why do i constantly feel nausea?

I am constantly feeling sick!! it doesnt start first thing in the morning but throughout the day it just emerges. its now at the point where i choose not to eat if i feel sick because i completely loose my appetite, which is making it worse because im then hungry too( but eating just makes it worse)
I also have severe emetaphobia (the fear of vomit) so i am constantly worried about being sick due to it(another reason i dont eat if i feel sick, to prevent vomiting)
I have counselling for the emetaphobia so when i feel sick it is cast off as being 'in my head' by my counsellor and family.
i feel like i am stuck because i dont want to go to the doctors incase they give me any medication that has vomiting as a side effect but i cant keep feeling the way i feel because it is taking over my life.
There has got to be a cause for the nausea, i refuse to believe it is my 'anxiety' from emetaphobia that is making me feel this way.
I sometimes have really bad headaches that last for 5-10 minutes consisting of sharp pains in the head and over the eyes. I also have shooting pains in my lower abdomen, but whether this is linked to the nausea i dont know.
Any suggestions????

Hi I had stomach problems for many years and gallblader attack few times, ended up in ER and had antibiotics. What helped me the best for the nausea, pains, discomfort and similar troubles was Olive oil and lemon juice (1:1) started with 1 table spoon of that mixture in the morning and a night for over a month and I experienced difference and felt so much better. Another home remedy is Ajowan Caraway seeds mix with fennel seeds and chai omega 3 grinded (1:2:2) could be taken in yoghurt or in olive oil. The therapy needs to be in the morning and night for at least 30 days. I have to watch sometimes what my stomach doesn't digest well and avoid it such as cucumbers or peppers. Hope you find it useful.

I know it has been a while since you posted anything but I am at my wits end of feeling the way I do and like others when I talk to the doctor or anyone they look at you as if you are nuts. My health seems to be taking over my life and like others ruining alot of relationships. I am afraid to travel for fear of really getting sick and having to go to a strange hospital and the expense of doing so. Reading many of the articles antibotics seems to be common for everyone. I wake up in the morning feeling nauseated and explain to others I feel like I got the flu or as if I am pregnant. I live on nauseation medication. I did have real bad vertigo 2 years ago and still deal with occasional mild attacks. I get headaches, blurred vision, don't feel like eating and depeinding on what I eat get bad heartburn and makes me think I having a heartattack. My body aches all over and by late afternoon my body feels real cold and I need extra clothes or blankets to keep warm. Sometimes I get stabbing pain in lower or side of head, get muscle spamas in stomach as if I am going into labour. Told I had anixity so given antdepressants to try and both of them made me feel real sick and out of control of my body. I see physio once a week to help with body pain. I am so tired of feeling sick and need to talk with others who are going through the same thing or have gotten some relief over time so I can try it. Feeling this makes way does makes one really depressed to to deal with. Any help appreciated.

Thanks for your response. I have tried accuputure and it worked for a short time. When I do physio they then use a machine that sends electric current into the troublesome areas. Like others I have tried medications but some have made me feel worse. Tried talking to pychaloist (wrong speilling I know) they listen but I don't think really understand what we go through. I take the antinausea pill first thing in the morning and then eat and then push myself to do the regular daily things and manage but then at night things start up all over again. I feel stress is a big part that is causing other health issues of pain that also keep me down. Right now I am looking into Stem Cell Therapy and if that would help with some of the bad pain areas then hopefully I can concentrate more on this nausea ill feeling. Glad to hear that you have found some things to help you, I will try some of your suggestions. If I ever come around to finding a little bit of satisfaction I will post it. Here is to good health.

Hi Morgan,
That isn't so good. I guess you are still having the issues.
I had suffered over a year and a half with problems. I would just start feeling really sick, out the blue. Could happen any time of the day, even wake me up in the middle of the night. Along with that I would get softer, looser and paler coloured bowel movements. On bad days of feeling extremely sick, I would have to loose bowels several times that day. Would struggle to eat, feeling so sick so was losing weight and always tired and weak.
Is any of that similar to you?

Hi Morgan,
Have you had any tests done?
I have had loads with no answers however I have been started on new tablets as the consultant thinks it's possibly to do with my serotonin levels and the tablets seem to be working so far.

I'm so glad they're working for you, Lorne!
I don't nausea unless I've eaten, and it's usually immediate (burping relieves) or between 1 and 3 hours after a meal. I'm starting to see triggers with acid reflux that I've been diagnosed with. I ate pizza on Friday and felt a bit bagged up, gaggy, gassy and sick about 3 hours after. Since I started on omeprazole which relieves reflux and heartubrn, it's the only time I had heartburn in just under 2 weeks. Pizzas are a huge trigger food for reflux.
When I feel that unberably sick, which happens to me about 4-5 times a month, I take buccastem which calm me down and take away the feeling of immediate nausea. I'm also eating little and often which are helping my symptoms.
I was very scared when all this started but after a chat with my GP, a pending referral and good blood tests results I've calmed down a bit. I don't think I'll regain the 11lb I lost in the past 4 months overnight but I am maintaining my weight now and back up to 2000 calories following the above rituals. I'm playing it safe with food, eating little and often, not filling my stomach too much, taking probiotics and anti sickness as needed. Good luck to everyone, it's a truely miserable thing to have to put up with daily!

It is good to know what triggers it too so then you know what food to avoid where possible and how to deal with it if it does happen!
It is a horrible thing to deal with but there is always light at the end of the tunnnel. Slowly but surely will get back to ourselves again.
Take care!
