What could be causing my dizzy spells

I am messaging because I need help!
For the past few years I have been suffering with dizzy spells, but It only happens when I am in a car, driving in a straight line, it feels like everything is moving a lot faster that it is and I can't focus on anything!
My blood pressure if fine!
I have been to a neurologist and had a MRI scan, conclusion was, everything was fine.
I was then sent to audiology that ran every test in the book, they told me my ears are ok
I went to my opticians who ran a peripheral vision test about 5 time and said everything was fine!
My GP said there is nothing else that can be done!
If I am not able to get in a car soon I am going to lose my job!
Can you please help?
Have you ever heard of anything even similar to this or have any advise of what I can do?
Thanks

I had vertigo 4 years ago every month about the same time for 3 months. I went to vestibular therapy and did the Epley maneuver. It went away for 4 years. 3 weeks ago I had a really bad spinning episode that lasted 8 hrs. I was in the hospital 2 days. Had 2 Cat scans and found nothing. I drive a school bus and every time I try to drive I get dizzy and am in danger of losing my job since I've been off 3 weeks. I'm doing therapy and its not working. I see my ENT today and am going to ask for ear tubes. Well see what he says. I'll let you know.

Hi everyone!
My dizzy spells on the freeway first started about 7 years ago, disappeared for a few years and now back with major vengeance! Gp referred me to a neurologist which then did an EEG scan and results were a type of seizure going on. Didn't give further reason for WHY it was happening. I was prescribed Topamax and weened to a pretty high dosage over a year because I wasn't seeing results. I stopped taking it and now I'm worse driving hope someone figures this out!

Hi jennifer. I have very similar symptoms. 4 years ago I had 3 episodes of violent vertigo 1 month apart. Started getting dizzy in June this year and in August I had a violent spinning bout and ended up in the hospital. Had CT scan on face and brain. Just had BPPV testing. They said it was normal. I don't spin anymore but I am unbalanced every time I drive or ride in a car. I drove a school bus and had to resign after a month of this. I am seeing a specialist next week. Hope for answers. I'll let you know. You aren't alone in this. I go lopsided when I go in a grocery or department store too.

I have similar episodes all the time. I've been to an ENT had testing for vertigo, which I had 1 episode 2 months ago, and vestibular testing. All came out OK but now I'm being sent to a neurologist. They say I may have seizures or migraines. My head does hurt often with it but not horribly bad. I'd say start with the ear doctor. ENT.

Hi Jennifer, I am going through the same thing as well. Mine started on overpasses and bridges. Now, one year later it is getting me when I walk on an uneven surface. Have been to 17 different specialists...no diagnosis. I have been in my vehicle 1 time in 2 months (passenger). On my own, I read online about magnesium levels. Low magnesium in the body can contribute to this. I'm going to try it...good luck.

Hi Dennis,
I wanted to ask you if there's anything for people with low magnesium? And that should take away the problem away.
Thanks

Good morning, I am still fighting the dizziness. I have been taking magnesium, vitamins B12 and D supplements. No change. However I have also found out that my disc's between C5,6, and 7 have degeneration. Possibly pinching nerves.... Still working at the cause. I have new ent and allergist appt next week. Will post any findings.
Good luck and hope this helps
Dennis

I have been battling a similar issue for the past year. After much research, I did learn that we need to determine if our car's windshield has distortion. It seems the Honda CRV, Honda Odyssey, Acura, etc. have issues. Many people, who had their windshields replaced, said the new windshield was the same or worse. We recently went on a trip out west, and I did not have this situation occur in the rental car. This made me wonder if it could be my Honda CRV. I found many people with the same problem. I am pondering whether or not I want to have the windshield replaced or get a different car--perhaps Toyota RAV4 or Subaru Forester. I will post again, if I learn anything new. I do fine in town, but the highway is a different story.
