why do i constantly feel nausea?

I am constantly feeling sick!! it doesnt start first thing in the morning but throughout the day it just emerges. its now at the point where i choose not to eat if i feel sick because i completely loose my appetite, which is making it worse because im then hungry too( but eating just makes it worse)

I also have severe emetaphobia (the fear of vomit) so i am constantly worried about being sick due to it(another reason i dont eat if i feel sick, to prevent vomiting)

I have counselling for the emetaphobia so when i feel sick it is cast off as being 'in my head' by my counsellor and family.

i feel like i am stuck because i dont want to go to the doctors incase they give me any medication that has vomiting as a side effect but i cant keep feeling the way i feel because it is taking over my life.

There has got to be a cause for the nausea, i refuse to believe it is my 'anxiety' from emetaphobia that is making me feel this way.

I sometimes have really bad headaches that last for 5-10 minutes consisting of sharp pains in the head and over the eyes. I also have shooting pains in my lower abdomen, but whether this is linked to the nausea i dont know.

Any suggestions????

Goodness, I have this exact same issue. I have yet to find help, but I hope all your questions are answered.

Please tell me if you've figured out what's wrong. These are my EXACT symptoms. Down to every detail. Including the headaches and eye stuff.

I've felt the same way but mine has been happening for about 8 months and I want it to go away so you have any tips on how please let me know

I experience the same thing, I'm 12 years old. When I was 11, I received a vaccine that came with my yearly checkup, one of the symptoms is nausea, and I feel it, it may never end, but I've been told hypnotherapy works for many things, and can literally knock the emetaphobia out of you, I also have emetaphobia severely, anxiety. I don't even want to live anymore!😔

Hi, that sounds awful.  When did you receive the vaccine?

Have you been to your doctors about it?  They may be able to help to give you something for the nausea.

Hypnotherapy can be good for relaxation.  Also yoga as well.  If you don't want to go to classes, there are lots of yoga videos on youtube that may help.

Sorry just realised you said you received the vaccine when you were 11 so it has been a year.

Hopefully your doctor could help with this.

I am new to this but I googled why I feel sick all the time and most of the stories people are saying relate so much to mine...such as feeling sick and then not eating and because I'm hungry I feel sick (constantly circle), I also get the weird lump type feeling in my throat, I always either cold or hot I can never get a even temperature. I am also never hungry in the morning so I usually eat a small meal a day around 3ish and that's all. I have suffered with this for about 9/10 months ever since starting the pill and have lost around 2 stone they then switched my pill which hasn't changed anything. I have been referred to a councillor about depression and anxiety but I feel like I have no reason to be depressed etc. But I'm starting to think it could be the fact I'm feeling sick 24/7 and it doesn't help when you have a massive fear of sick/being sick. I've not yet mentioned or been to the doctors about this but I don't know where to start because it seems people go through many tests and seems to get nowhere, any ideas?

      Hey Ellie,

I had nausea for the first 3 months when I took the pill. I'm going through a phase fo acid reflux just now (not related to the pill - this all got really bad when I took antibiotics for an infection), I've heard reflux and the way the stomach works can be affected by progesterone levels - they're the hormones released in the 2 weeks before you get your period. I have noticed I get worse indigestion on the run up to my period - the times I have felt really sick have all been at this stage in my cycle over the past few months.

i don't know if this will help or how accurate it is but I hope it's reassuring. I also feel worse when I don't eat because stomach acid has nowhere to go, so it goes haywire when there's no food to soak it up. It's not pleasant eating when you feel sick (or in my case, I get to burpy it makes me feel like I've got pressure like a lump in my throat or I could gag) but you need to power through. I was losing too much weight and even though I still get the odd spell of severe indigestion, for me I can directly relate it to large portion sizes now or heavy carb dishes/fatty foods, and feel better when I eat little and often. I didn't have an appetite for this for a few weeks but my stomach gets hungry now every couple of hours. You do adapt.

Reflux and stomach muscles can cause nausea so it's possible the more anxious you get, the worse it gets. I was in this vicious circle for weeks but now when I feel ill I just get really fed up and grouchy, not so much anxious, and it passes in a couple of hours.
