick in tho because the good bacteria has to fight off the yeast infection and if youve been on antibiotics they kill of all the good bacteria in your gut. some people are more prone to thrush bec your gut has been imbalanced for so long by antibiotic use so theres more bad bacteria than good to fight off infections. i will now suffer with this on and off in the future until my guts microbiome starts to rebalance which can take years but iv found a way to treat it. i was on antibiotics for my skin from age 16 and then more antibiotics for another skin infection from age 20-22 and its really messed with the levels of yeastin my gut. all ill say is avoid antibiotics as much as you can because they can lead to lots of other problems! D mannose is a great alternative for UTI treatment as theres an 80% chance after taking any form of antibiotic youll get thrush and if it spreads to your gut youll really suffer! hope this helps and you get some relief! also alot of people will find they take the antibiotics but get no relief or the infection comes back soon after thats because the antibiotics for UTI's only treat certain types of bacteria and theres so many infections we can get and just bec your dip test comes back negative doesn't mean you don't have an infection as infections can stay inside your body and stick to your bladder/ vaginal walls and can create constant or reoccurring symptoms. search chrinic UTI's if your still suffering from symptoms after treatment.

Leia this is very informative and to be honest I had no idea about thrush potentially causing this problem. In fact I had no idea this arousal problem existed until the end of February. I am feeling much calmer after my three days of antibiotics and now just feeling a bit sore but I have a lot more energy than I've had for a couple of months and the tingling has stopped. When I first had my problem I obviously googled and the only thing that came up was the PGAD issue . The symptoms I had just didn't feel like a UTI and to be honest I've spent the last few weeks terrified. I only got the courage to contact the GP after coming across this forum. I'm not sure I would have a yeast infection as I haven't really taken many antibiotics as I normally don't have any health issues, but I think I'm going to buy a test just to make sure and some of that d mannose. I ve already been taking probiotics for the last few days , I really have to try and make sure I don't have a relapse. Thanks again for sharing this. x

Thank you! I went to the Pharmacy to look for D-Mannose today but they didn't carry it. I grabbed some cranberry probiotic supplement instead & will probably check if walmart has it tomorrow. These symptoms of unwarranted "arousal" have me in tears. I'm obviously not aroused at all and in fact am not even sexually active 😦 . I usually would have went to urgent care but due to the Covid-19 pandemic I'm worried that they'd already be overwhelmed and keep putting it off. I don't have any burning or itching. The worst symptom for me right now is my clitoris feeling constantly engorged/throbbing for no reason and the urinary urge/ frequency with only a little trickle coming out each time (without any burning) & of course the dull pain in my lower back. What scared me is that apparently urinary frequency is also a symptom of PGAD. I'm still so confused and depressed. I'm praying it's not PGAD and that it's either a UTI or thrush since those would be much more straight forward to treat. I'm just distraught that these symptoms won't stop. They're so uncomfortable and feel loke they're taking over my life. 😦 When you had the tingling due to thrush was it a slightly unpleasant sensation or more like this incessant feeling of unwarranted throbbing/ "arousal" feeling like I am experiencing? thank you again! ❤️

Reading up on my symptoms obsessively and this came up.. a woman suffering with PGAD wrote "Then when I thought it could not get worse, a weird arousal feeling in my private parts when I was sitting, constant vaginal lubrication, throbbing, pressure on the clitoris, a feeling that there was urine trapped in my urethra and genital congestion. I also started experiencing spontaneous orgasms in my car. I was totally panicked. I did not dare to sit near my son and my loved ones. What did this medication do to me". I could not sleep all night. Is it just be or are this uncomfortably similar to UTI / Thrush symptoms? Atleast for me it has been minus the spontaneous orgasms (Thank God).
